Maria and Enzo reviews?

We did Sunday Brunch there a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. Before leaving we took a look at the dinner menu and saw several things that we want to try when we go back.

We had dinner there on 8/24 and were less than impressed. The main dining room is large and noisy (cacophonous, really), the side dining area isolated and pompous/stuffy. The food was good but not everything that is listed online is available at the restaurant. The service was spotty; maybe because we were one of three tables in the "side room"? We felt like we waited for everything... wait for water, wait for ordering drinks, wait to order dinner. It wasn't a slowly paced service- it felt more like the waitress had the majority of her tables in the main room and we were in the side room. Anyhow... the food was very good, but the atmosphere left a lot to be desired. Given the price, I doubt we'll go again.

Any updated reviews? I just made a ressie there for Easter Sunday Brunch.

We've been twice and enjoyed it both times. I like the space and the theme - it's supposed to look like a old airport terminal that's been converted to a restaurant. It is a little less noisy than the average Disney restaurant, because of the big open room and carpeted floor. But it's not quiet like Citricos, say, or Tiffins.

Our service was good both times; a little slow for Disney, but frankly most Disney restaurants try to hurry you along so we were fine with that.

The food is good; it's run by the Patina Group, which also runs the Edison, Morimoto Asia, Enzo's Hideaway, Vivoli Gelato, and all the restaurants in the Italy pavilion at Epcot. It's not exactly adventurous, but it's well executed. If you're from a big city with great Italian restaurants, don't expect it to blow you away, but it's a significant cut above Olive Garden.

We ate at the Hideaway on our arrival day in November. It was a special family style meal called Sunday Supper.

You are served a salad followed by a charcuterie board and then the entrees. The main courses were a platter of roasted chicken, another of meatballs and finally one of sausages and braised beef. I see past reviews that talk about a salmon filet but I do not recall having this. Could be they removed the fish from the meal as all the other protein was more than enough.

The salad was quite nice. It had apples in it as well as greens and tomatoes and arrived freshly dressed. Definitely one of the better charcuterie plates we have had at Disney. It included artichoke hearts, firm olives, peppers and carrots...sort of a deconstructed giardiniera salad mixed with the meats and cheese.

Now about the entrees. The best to us was the short ribs, the chicken needed more herbs but wasn't overly dry, the sausages were stuffed w/ a good quality meat and the meatballs were light but not as good as the ones at Via Napoli, the only other Italian restaurant we've eaten at in WDW (we only eat Italian on vacation when DGD is with us since that's her fav cuisine). Had the 3 of us eaten all the food on the table we would have been rolled out the door so we just concentrated on the short ribs for the most part. The pasta was a bit overcooked unfortunately but when we sent it back to the kitchen a nice steaming bowl of al dente rigatoni came in it's place.

Finally, the desserts came out: a chocolate cannoli, a dish of chocolate and citrus gelato garnished with a pizelle wafer, and tiramisu. I tasted the ice cream and tiramisu and found the cake NOT over-soaked (a frequent boring thing done at a lot of eateries) and enjoyed the ice cream. The others at my table left not a sweetie crumb on their plates.

At this meal you are allowed to bring your own wine and not charged a corkage fee but since we left it in the room (sigh) we ordered a nice wine from the menu and were allowed to bring it back to our hotel.

When the bill came it was a nice surprise to see they charged for 2 adults and one child despite DGD being a Disney adult. The cost was $40.00 for adults and 19.00 for children. We were not on a dining plan that trip so I've no idea how the credits work but it was a nice OOP cost considering the sheer amount of food served.

I forgot to mention the bread service. The man and DGD enjoyed it, asked for more and it was served with dishes of olive oil. I'm not a big bread eater so didn't taste it.

Thank you for the reviews.
Does anyone have any info on the Sunday brunch?
I'm not sure if the brunch consists of both the buffet table for apps then a regular item off the actual menu. That's what I'm thinking it is but I definitely could be mistaken.

Thanks to all
