Marie's New Years Resolution~in July

 Have a WONDERFUL weekend with your DH!!!!

WOW, Marie! Lot's going on w/ you this week!! Hang in there! It will get better soon!

Congrats on the 3 bedroom apartment coming through for you guys!! :woohoo:

I agree about the realtor! Give her the boot :cool1: You need someone who will work for you! We tried using a realtor who was distantly related to me and that was a Big mistake! After meeting w/ her the first time, I decided I would use whatever realtor helped me the most w/ what I was looking for (then we ended up building instead). You should be able to find someone who will really put some effort into selling the house though! :wizard: :wizard: Good Luck!

On the food thing - I'm torn. I know you can do it on your own, but I also have been really stressed and busy lately, so I can relate to your situation. I think that it makes it a no brainer to eat good when you have the pre packaged foods already laid out for you. If you think that it is too much money to buy the JC right now, what about just picking up some healthy choice or Lean cuisine's to supplement w/? We enjoy them and can usually find one or the other on sale and/or add a coupon. We buy them for $2 or less a piece. That is not too bad. What ever you decide to do, don't let it add any more stress to your life right now!!

You will get everything back on track once you are able to get moved.
Take care of yourself!!! Get some sleep!! and Get your water in!
Hope your having a Wonderful weekend w/ your DH!!! :goodvibes

Hey guys....I'm here! DH left at 8 this morning...:sad1: and I've been pretty busy ever since. Straightend out the garage, (while still in my pj's!) then got dressed and went to the storage unit...loaded up the van and brought it back home. Can't see spending money on the storage unit when no one is even looking at the house, plus the garage only has one vehicle in it and it's free!! So, after I got that load unloaded into the garage, I asked the neighbor to help me and went and got the heavy stuff. We had it empty in 2 trips!! Then, while it was raining, I started trimming the shrubs in the front of the house, pulled some weeds (4 to be exact), and trimmed back the jasmine (vine). Got that mess cleaned up and came in the house.(12:30) Kids are vegging out....as usual. Loaded them up and took them for ice-cream (yes, I had some too...I'm weak.) Now I'm going to go do some more laundry. I'm ready for a nap right now!!! I think I've reached my maximum for activity today!!
Oh, DH & I ate out (w/ the kids) on Friday night, then again on Saturday night. This is not going to keep on!! I bought salad, tuna, chicken and some fruits & veggies and some low cal snack packs for this week...no more eating out!! Also, DH noticed I was out of rum and asked if we needed to stop and get some...I said NO!! The only thing I'm drinking this week is WATER WATER WATER!!!
DH will be home again on Thursday & Friday!!
This week I need to do some research on what is our best route for moving....PODS, UHaul, or moving company.
If any of you have any opinions, please let me know!!

ok...i'm gonna go lie down for 20 minutes....my eyes are heavy~

marie

Hi Marie-
You have had so much going on! It is completely understandable why you are stressed.
Hang in there--things are going to all work themselves out!
Hope you have a GREAT week my friend

Damn girl. I wish I could come down there and help you. PLEASE know I'm there in spirit, being a snarky smarty pants. :rolleyes1

Love ya girlie. Hang in there. It's gonna get better real soon.

Oh, and I like the Lean Cuisine/Healthy Choice idea. And I'm proud of you for getting the healthy food in the house. Nice job.

 Marie,

You have so much going on.... Keep on keeping on! Things will work out.:goodvibes

Have a great week!:cool1:

Things are going pretty good today....please don't jinx it!!
Boss hired someone for "R"'s job and she starts Wednesday-and she's experienced!! :thumbsup2 Which means R can be on my desk training full time!!:woohoo: Which means "probably" by July 15-20, I can be done there and devote more time to the move and the kids...although financially....it's really gonna suck!
Anyway, I found an article on MSNNews today...it talks about how the housing market is at a 4 year LOW!! Meaning, nothing is selling ANYWHERE. :scared: :confused3  That started to get me down, but then I realized, there is nothing I can do about it....it's out of my hands. I've done what I can do...the house looks great, it's clean...now it's up to the federal government to a) lower the interest rates, b) put a freeze on new building permits, and c) do something about the people that got the interest only loans, that are now coming due (ie-balloon pmt)...allow lower rates for re-financing or something!! (that's why there are so many foreclosures happening right now)
Ok...that's my political/government rant for today.

Food-
B-nasty mcgriddle like b-fast sandwich...actually it was really good, until I saw how many calories it was...then I stopped eating at 1/2 of it...540 cals!!!:scared1:
L-pb&j on wheat :thumbsup2
D-spaghetti w/ prego and chopped up hamburger also going to have a salad.
Water - 60 oz so far :upsidedow
Exercise-none :guilty:

Lets see....DH is back in AL...the van is fixed(under warranty!!)...the kids are happy..they go to Vacation Bible School this week!! They saw a bunch of their friends today, plus they were out of the house for 3 hours!!
Now then...I'm gonna balance the checkbook and pay some bills...so much for my "happy" day!! :sad2:

thanks for hanging with me....it's getting better....aside from the house not selling....and the weight coming back on....everything is peachy!!

marie

I bought some Hostess 100 calorie pack of cup cakes...there are 3 1/2 dollar size (round & not very big) per individual container...so 3=100 calories....so, here's my question....Would it really be that bad if I ate all 6 pack in one sitting? (only 600 calories!!) I didn't do it...yet...:rolleyes1 but heck, the things are so small it's only enough to really tick you off!! Oh well...it satisfied the chocolate craving!

