Mariska's Wish trip! Disney World 2012

I talked with MAW today.. ok well pretty much off and on all day. =) Hehe this cold keeps making me forget what to ask! ack. anywho

April 19-27! Mariska doesnt know it yet. We are so excited for her. It has been such a rough few year and this gives us something to look forward to.

We asked to stay two extra days since DH sister lives 30mins away, Think we'll sneak in the beach and something else, not sure what yet. Sad we wont be on the wish trip anymore, but will still have a blast visiting with family.

Also asked if her grandparents could come. *Baby sitters are awesome!* If they payed their own way. It would be nice to be together and not wasting time playing find us. They get to stay with us at GKTW.

I was getting a little sad, the thought of never getting to ride with DH on anything didnt sound so fun. I will be back in soon to give more details but let the planning begin!

Few things we're planning on doing.

Thank you cards. Little business cards that say "Thanking you for Making Mariska's Wish that much more magical" still working on it, but excited. Thinking of buying a ton of stickers and letting her put stickers on the cards while on the plane.


We're sorry candy bars. Think we'll hand them out just before the flight. Since we'll be flying with a almost 8 month old.


Mini M&M tubes for the penny smashing machines One for pennies and the other for quarters. That way we're not digging in our pockets for money that fell out.

Anything else you can think of thats cute helpfull little things? I'm going to hunt for little things to keep the girls busy while on the plane.

Yep =) other then she'll only get half her wish. I'm going to try and see if I can get her into bibbidi bobbidi boutique and see if we can work some magic. and finish it for her. Its a good thing shes young and doesnt have her heart sold on it.

MAW should schedule something special if you ask. They'll probably just take it out of the money they give you for the week.

They scheduled lunch for Keira @ CRT but the cost came out of the food allowance they'd given us for the week, which of course was no big deal.

Thanks! They told us to go ahead and schedule the make over for her. Thats what we planned to do was just use the money they give us for it. Her wish granters said if we couldnt get in the we're going to take her down to the disney store and let her pick a dress... But we we're able to get her in on a saturday and picked the full package. Didnt want to tell her no if her princess of the day changed after we bought one.

Mariska's wish granter called with happy news! woohoo, We LOVE happy news! Give Kids the World Called and told them Since Kamiah was so young *they didnt realise how young she was I guess* They are going to comp and pay for grandma's park tickets! We're again blow away! I told my parents they we're in shock. My dad said they must be buttering my mom up so she'll be a wish granter. hehe * I think she will, wants to find a way to give back*

Now we're really starting to feel spoiled!

Thats wonderful about bringing Grandma. It will be nice to have an extra set of hands .. especially with such a young baby along for the trip. Thats great news !!

Some not so awesome news?... Mariska had clinic again with her Transplant team. *we check in, draw some blood, do a limited echo of her heart, some more paper work then wait for one of her doctors to come in and talk to us.* Dr M said her heart is still acting normal but they noticed a tiny change in one of her valves... its leaking a hair more.

A leaking tricuspid valve was the main reason she needed a new heart to start with. I'm sickened with this news! They ordered an ECG/EKG to make sure everything is fine. and wanted us to come back in 2 weeks. Huge step down from going to almost 4 months between visits. Words like rejection, needing another biospy of her heart via cath. All came up. I went a little numb I wont lie. Last year was SO hard on her, shes still just coming off the longer effects of the medication to treat rejection.

They later called me and said shes fine to go 4 weeks. until her next visit. Which is good news. We're praying that her heart is just fine and its just this nasty cold thats playing a number on her, since her white blood count was down a little also. Hoping they are just being overly watchful since we have 3-5 kids her age that I know needing their 2nd heart in less then 1-3 years!!

Prayers would be welcomed.

It really will be. Grandpa is coming too, Hes a tease so should make things fun. it will be so nice to really ride some rids with Sam. =)

Matching shirts.

Thought I'd ask. Where is everyone getting the super cute matching shirts/ homemade outfits?

I've seen a few other PTR all matching it looks amazing! I wouldnt have ever thought to go in matching clothing. Is there a site? I'm sure they cost an arm and leg, but I wanna drool over them and start saving if I can buy them or learn to make them??

Mariska wished for Peanut butter birds. Her wish granters step sister owns a candy shop in her home. And they *two sisters* made Mariska's chocolate peanut butter birds! Called them Love Birds. She was so cute and excited to meet us. Even let Mariska pick out candy to take home and one to eat.

Sorry about the size! forgot to make the picture a little smaller before I posted it on her blog. Tasted like a peanut butter 3 musketeers.

Did some homework. Learned about the Big Give. Thats so awesome. Planning to send someone else some Pixie Dust, Since I'm pretty new to the world of sewing. better not test on someone elses kids. haha.

Also found some of the shirt on etsy. Guessing some of the people who do the big give sell them there also? how do i find them?

Spent the morning at the doctor and the other half shopping with my mom and the girls. Forgot what it takes to go shopping with kids. phew.

Hello fellow "heart mom"! Just found your PTR. Looks like we'll be there during the same time! Your girls are precious! I'm still trying to navigate this site. I can't seem to even figure out how to add a ticker time line...let alone a PTR! Just wanted to stop by and say "HI!"
