Mardi Gras at Universal

O.k. so we are planning a trip to Universal and will be around for the last weekend of their Mardi Gras celebration. HOWEVER, we are not at all interested in it so here's my question.

Does Universal close Islands of Adventure for the parade as well as Universal Studios or is the parade and other festivities held strictly inside Universal Studios?

You should at least try to see the parade...it's incredible and lots of fun for all.

My only "problem" with that is we have never been to Universal and felt like we might need the whole day to see everything/ride all the rides. Maybe we will be finished by then??
