I've seen alot of people recommend Marrakesh on this board and want to try it. Is it better to go for lunch or dinner? Do they have the belly dancers at both, my dd has been in dance for 3 yrs and would love this?

TIA, Calie

We've only been there for lunch and yes, they do have the belly dancer then. I'd look at allearsnet.com at the menu for lunch and dinner and see which menu looks best. Most times the lunch and dinner menus are mostly the same, just cheaper at lunch.

Most times we eat a late lunch which saves money and doesn't leave you too full for the evening.

We went for lunch as well and there were bellydancers. This restaurant is one of my personal faves. Try the brewat rolls and the bastilla dessert, if you get a chance. Very nicely themed as well. :D

I don't know about lunch, but we found the dinner very expensive (a few tiny shishkabobs for $25) and very bland. The restaurant is beautiful and the belly dancer was fun to watch. I'd say go for lunch to see the decor and belly dancer--it will cost less.

go for lunch

both times we have eaten there for lunch there was live music and a belly dancer

the place was empty both times, the food choices are similar and priced lower for lunch

I found the food FAR from bland

DH and I ate here on Christmas Eve for the Candelight Processional dinner package and loved it!
I give my vote to going for lunch and then walking off the meal around World Showcase! There was a little girl (about age 3) who totted on to the "stage" with the belly dancer- everyone was laughing and taking pictures. Such fun!

if you just want to try the food, Tangeriene(sp?) cafe has better value and comparable taste to Marrakesh. Personally Tangeriene is one of my most favorite place to eat at WDW... :)
Marrakesh restaurant is very well decorated and themed as everyone already said, but I don't think it's worth the $ to go there for dinner.
If you want to see the restaurant and the belly dancer, lunch is a better option.

good luck!

We LOVE Marrakesh, I can't imagine anyone calling it bland! Must have hit it at a bad time. It was one of the best meals we had, very flavorful and unique.

We went at lunch, and not only enjoyed the belly dancer and band, but also the beautiful and relaxing environment and the escape from the hub-bub outside. Rarely crowded, it's a great break in the day. We felt no rush to move on, they even allowed some very tired ladies to sit at a booth and sip on water for an hour while we were there!

I think lunch will find a similar format to dinner, but at lower costs. We had more food at lunch then we could possibly eat.

I highly recommend it!

Another vote for lunch!

We had always wanted to try it and finally did on a whim last month. We just walked right up and were seated right away. The restaurant was less than half full but as our meal went on the patrons increased. I'd definately say do lunch since the menu is basically the same and they normally have a lunch special at a good price. On the day we went 2 of us had the lunch special which was Jasmina Salad with a Beef Brewat Roll, Chicken Kebabs, and an apple crepe with honey and almonds all for $14.99. The regular lunch portion of Chicken Kebabs is $14.95 just for the entree! My DS(14) had the Shish Kebab which was also very good! Sadly on this day the Belly Dancer was sick so we didn't get to see her but 2 musicians came out and played music for about 15 minutes. When you get to the park the entertainment guide lists the Belly Dancer times for the restaurant.
