Hey just wondering if anyone stops here on the way down? We thought we might be able to avoid rush hour through Atlanta if we stayed here, as it is only 10miles from downtown Atlanta and we plan on leaving the hotel at 0400 that morning. Can anyon tell me how far of drive it is to Orlando? And have any of you stayed at the Best Western Marietta inn and Suites? Any and all feed back appreciated. Mapquest states approx 14hrs from my house!! I'm getting excited

Sorry, I cant help you with B.W.'s since I live here but Orlando is around 8 hours. Depending on who's driving DH or me. I take less time than him. I cant wait 11 more days till we go.

I live right outside Marietta (same county, different city). The one thing I would caution you about would be getting in rush hour traffic. The traffic on I-75 is horrendous just about all the time but can really be rough on weekdays between 7am and 10am and again from around 3pm until 7pm or so. You might want to go just south of Atlanta if you're planning on leaving around those times.
I don't know the hotel you are talking about - do you know what exit it's on? I'm thinking that it may be Barrett Pkwy. If so, it should be fine. There's a mall at that exit and lots of places to eat. But again, it is a really busy place during most of the day.

We stopped in Dalton, GA when we drove down last February. It was a nice little town.

By using the diamond lane (and following Dave Hunter's instructions to a T) we passed through Atlanta on a Monday morning (during rush hour) with no delays.

We've found that WDW is between 7-8 hours from Atlanta. When going through Atlanta, we never take the bypass anymore because it's so crazy busy. Instead, we use the HOV lane on the far left (it's a commuter lane that requires you have at least 2 people in your vehicle). We've flown through the city at 3PM on a Friday afternoon, while the 6 lanes of traffic beside us are at a dead stop, with only the driver in each vehicle.

I agree with trying to stop just south of Atlanta that first day if at all possible. But if you're leaving that hotel at 4AM, you won't have any problems if you've stopped just north of the city.

We try and make it to the bottom of Georgia around Valdosta or that area then it makes for a very quick drive the next day to WDW.

Thanks for the responses! I'm aiming for that area of Georgia for sure, depending on the traffic and how everyone is holding up we may try just south of Atlanta.
