Marie's New Years Resolution~in July

OMG, Marie. Thanks for the laugh!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: I am SO picturing you smacking into the glass door. You're never gonna live that down!!!

As far as your hubby goes...don't let him put off the surgery. I know that pain all too well, and once it comes out, he will have NO pain. It's unbelievable. Are they doing the surgery laproscopically (no idea how to spell that)? That's the way my gall bladder was removed (and my tubes tied for that matter) and it's seriously no big deal for recovery. Yes, he'll be sore, and he'll have to hold a pillow to his stomach to go from sitting to standing, to sneeze and to laugh for a few days....but he'll be able to be up and around within hours, and mine was same day surgery! If you have any questions, please feel free to ask and I'll do my best to remember (it was May of 1998 when I had mine out, and one month later I got prego with Em - if that tells you how quickly you heal ;) ). Oh, and my gall bladder was the same way - it drained slowly, and it took them 2 years to diagnose. The sugery was the best thing I ever did.

Prayers for SIL and your mom. Why would anyone be jerking your mom around right now? That gets me mad. :furious:

Take care of you. You're the glue around there, it seems. Stop walking into walls and open your *($%$(*&^ eyes!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

NO WAY!!! YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!!
I had my first attack in August of 97...they diagnosed pluerisy (sp??), then a year later (August 18, 98) I had another one....went to a different ER and they knew what it was right away!! Had surgery (laproscopically) 2 days later....BUT they missed a few stones in the bile duct, and had to have another surgery a month after that.(Sept 19)..(talk about MAJOR pain!!) THEN, I found out I over the Thanksgiving weekend that I was prego w/ DD!!!!
To this day I blame the doctor! I tell people that I was not there when she was concieved, so there was no way she was mine. I still think the dr. took the gallbladder out and put the kid in!!!

wow....that's too weird!!!
m

ps...just told dh about you...he said he hopes he has better results than either of us!!! LOL :lmao: :rotfl2:

NO!! That would be AWESOME!! Think about how RICH you guys would be!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

That is a little weird. Maybe they flipped that fertility switch for both of us while they were in there!! hahahaha

I would have been one of the guys laughing when you smacked into the glass. That is always my first reaction. If it looks even remotely funny, I will bust up, even if it is one of my kids. All the other parents stared at me in horror when I laughed when DS took a spill in soccer (I couldn't help it, it just popped out as a laugh!).

I hope all goes well with DH's surgery. You must be cooking some raunchy stuff to be killing everyone in your family's gall bladder! Note to self - don't eat at Marie's...

As for your mom, I hope she kicks someone's butt. Give the woman a break! :furious:

so, here's my day in a nutshell...

get to the hearing specialist at 8:45....don't see anyone until 11:30...after I have a series of tests done, they tell me to be back in 45 minutes. I get back and wait some more....and more....and more. Finally about 2ish I get called back again...wait 10 minutes and the dr. comes in. Apperantly I have Otosclerosis. It's called arthritis of the ear. The inner soft bone has turned hard and isn't letting sound in. This has happened in both of my ears. I will have to have outpatient surgery to correct this. I got out of there at 3:40. I'm not in a good mood right now. The thought of them going into my ear and taking stuff out and replacing stuff is really just freaking me out. I got upset (cried) earlier when talking to DH. I told him that I honestly thought there was nothing wrong w/ my hearing...that the people I deal with just mumbled....ALOT.
I'm also a little upset about his surgery. The general dr. called and set up the appt w/ the surgeon for OCT 12!! no way can he wait that long! He's gonna have to call them back and tell them to get him in earlier!!

so, i've only had one beer so far. i think thats enough....ds wants a milkshake ....sounds good to me too~

anyway....that's my day...how was yours?

:grouphug: Hugs to you, lady. Give DH's doctor hell...no way he should wait that long!!

Don't mess around with your hearing. It's something we all need. You can get through this and then you'll be better than ever! :thumbsup2

I would be freaked a little about the hearing thing too. Do lots of research and that will probably make you feel better about it. :goodvibes

And whats the deal with waiting until Oct 12th? Is that a surgery schedule or just an appointment? I would be bugging them to death about that too! Squeaky wheel you know!

:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Did you hear that? ;)

Feel better!

:hippie:

I wonder how they can go from wanting to do surgery the next day to waiting until Oct 12? Doesn't make sense...

Don't stress about your surgery. My DS had surgery on his ears when he was little (He had tubes and his body grew tumors over them and when they removed the tumor it tore a hole in his eardrum). It was not that big a deal and the kid now has perfect (although selective  ) hearing. It will be so worth it in the end, try to focus on the positive outcome.

Hang in there! :grouphug:

ok guys....pity party is over. Just a little freaked out yesterday.
Called the dr.s office 4 times today. He now has a consultation on Monday at 9:30! :teeth: I guess I got a little fired up and they decided to take me seriously. :rolleyes1
So, after we get him taken care of, then I'll schedule mine. Every thing will be fine.

Ok....so today I had a protein shake for b-fast (YUCK!!!) Lunch was chinese food...(yes Amber, I'm not doing good on the challenge) and dinner is going to be whatever they serve at Bunco tonight. (tonight is gonna be my last bunco...long story...just not interested in the trivial, menial, childish BS anymore). Water intake was 24 oz, coke intake was 8 oz.
resisted the candy drawer.

Well, I did something tonight that I wanted to do for a few weeks...I went and checked out LA Weightloss. NO, I did not sign up. The program looks really interesting, and I'm sure it is successful, but it is also very expensive. After the woman explained it all to me, she said "do you have any questions?" I said, "yes. how much does it cost?" She said only $10 a week.....but it goes by their program...you want to lose 25 lbs...@ 2 per week, plus supplements and startup pkg, less 6 weeks free, plus LITES...blah blah blah....$560.00.
I said, "Well, let me discuss it w/ my husband and I will let you know tomorrow." Then comes the hard sell....Don't you want to suceed? Doesn't your husband want you to be happy and suceed? What can I do to get you started today? (When she asked me that last question, I responded w/ "Sign me up for free! :teeth: )....Then she started to piss me off. She says, "Say your husband came in and went through the same thing you just did, and he came home and said, Honey, I just signed up for this program! Wouldn't you be happy for him...and want him to succeed?" I said, "Well, first of all, succeeding is not the issue in front of us at this point. Second of all, my husband would not come in and sign up for a program like this, and spend that kind of money without discussing it w/ me first." Then she interrupts me and says "The money shouldn't be the determining factor of your success." To which I interrupt her and said "The money isn't the issue...discussing it with my husband first is the issue. We don't spend that kind of money without discussing it with each other first....it's a respect that we show each other." Then she starts in again about the success, and don't I want to succeed, and don't I want to be happy. To which I replied..."I am happy", then she interrupted me AGAIN... :furious: and said something about money standing in the way of my success....and then I interrupted her and said....
"I know I have a hearing problem, but do you? I think I already told you that I don't spend that kind of money w/o discussing it w/ my husband first...I don't know what it is about that statement that you don't understand, maybe I should put it in writing for you to make it clear. And actually, I don't think this program is right for me after all....I thought it was about succeeding, not making a buck. Thanks for your time!" And I walked out. :furious: :furious: :furious: Ya know....I understand that they have a job to do, but come on!!! I told DH that I would have been more likely to consider it more seriously if she hadn't pulled that last stunt. I don't need MORE STRESS!!
oh well....looks like I'm stuck here w/ you guys!!!
:teeth: :grouphug: :rolleyes1 (thank god!!! couldn't imagine being anywhere else!!)

ok...gotta go win one last time!!! (that's for you LInda!!)

Hi Marie-
Just wanted to stop by and say hi! Sorry about the lady making you mad--i hate when people are interrupting and arguing ! what a pain!
have a great night!

