Marie's New Years Resolution~in July

Merry Christmas, Marie!

I hope you and your family had a wonderful holiday! :)

I'm glad to hear that your DD is feeling better and that the insurance situation is getting better too. I hope you can find a replacement van soon. :)

Have a great week!

I had a wonderful Christmas!!! Kids actually slept until 7:30!! DH got me a past/present/future necklace...white gold w/ white topaz.....it's really stunning!!!
The meal sucked....REALLY BAD!!! Ham was overcooked...anyone need some leather?? Baked potato caserole was burned on the bottom.... and I forgot to make the stuffing!! (it was just the 4 of us, so no one said anything but me!) The sweet potatos, corn and dinner rolls were good though!!! I told DH next year it's gonna be steaks on the grill, or chili....I can do those!!

Ok...so the van situation...I found out today that they aren't having an auction this week....so I start to get upset because that means another week of no vehicle...then the owner of our dealership tells me that he's made a few phone calls and I will have a few (1-3??) vans to look at tomorrow....they (Enterprise Auction) are going to bring them to the dealership for me to look at!!! I couldn't believe it!!! I told the owner "J" that I had to leave his office before I hugged him!! He laughed and said, "I told you I'd take care of it!" (Hopefully one will be worth buying!!) I'm still in shock!!

Ok....gonna go dismantle my Christmas Village now...yes, i'm a scrooge....I want my house back to normal....NOW!!!
(DH gets mad at me, but oh well!!! I'll take the tree down by Friday!!)

Hey lady!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!! Sorry I was M.I.A., but you know how it is. So much crap going on. I mean, it was a lovely holiday weekend. :santa:

How cool that you'll have your pick of some vans this week. That sounds awesome! Good luck!!! :wizard:

You really are a scrooge taking down your decorations already. Those poor kids of yours. :sad2:

That is great news about the van! Here is some :wizard: to make sure there is one that is to your liking.

I would love to take down my decorations this week while I'm off work, but I always wait until New Years Day or the day after. At least you are not like one house in my neighborhood who left their lights up ALL YEAR. They didn't turn them on, but come on!!!

I'm glad you had a great Christmas. You necklace sounds beautiful. Even if the food wasn't perfect!;)

Thanks for my pep talk, I really needed it!

Sounds like you had a great Christmas, Marie! I'm glad to hear that they have some vans for you to look at. Hopefully, you'll be able to find "the one."

Take care and have a great Wednesday! :)

Hey, Marie! I am finally catching up with the almost months worth of journaling that I have missed :faint: Sounds like you had a very busy month too!

I am glad to hear that things are finally coming together for you on the van situation. I hate dealing with insurance company's about wrecked vehicles. I think with all the run around that they have done already it is a major blessing that they totalled it!! I had an accident where my car needed body work and the AC had to be repaired (don't ask how that happened :confused3 ) and it took me FOREVER to get them to fix it properly. I hope that you find a van that you'll really love!! :wizard:

Good to hear that you had a good Christmas weekend also! :santa: I am sure that your food was still plenty tasty, don't be so hard on yourself!!

Hope you have a wonderful week and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I am sure that your food was still plenty tasty, don't be so hard on yourself!!

No, really....it WAS BAD!!....REALLY REALLY BAD!!

So, the van(s) never showed up today. Disappointed, yes....hopefully tomorrow. I'm just tired of the whole thing.

Hope you all are having a wonderful day. Is it Friday yet?

marie

I did something stupid this morning.....REALLY stupid........
I weighed myself.
170 right on the nose! It's official. I'm on a diet!
I went ahead and signed up for the January Exercise Challenge for 750 minutes.....it's time ladies.....start the support now...i'm in desparate need!!!

marie

ok....still no van!!! :confused3 I guess it's a corporate lease that they are supposed to be turning in....hell, I don't care anymore!!! I told DH I was going to go to another dealership tomorrow if we didn't have one in by then!!

I talked to the guy down the street that paints for a living....yep, another project!!! He's getting me a price to do the spare bathroom, and my DD ceiling, and I've already told him to go ahead and paint the garage! He's gonna do that Sunday!!! I can't wait!!!! Once the walls are done, I can start on the trim!!!! I LOVE PROJECTS!!!!

ok....gonna go un-decorate my house now. Christmas is over!!! Sorry, I'm a scrooge!!!

later taters!
marie

That is great that you have signed up for the Jan Exercise Challenge! :thumbsup2 Hopefully that will give you the motivation you need to keep going. Bummer about the van, what a nightmare! Hopefully that mess will get straightened out soon.

Don't worry about the scale, I bet with all your upcoming projects you will burn a couple thousand calories alone!