So, DH went and got the keys to the apartment today. He said it looks really nice. (Still gonna take some getting used to...being in an apartment...:upsidedow ) He also finally went and opened the bank account...then called me and said he gave the woman the wrong zip code....would that matter....:rolleyes1 ? Uh...yeah...only if you want our checks and statements to find us. He called her back and fixed it! Then he called me and said..."ya know...this would be so much easier if you were down here..." I said, "yes, for me too dear!"

Food for today -
B-hardboiled egg..
L-tuna salad on wheat
D-southwest eggroll - 2
Water - 50 oz so far...almost 60 (will be 60 by bedtime)
Exercise - 1/2 mile walk this morning w/ the dog. (tomorrow I'll do it w/out the dog and go a full mile!)

What else...stress level is evening out...feel pretty good today...I'm trying to make plans to go to AL next weekend...we'll see....OH...my sister in AL is "talking" about taking the kids for a week....keep your fingers crossed....they really need some fun this summer!

ok....that's it for now...
marie

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I have done the math before too! The fudgesicles are only 40 cals! If I ate 10 thats only 400!

Hang in there!

:hippie:

Hey peeps!! How ya'll doin' tonight??
Things here are ok. Little bit of a reality check tonight. I found an article in the Memphis Business Journal (online) and it talks about how bad the housing market is. In MY zip code alone, there are 193 homes up for auction and 577 already foreclosed and bank owned!! :scared1: Also in MY zip code, there are 908 homes for sale currently.:sad2: WTH:confused3 So, after much thought, and a little research....(more to do of course) I think I'm going to tell DH that we are going to use a property management company and rent the house for a year. IF we can get the rent to cover the mortgage and the fees, then we'll be ok.
(throw pixie dust now!)

So, stress level is still pretty even...can't do anything about the housing market. DH will be home either tonight or tomorrow!!:woohoo: but I won't see too much of him...I'm shooting Thurs & Fri.
Ok...food -
b-honey bun :rolleyes1
l-tuna on wheat
d-salad w/ lite ranch
water-20 oz,
sweet tea-42 gallons
exercise-moved a bed from the attic to the van, to a friends house and unloaded it...(captains bed w/ drawers)

OH....I told boss my last day will be Tuesday, July 17th. :yay: :woohoo:  DH will be home on the 18th and we'll load up and go!! (that's the plan right now anyway!)
Ok...I have about 18 things to do tonight....I'll check back later!!

marie

 Marie,

I hear you about the housing market. We live near Cleveland and the housing market has absolutely tanked in this area.:sad2: Renting may be a good option for you and your family.:thumbsup2 My DH used to work in real estate and he dealt with a few rent to own purchases in the past. His best advice would probably to have an attorney hammer out an iron clad contract for you and to make sure that an extensive background check is done on all applicants. If you go the property management route, be sure and do a thorough investigation of the company, including reference checks as well.

I think you are doing a great job, Marie especially during this stressful time. :thumbsup2 Just think... in a few weeks, you'll be in Alabama and moving will be a distant memory.

Have a great day!

:rolleyes1 (sheepishly entering the thread):tiptoe:

You really ARE doing great, Marie through all of this. YOU seem to be there to cheer US up while you're going through a ton of crap. Don't know how you do it, but maybe I need some of whatever you're takin. TOTALLY KIDDING!!

Enjoy your time with your DH this weekend.

OH, and I got a new camera!! I love it. I pretend that I'm Ree Ree, the professional, awesome photographer. :goodvibes (got a LONG way to go)

Just wanted to stop by and say HI! Wishing you LOTS of :wizard: :wizard: pixiedust: pixiedust: :wizard: :wizard: pixiedust: pixiedust: :wizard: :pixiedust: pixiedust: wizard: For the house! I think renting could definitely be a good route. Just be sure you get a good management company and ask for enough of a deposit. People tend to be pretty rough on rentals. Maybe it will be better since your house is big and nice. I doubt college kids are gonna rent it and party too much in it :thumbsup2

Have a good weekend and try to destress some!! :goodvibes

btw, you reminded me what I forgot to count today.... sweet tea :rolleyes1 drank a couple of gallons myself :rolleyes1

just a quickie!!
DH left at 8 this morning...he'll be back on Thursday, then we're all going down for the weekend.
My agent put the open house down for tomorrow instead of next week...so......today....
10 am - getting my hair cut/colored/highlighted
The rest of the day will be spent cleaning...THOROUGHLY!!!
MAJOR CLEANING!!!! I'm even going to vacuum the dog!!!

