I was just reading another thread on City Walk resturants and could not help but notice the pics and info on Margaritaville. I've never eaten there but it appears I should.:thumbsup2

It would be me DW and two teenage sons. Does anyone have any recommendations on menu items they tried? Do you have pics? DO they have something that is specialty or something most people are not aware of?

Looking forward to lots of great info...Thanks in advance.:)

I've never been there before either, but from pics, it looks like the volcano nachos have my vote. We'll be chowing on nachos, and sipping on margaritas in June.....:rotfl:

I have eaten there many times and I always end up getting the Cuban Sandwich with either a bowl of Corn & Crab Chowder or an order of the Conch Fritters. Try to get a seat with a view of the videos and the volcano if possible. Although I have seen it several times I always love watching that volcano blow. Phins Up

I've never been there...what is the valcano, and video's?:confused3

The video is clips of Jimmy Buffet in concert and tours...projected on huge sail...really can't miss it.

Volcano is behind the bar..erupts every half hour (or hour...i forget?). You know when it's goin off...alarm sounds. ;)

We go EVERY year...sometimes more than once

There is a review in EVERY trip report since '07...including pix and menu.

It may take me awhile to find them and link them here...so, if you want to go in search of...be my guest.

But, I will try to link you to Mville here....

Be bak l8r :wave2:

From 2007 pt. 2:

We got 2 tables upstairs for dinner. VIEW from upstairs. And, another view and this view also. View of the upstairs bar. Bubba took thispicture of plane and this picture of the volcano.
Now, I know you want to see what we all had to eat....dontcha? :goodvibes Well, let's start with the signatureCheeseburger in Paradise and my turkey club and my turkey club WITH my souvenir glass that came with my 20oz. margarita...(Oddly enough, it's a good thing it was a souvenir glass, because if it weren't, we were going to make it one....if ya know what I mean ;) ) I do believe this was kids chicken and pasta & chicken something or other...really not sure who had it or what it is?! Somebody's onion rings and Colin's ribs (well, not his ribs, but the ones he ordered to eat off the menu!) I believe this was my son's grilled cheese and Ricky's spaghetti/pasta. Here's DH drinking from his "souvenir" bottle...which, did make it home with us! I think we should have more pictures, but there must have been duplicates or DH just missed some (he was taking the food pix tonight, not me..... boy, I have him trained well, don't I?)
After Bubba took this pictureand this picture too,I took his picturebefore we left.

From 2008:

Remember my nephew who got us with the water cannon at Dudleys? He was volunteered by our table for the Shaker of Salt part of the song ...and a fine job he did too!

The table ordered the nachos and calamari appetizers to share.

While waiting, the stiltwalkers made the kids balloons...swords seemed to be the request of the evening.

My crazy kid.

...and, it didn't take long to finish the appetizers. Have you ever seen an empty plate of those famous nachos?

DH had a beer while waiting for our food...which, didn't take very long to come. I'm pretty sure my nephew's eyes were bigger than his stomach when he ordered the barbecue ribs. I always order the chicken quesadillas appetizer for my meal (and that is plenty for me lemme tell ya!), a few someones ordered the Cheeseburger in Paradise, I believe Mom had the crabcake sandwich, I think DH had jambalaya , my BIL had the bayou shrimp pasta(but substituted the shrimp for chicken due to his wife's seafood allergy) and someone else had the California chicken sandwich. All delicious...as usual.

Just as we were digging into dinner...it was volcano time. We were seated right near the bar and had a great view of it. Matter of fact, we were at the same table tonight as we were the very first time we ate there.
Took a couple of pictures because of our close proximity.

Dinner done and volcano blown, we ordered dessert. Now, everyone was pretty full, so we ordered 2 desserts and 12 spoons :teeth: We ordered the Key Lime Pie and the Chocolate Hurricane. I think they made it around the table twice each before they were gone....and the Chocolate Hurricane was delish!

We wrapped up dessert and headed out to City Walk.

2nd time in 2008:

We had a very nice dinner...complete with balloon hats and faces made to Jimmy Buffet songs. Our niece & son and our other niece & nephew.

BIL had the Jambalaya (sans the shrimp), Mom had the Crab, Shrimp and Mushroom Dip appetizer for a meal (frankly, the appetizers are huge and could be a meal for small eaters)...as I had the Chicken Quesadillas, SIL had the Jerk Chicken, Bubba had the kids chicken, our niece had the spaghetti and I'm guessing our other niece had a burger...as did our nephew.

And, from last year..2009:

After getting settled and ordering our (two) nachos, and calamari, the kids had the poor stiltwalker making all sorts of balloon things. They started with parrothead hats, then some monkeys, then Bubba got the idea to make the monkeys attached to a 'hat'. Even Nana got in on the action, and SIL got parrotheaded too! Then they had some more monkeys on hats, even BIL got a bike (there was a joke with that one)....but all the kids decided to go with a gummybear party. Everyone got something...the kids more than 1 balloon craft!

Now, every year, I take menu pix. I don't know why, but I did, so here they are: soups/sides, salads, grille/catch of the day, adult beverages, burgers and beer/wine/desserts.

As for dinner, everything was good as usual...including my margaritas. There aren't any pix of food from dinner, because quite frankly, I was feelin the buzz and didn't think to! :rolleyes1 But, I know there are food pix in my past reports, since we visit Margaritaville every year at least once! Heck...here's one more of the famous nachos!

I don't know how anyone had any room for dinner since our table finished both plates of nachos and the calamari. :confused3 We even ordered two desserts for everyone after dinner. (Our norm is to get 2 desserts and 11 spoons and 'pass' the dessert around.) Somehow Bubba ended up with his own dessert? Ended up sharing with his cousin after realizing his eyes were bigger than his stomach! Here is a pic of the key lime pie...or, what's left of it.

My favorite used to be the Cuban meatloaf sandwich, but they changed it to a regular Cuban which isn't nearly as good IMO. The Jamaica Mistaica wings are the best wings I've ever had, and I don't usually order chicken. The volcano nachos are excellent, probably the best I've had. The cheeseburger is of course very good, as is the crab cake sandwich. As previously mentioned, the conch fritters are very good as well. The only thing I've ever had from there that I did not care for were the fish tacos.

We try to eat at Margaritaville on every trip, mostly for the atmosphere.

I believe the volcano is how they mix their margaritas. It's behind the main bar and when it erupts, green liquid pours down the side into a giant clear container with measuring levels. Here's the volcano picture from Universal's website:

My wife and I love chicken wings! So we usually buy the Jamaica Mistaica Wings:

Hey Bubba's Mom, I noticed that your husband was drinking a Landshark. Was that a Loaded Landshark (a Landshark with a shot of Margaritaville tequila)? My choice of drinks at Margaritaville are Loaded Landshark, Who's to Blame margarita, or the Incommunicado!

Oh and for those looking, here's the Margaritaville menu: http://www.margaritavilleorlando.com/templates/default/images/menu.pdf

ya know....I really don't know come to think of it? :confused3 Guess I'll haveta ask him.

If not, don't worry...we'll be there in July :goodvibes
