Marie's New Years Resolution~in July

good morning!!
I survived yesterday! About 9 last night I thought I was gonna die I was so tired, but I made it. I actually got home earlier than I thought...had time for a kaluha & cream before bed. Got up at 8 this morning...gonna try to bake a batch of cookies and clean the house....we'll see!

Ok...READ THIS AND BE CAREFUL!!!
My photog boss called this morning...his wife was robbed at gunpoint last night....IN THEIR DRIVEWAY!!! She had gone to the mall and got home aroun 9:15...they followed her from the mall to her driveway....she never noticed until she got home and opened her car door. They pulled up behind her and opened the door for her...one guy put his hand on her throat and put the gun in her face...the other guy took her purse, all the bags and her rings. They've already tried to use the credit cards, but they've been cancelled. My boss is really upset....and amidst all his cursing, i reminded him that the cards were closed, and that his wife was alive....that's the main thing. He calmed down after that. After I got off the phone w/ him I got upset....I REALLY REALLY HATE this town!!

ok....i'm gonna go bake cookies and be happy...tis the season....right??

WOW! That's brutal about your boss' wife! Good thing your boss had you to be the voice of reason and calm him down. Any chances of you moving to Canada and become a voice of reason for me when I go off on one of my Drama Queen tangents?

Glad to hear you survived your crazy busy weekend. How'd that baking go today? Hope you have a great week ahead with little stress!

Wow Marie!

What happened to your bosses wife is so scary! How is she doing? When we were in Orlando a couple of weeks ago, my DH's aunt and uncle came to visit us.... They were almost carjacked at a Publix and my DH's aunt was frantic.... I'm thankful that his uncle was thinking clearly enough to just drive away and leave the groceries behind. What a scary world we live in sometimes....

I'm glad to hear that the GM at work is ahem... no longer employed there. I hope it has lessened the stress for you at work.

I'm sorry to hear about the situation with your van... I hope it gets resolved very soon and that you get the amount of money you want for the van.

That is really awful for your boss's wife. I hope they catch the @&*!@^$ punks and I hope she seeks counseling to help her with the trauma. I know I'd definitely need some!

I hope you got all your cookies made without tasting any samples...

Hang in there, I think that job will happen, you just have to be patient (I know, it's not my strong suit either! )

Reading the story about your boss's wife sent chills down my spine! That is so awful and in her own driveway too. I hope she is ok.

Definitely let the insurance deal with the van. What a hassle to have to deal with on top of all the Christmas crazy stuff. Glad you survived your busy weekend. Hopefully this week will be calmer. How was the cookie baking?

Wow, Marie. I'm so sorry I wasn't online this weekend. I hope your boss's wife is ok. What a horrible thing. I really really hope you can get out of there next year. I'll be praying extra hard for that.

"Made" 3 dozen sugar cookies yesterday...you know.....slice & bake! The kids had fun decorating them, so yeah, it was fun (and easy!!) (and no, I didn't nibble either!)
Talked to the boss today....he's still pretty upset. Understandably so too. They are leaving to go to see some of the grandkids on the 21st and will be gone a week or so.....I think it will do them alot of good....he's been under alot of stress the past couple of months....his mother died in Aug/Sept....and now this. I'm actually pretty worried about him.

Ok...so I had to turn in the rental today...insurance co said that since they made an offer, I had to turn the van in (even though I turned it down)....$1300.00 rental. HOPEFULLY they'll find me a vehicle tomorrow at the auction. I told them what I wanted...we'll see.

Food hasn't sucked too badly lately....the past week or so I've really been watching my intake...both what is going in, and how much.
Breakfasts have been toast w/ butter, or peanut butter, lunches are grilled chicken sandwiches, wraps or salads, and dinner is usually a salad or soup....if I'm hungry. Exercise hasn't been happening lately....DH has been running again, but I'm in a little bit of a funk....the whole van thing.
Anyway, I've resisted all the sweets and junk food coming into the office! I'm proud of myself for that...I just need to get in gear on the walking and exercising. I REALLY want to do Bob, but I don't have the space right now....(i know, i know...excuses excuses excuses) if I can get through the month without a gain, I'll be happy.

Anyway, I'm gonna go relax for a while...gotta stay up tonight to get some wrapping done. I'm just glad to be done shopping!!

I hope they settle things with your van soon....

I am so with you on the exercise thing! I just can't get motivated to do it and I always manage to come up with a super lame excuse... At least you have your eating under control. Resisting all the goodies this time of year is half the battle!

Hi guys. HOpe you are all having a wonderful day!
I woke up to a 7 yr old crying, with a headache, sore throat and fever of 102.1 - 103.0. Yep, took her to the dr....and on the way she threw up...in my boss's demo... ....she has strep.
I hate it when she's sick...I hate it when anyone in my family is sick. (except the cat....I don't like the cat).
So, she's been sleeping for 2+ hours and i've been on the phone w/ the insurance, the room mothers, my boss, and I swept the floors.

So, how's your day going??

I'm so sorry your DD is sick. And strep really stinks. But it's better she got it over with now, right? We don't want anyone sick for Christmas. That double-stinks. That's awesome that she's been sleeping, though. Best thing for her (and you).

Hey guys....DD is feeling better today. She took a pretty long nap, and is full of herself tonight. DH is off for the next 2 weeks, so I'm back at work....yeah.
Food sucked today. One of our managers brought in HOMEMADE CANDY...chocolate covered cherrys, bourbon balls, mints, peanut butter balls.....all made by his wife! I had 2 choco cherrys and they were the best things I've ever eaten!! I didn't drink enough water...I forgot to grab a couple botttles before I left the house....
Anywya, DS is having a friend spend the night....should be fun....and DD and I are going to "make" some more cookies. I'll bring them to work tomorrow...I'm also bringing a crock pot of potato soup as well....It's my nice gesture....

ok...the insurance finally came up with a better offer on my van....$200.00 short of the payoff, so I'm happier. I'm not accepting yet though. They've made me wait a fricking month...they can wait a few more days. The owner at my dealership is going to the auction on Wednesday and said they should find what I want...(the one I was interested in last week had been wrecked and they won't put me in a wrecked one...it's nice that they are looking out for me)
So, keep your fingers crossed that they will find a van for me!!

Ok....gonna go eat a hot dog now and put together a scrap book for my boss's husband....nothing like waiting until the last minute, huh?

The homemade candy things sound heavenly. Have fun making cookies and with the soup. You are really "playing nice" with the people at work .

Glad DD is feeling better and will be happy and healthy for Christmas . Glad the insurance thing is getting better and here's that they find you a new van next week.

Merry Christmas! Hope yours was lovely! I , too, recieved homemade candy. I think I will take it to work and share it. That usually works! I ate so much that I can honestly say I"M NOT HUNGRY! Hope that lasts awhile!

The smilies still arent working. I am such a dork I just tried to put a "confused" smilie after that sentence! I better get some sleep!