I'll check back in with ya'll tomorrow night....I'm in rambo mode today!!!

Ok...the house is the cleanest it's been in 7 years!!! You could eat off the toilet seat!!(I wouldn't, but you can!!)

NOT A STINKING ONE!!  :confused3

I'm so fricking tired!! I'm mad, I'm disappointed, I'm everything you can imagine!! There was another house in the neighborhood that had an open house today too...she had a big fat zero as well. WTH people!!!
Ok...I'm not going to dwell on it....I can't. It's out of my hands. There is absolutely nothing I can do about it....and that sucks!!! If there was something wrong w/ the house, I could fix it, or if someone just didn't like it, well, then they have no taste, but for no one to even be looking??!!?!?!?!? FRICK FRICK FRICK!!! I can't believe this anymore. Ok God....work with me here!!! I want my family in one place, and I can't afford to have 2 homes...bring me a buyer please!! amen.

ok....i'm going to go sit and do nothing for the rest of the night....there is nothing I can do. Everything is done. House is clean, laundry is caught up, kids are fed and tired, dog is asleep.
Frick. :sad2:

Ok, well that sux. What was the apartment situation? 1/2 price or was it comped? I know this is hard, but I would agree, its out of your hands. Pack up and leave, and hand it over to a leasing agent. Real estate requires patience. I heard dave ramsey say that today (hes a debt reduction expert guy on the radio). The house actually hasnt been on the market that long. It just seems like it because you are in a bind. Renting it out may be the best option, hopefully to someone that would be interested in buying later.

If not you may have to drop the price farther than you want to. I know that doesnt seem fair, but thats what you may have to do.

Ditch that real estate agent, its ridiculous that there have been no showings.

Last but not least, you may like living in an apartment. I know we always think we want our own house, but a lot of pressure comes off when you dont have all that upkeep to worry about.

Hugs:hug:

:hippie:

Hey Linda...thanks for the advice!
I'm feeling a little bit better today. DH and I talked last night...we're giving it 2 more weeks on the market, then I'll call the property management company. My agent had a phone call Thursday and the guy wants to come look at the house when he's in town....the 12th-13th. I really hope this one shows up!!
We did get the 3 bedroom apartment, and it's for 1/2 rent. ($580) That won't be a problem...ONCE THE HOUSE SELLS!!!
DH and I talked about that last night too...it's gonna be tight, and alot of stuff will be in storage, but that's ok. It has a workout room and a pool...I'm in!!

ok...gotta get the kids ready for dr. appts today
later taters!
marie

Hey girl. I'm so sorry for the crap you're going through. Fricker realtor doesn't know who she's dealing with.

Hang in there, girlie. It'll soon be over & you'll be together again.

Ok...today was actually fun! Took DS to the ortho doc for his legs...(remember last year I freaked out about one leg being longer than the other?) Anyway, we are going to start going every 6 months to monitor it now (got the name of a dr. in alabama)...it seems to be catching up...a little bit. We also got 2 new lifts for his shoes today...thank goodness...the other one was pretty foul...been in his shoes for a year....
Also I reserved the u-haul trailer for this week...hopefully it will be big enough...and I went buy the moving box place to buy some boxes...gonna go buy Sams tomorrow...I think they have some. Let's see, what else, OH, I talked to the registrar at their new school...my god she was nice!! Gave me some pediatricians names and everything I needed to do once I got down here...she wants me to come in on Monday and register the kids....I'm going to see how my time is running.
Then, I had to take both kids to the pediatrician for annual checkups....I didn't know they were both going to have to have shots!!!:scared1: Man was my DS ticked!!! He HATES shots....really, REALLY hates them!!! Red face, big mad tears, the works!!! BUT, he made it through them...4 of them plus a finger prick for blood. DD had to have 2 plus the finger prick. After that we went for an early dinner, and I took the kids to Dairy Queen for being such troopers!! (I didn't order ANYTHING at DQ!!!)
Oh, then when we got home...(5:30 ish) I started getting everything out of the attic (the small attic...keep in mind, I have 2 attic spaces...one is actually the second unfinished area upstairs!! 750 sq feet!!) This one is above the garage...anyway, DS stood at the bottom of the ladder while I handed stuff down to him...good workout for both of us!! There is only about 4 things left up there and I can't lift them.
Tomorrow night we are going to see some fireworks, then Wednesday I'll have to get the expandable area empty!!
(we are going to take everything that goes into storage down this weekend...I hope anyway!!)
oh...food sucked for today....20 oz of water, no DQ, mexican for dinner...yeah...today was a bust!!

oh, and still nothing on the house....one of my neighbors down the street actually said..."Don't rent it out...the property value of the rest of the houses will go down!" I looked at her and said, "Well, I guess I'll just let you cover my mortgage then!" Then I said something about nothing selling so what difference did it make on the property value and walked away. I think I'm getting snarkier....go figure! :confused3
I'm tired...gotta work tomorrow.
later!
marie