Right now, I need to burn a couple BILLION calories!!! :rolleyes1

Ok....the van showed up today and all I could say was OH My Gosh!!! The thing was awful!!! The outside of it was ok...except for the tires (bald) and rims (more brake dust on the outside than the inside!) Then I opened the doors!!! Whoever was driving this vehicle should have been ashamed of themselves!!! There was cigarette ashes all over inside, they used the cup holder as an ashtray, there was a hole in one of the captains chairs, and stains all over all the seats, and the carpets.....OMG!!! It looked like they had dumped some kind of oil all over them!!! I told the manager that there was no way I was buying this vehicle...he said he didn't blame me at all!! He was shocked and disappointed as well. Well, I told him I was going to do some looking....and I found a couple at some dealerships about 50-60 miles away. I talked to their used car managers and hopefully DH and I can go look at some tomorrow. They will wholesale them to my dealership and then I'll buy from my dealership. It's stupid really, but oh well.
Food today sucked. I have totally discovered that I am a stress eater. Let's see, I ate 2 pieces of coffee cake this morning, then lunch was speghetti & garlic bread, then dinner was 2 pieces of pizza....drinks today included 2 cokes and 1 sweet tea. Yes, this past week I've totally blown the sweet tea challenge!! :guilty:
Ok....so tomorrow DH and I are going to clean out the garage so it can be painted tomorrow. All of the christmas stuff is down, packed and put in the attic. I love having my house back to normal. Sunday, I think while the guy is painting, I might take the kids to a movie. They've been off for 2 weeks and haven't really done anything fun. I'm a sucky parent. I hate working when they're off!

ok...i'm gonna go put on my jammies and call it a night. I'm tired and cranky......so what else is new, huh? Heck, it's only been 6 weeks dealing w/ this fricking vehicle issue...you'd be cranky too!!! :sad2: :furious:

g-nite taters!
marie

O man marie-im sorry that you are STILL feeling with the vehicle stuff! what a pain! and im with ya on burning a zillion calories!

have a great weekend!

Okay, this van business is too much!! :confused3 I hope you can find a van soon! I'd be eating a lot too. Good job for getting signed up for the January exercise challenge. A new year means a new you! Hope the garage cleaning went well today. Just think of all those calories burned! Happy New Year!!!

Things are turning around guys!!!!
Drove and hour and a half to look at a van....LOVED IT!!!!...drove it home and I'll do all the paper work on Tuesday. :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
It's dark red, has all the toys that I wanted, plus a few more....(dvd player and automatic hatch opener thing!!) I'll take pictures tomorrow when it's not raining and post them! I'm so glad this part of it is over!!! Talk about a relief!!! So, that took most of the day....we left at 10:30, and got back home at 5!! Of course we stopped for lunch, then dropped off my bosses car, then went to the liquer store and then Sams Club. THEN, when we got home, I started in on the garage...DH came out and we got it done in about an hour!

It was a really nice day spending it with my family!!! We really had fun on the drive. DH and I talked alot too. I told him what my resolutions were, and he was ok with them!! I'm gonna let ya'll in on them in my next post....I have to go take care of a friends dog now though.

Have a great evening and I'll post my stuff tomorrow!

marie

Hey Marie. I'm SO glad you found a van! One stress down!!

Congrats on getting back on track. I think the WISH board is gonna explode with all of us doing the same thing! :rotfl: We're totally doin' it!!:thumbsup2

We're gonna be looking SWEET by the time we're in WDW next January for the 1/2 marathon!!!!! :thumbsup2

Glad the Vehicle stress is finally abating! It's sometimes the WORST 'cuz we rely on them so much!

I've been lurking, but haven't had time to be posting. Glad you're getting back on track like the rest of us!

Have a Happy, Healthy New Year!

So glad you finally found a van. That other one did sound just awful. Glad you got some good family time in yesterday too. You do seem to have boundless energy though. Cleaning out the garage ?!? Painting the garage?!?

Happy New Year!

Yay on the van! All that patience (OK, waiting :) ) paid off! :cheer2:

Sounds like you had a great day yesterday, just what you needed to turn things around! I can't wait to see what your resolutions are. I made one this year - to try a new, low-fat recipe every week.

Happy New Year!!!!

Ok....here they are....my 2007 Resolutions.

1) Go back on Jenny Craig. It worked for me 13 years ago, and it will work for me now. (Learn to eat healthier)

2) EXERCISE EXERCISE EXERCISE!!! After the garage is done being painted, (today) I am setting up a larger workout area for DH and me. Treadmil, weight/sit up bench, free weights. I think I'm gonna put a TV out there also...that way Bob and I can "visit" as well. (Don't know how/if that will work, but it's a thought)

3) Sign up for a 5K race.

4) Try to have more patience....

5) Watch my language. (I curse too much...goes with not having any patience!)

Ok....there they are. Those are the 5 things I'm going to focus on for 2007. Throw a bunch of Pixie Dust my way...I'm gonna need it.

Have a great New Year Ya'll!!!
Marie
