Hello from Folsom.... I have a couple of friends and coworkers headed to WDW in early Feb. for Mardi Gras. ... BTW, this is the earliest MG for the next 50 years. Have fun and BYOB (bring your own beads) because WDW charges a small fortune for a dozen.
We went a few years ago, brought our beads after reading these boards and had a wonderful time. The characters really enjoyed receiving beads from us and we had a blast handing them to other guest (who acted like we were giving away gold chains).
Also, we were lucky enough to ride in the Downtown Disney Parade at Pleasure Island (my B.I.L. worked in entertainment at the time.)... basically golf carts decorated really well and the Krewe of Cleopatra from New Orleans was there with their head dresses on, throwing beads and doubloons. Believe it or not, but you'll probably see more people from the New Orleans area ... like going to local fair or festival. Wear Mardi Gras shirts to let everybody know ... You're from New Aw'lins.
