We're planning to attend Mardi Gras on Saturday April 9th. Lifehouse is scheduled to play that night. A few questions:

-Just to confirm, the parade and concert are included with regular admission, right?
-What time is the parade?
-We'll have children (age 7) with us. Is the parade family friendly enough for them? Will they enjoy it?
-The park schedule says US will close at 8:00. But I read the concert starts at 8:30... is that correct? If we don't want to watch the concert, is there anything else to do or is the rest of the park closed?
-Can we safely get dinner at a City Walk restaurant after the parade without feeling like we're at a club? (Staying away from Pat O'Brien's and other bar-oriented places.)

Thanks in advance for answers and any other Mardi Gras info you all can provide!

The concert and MG parade are included with park admission. The parade usually starts around 7ish...sometimes it's more like 7:30pm. The kids will enjoy the parade...the floats are very colorful and of course...they can try to catch some beads for themselves. The concerts usually start anytime between 8-9pm depending on the performer so 8:30 sounds about right. Once the park is closed, no other attractions are open. If the Studios closes at 8pm that night, everything except the Mardi Gras related stuff will close too. Some of the stores toward the park entrance will remain open. Lifehouse will bring a huge crowd that night so if you are staying for the concert, you might want to leave a few minutes early to try and beat some of the rush. CityWalk will be pretty crowded that night so most restaurants will be packed with partiers. But you should be able to enjoy dinner w/o issues.

You might want to check some of the other MG threads...I posted some parade pictures you could enjoy.
