Mardi Gras Parade - Best Location for Bead Catching!!

Well I know this may be a bit late, but if any one is going for the last 2 weeks of Mardi Gras, I have come away with a NECKFUL of beads, and have also have not had to fight for them and also got to see the parade.

The parade comes out right between Jaws and Fear Factor. There is a small walkway back there that is lined with bushes. If you stand in front of the bushes, on the ledge, or heck even behind them as I saw about 10 people or so doing, you can see the beginning of the parade and get quite a few beads. I was right at the VERY start, about 10 feet from the gate they come out of, and no one said anything to me. I got tons of beads, and tons of attention from parade people. It was tons of fun.

By far, the best location though is right at the parade start though.

Thanks for the tip! I wondered if they were sort of conservative with the beads at the beginning or not...although we usually stand across from Chez Alcatraz (is that the name? ) and we make out great there even though it's pretty close to the start... :dancing:

Yes. The beginning of the parade route is a great place for bead catching. We were at the Mardi Gras parade last night and positioned ourselves between Fear Factor and the Jaws entrance. We caught plenty of beads and the crowds in that area are manageable. In the past, we've stood more toward the front of the park and the crowds have been overwhelming. No so in the back.

BTW, a great night last night. The Heart concert was excellent!

I findthe best place is on the Lagoon side right across from the entrance to Louies by Beetlejuice. The parade passes that spot twice.