You dont want to do LA wieght loss anyway, my sister did it. Huge expensive. She lost a lot of weight fairly quickly, but its because they restricted her to about 900 calories a day. Well duh. Of course youre gonna lose wieght at 900 calories a day! This aint rocket science! She could only afford it for a few months and then she quit and gained most (maybe all) of it back. Try my tuna diet instead. I can give you a gooood deal on it. Heck I bet I can set you up for around ...say....60 bucks a month. You have to supply your own breath mints tho!

Kudos on using the "I'm hard of hearing" line a mere 24 hours after finding it out! :rotfl2: :thumbsup2

:hippie:

Sales people are a rare breed. I would have just walked out. I can't stand it when people try to pressure me like that. I think you would have better success on your own, you just need to find that motivation and make it a priority. You know what to do, you just need to do it! :teeth:

I'm glad DH's surgery is getting moved up. No sense in prolonging the poor guy's agony!

Linda, you are too darn funny!! $60 a month....AND breath mints....what a deal!!!

Yeah....I threw that out there just being a total smart@$$....totally unlike me...huh??!!

Yeah I should have walked out sooner than I did...BUT I was TRYING to be polite....another rarity for me!!

ok..i'll catch up more later!!
have a good one!

Marie - just another reason I need you here with me. I would have been too nice to that nasty woman. I don't know anyone that could just go spend that much money without discussing it with their spouse first. :furious:

You can do this with us, I know you can. It's time for fall cleaning. Clean out the cabinets, clean out the pantry and get rid of the temptations. Get the kids eating healthier too. I just started that back up with back to school. My kids needed it bad. They can have treats...but only the kinds that I don't like, and only when I say they can. (I know, I know...we'll see how long this lasts).

Take care girlie...and have a GREAT weekend!

hehehehehehehe~~~I won the doorprize at Bunco the other night!!!!
$60.00!!! then I sent an e-mail out today saying I wouldn't be playing anymore!! :teeth: yeah...it felt pretty good!!!

ok....nothing new here...still not drinking enough water, and not eating the best stuff...but hey....I'm breathing and that's fine w/ me!!!

love ya!!

I always thought the D in front of it stood for DIS. :confused3
DH=DisHusband
DS=DisSon
DD=DisDaughter
etc.

Ok....so I'm a DI (DisIdiot!!!)

Ya mean it's not DISperson???? Add me to the DI group! Until I read your post, I thought it was Disney (or in the case of my DMIL - Da*% Mother in law!) :rotfl2:

Trying to catch up on your journal. You sure do have a lot going on right now. Here's :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: for you and all of your family members. My DSIL (dear, cause I like her!) had her gallbladder removed a few years ago and it made all the difference in the world for her. I'm sure DH will come through with flying colors! Bummer on the hearing thing. Make sure to make time for you and get it taken care of. You were way nicer to the LAWeightloss lady than she deserved! Wow~ That was pretty hardcore selling. Your WISH friends are all here for you, and we are way cheaper! :teeth: WTG at leave Bunco on a high note! :rotfl2:

I loved the cotton pictures. Pretty awesome of you to clean out your DSis's garage. Want to come to CA and take a stab at mine? I am such a pack rat! I hope you are having a low key weekend and sending lots of :wizard: your way for DH's appointment next week. Take Care!

Mornin' guys!! Ok...so it's October 1st....I think it's time to join a challenge and get my butt back in the game. I'm going to join the exercise challenge. Do they still do the Lose 5 thing??? Gonna go check that out in a second. Not gonna make a big deal out of it...just gonna do it!!!

Man, yesterday was a long day!!! Went to both kids soccer games....DD won 5-1, DS lost 2-0...then had a wedding to shoot yesterday afternoon.....2-6:30. Really nice people...it was in their backyard. I'm a little sore this morning....lot's of up and down squats yesterday....lower back is sore. I got home around 7:30...(had a stop to make) and had a rum & coke for dinner. :sad2: pretty bad I know.

Today I am gonig to clean house, get out some fall clothes, and try to scrapbook. This evening I will run/walk and start my exercise routine.

Dang...I don't think I'm awake yet....
I'll catch ya'll in a little bit!!
