We are looking at doing both of these things. Any experiences?

We've done the helmet dive in Cozumel. It was great! Beautiful, clear water. They feed the fish while you're down there. The fish surround you. Amazing experience. I wish it could have lasted longer.

You get in the water right off the dock by going down a staircase. The one we did had changing rooms, lockers, and let you use their water shoes/boot things. They, of course, offer you pictures and a video of the whole thing. The video guy did a really good job. We bought ours. It was way over-priced though.

I did an extended review on tripadvisor dot com if you want to read it.

We have done both. Now, there is no Margaritaville underwater that you get to only by trek helmet, but give Jimmy Buffett time. We did do the Falmouth one on the dock and it was great...not quite like Key West, but you can still buy the t-shirt and get a cheeseburger.

I have heard mixed reviews about Falmouth excursions and then stumbled upon Margaritaville. I see that is only open to cruise passengers and is right at the port, so it seems safer, especially after seeing that a couple of cruises have pulled out of future stops at Falmouth.

It's just as safe as any street in Los Angeles or larger cities.

Margaritaville has a small pool, not really anything super fun. Food wasn't bad. In the port we got fresh coconuts and toured the area without going outside the fence. We had our young boys when we went 5-8 at the time.

We were on the Fantasy in April. We didn't plan anything for Falmouth except to get off the ship to stretch our legs and do a bit of shopping. We stopped at Margaritaville for a t-shirt and a drink. DD swam in the pool (it was cold) and we tried the hot tub---that was cold too. We went back on the Fantasy and enjoyed a less crowded ship. As for Sea Trek, we did it in Grand Cayman-----the highlight of our cruise! Enjoy your cruise!

I'm an avid scuba diver which is obviously different than sea trek helmet diving but I encourage you to do it. There's so much to sea under the sea.

Sea-Trek helmet drive is Cozumel is awesome. As said before, the pictures and video are expensive, but well worth the price.

I Would love to read the review you posted. Would you please attach a link.

I see a lot of reviews mention that the underwater time for the helmet dive is only about 20 minutes and seemed too short. Do you feel that way?:fish:

OK here's my dumb question for the day - were the helmets heavy? My 8 year old is small for her age and I worry it would weigh as much as she does! We all really want to try it though, looks so fun!
