I am trying to decide on dates for March, 2007. The last time I went to WDW - it was 3/1-3/6 - and there were no spring break college kids.

Has anyone ever had problems with wild college kids? I could not imagine wanting to go to WDW when I was in college as a destination - but times have changed!

I am thinking about the third week in March - any opinions anyone?

Thanks!

I"ve never been during our March Break so I'm not really sure how much it effects crowds, but March 10th - March 18th, 2007 is Spring Break for many elementary/high school students in the province of Ontario, Canada. I think there are quite a few families that travel to Disney at that time.

We have been to DW 7 trips now, and my most favorite ones are the two times we went in March, once the third week and the second was the last week. I envy you! We can no longer go then, as our kids can't take time out from school. Anyway, your question...there were tons of college kids. They didn't bother us at all. In fact, they were kind of fun. They were there for the same reason we were, to have fun. They weren't unruly or loud, just having fun. I would give anything to go back in March again, for the weather! It is the most beautiful that month, nice and dry and high 70's. You are so lucky.

I teach at a college and our spring break will be the second and third weeks of March. Lots of my students go to FL on band/choir tours and with athletic teams. They will often end up at Disney for a day or two as a part of their tour. The band played at Epcot last year and had two days in Disney after they finished. Since it was the last concert of the tour, many parents came to join their children for extended vacations. The spring break talk in my classes usually focuses on plans for laying out....not rowdy park fun. Most of these kids may have been to Disney as a kid and are getting a kick of going back as a "grown up" of sorts. I suspect the biggest issue they may cause is large groups....but thats no different than a magical gathering.

We went Springbreak 2005 and are going again 2007. The weather is wonderful that time of year, not too hot, not too cold. It was crowded I guess but not that bad. There was a cheerleader competition at MGM when we were there :cheer2: but they were very well behaved girls and DS14 at the time loved that part. :rotfl:

My college breaks the first week in March, so that's always been 'our' week, we're there 2/28 - 3/11 in '07. Schools have different dates for their spring breaks, so there's no huge flock of students, or teachers, hitting WDW at the same time. Our week has been perfect for us, very little rain, and that usually being a short spritz, 75 - 85 for daily highs with mild nights. I never needed long pants and rarely a long sleeve shirt, day or night, in 6 trips of from 7 to 10 days each. Crowds are what I'd call 'Moderate', we hit a park at its opening, use FP, tour until 1 pm or so then hop to Epcot, which has the room to absorb crowds. As for 'wild college kids', I haven't seen wild anything in 8 WDW vacations, with the possible exception of large South American tour groups, and that only 2 or 3 times.

Many, many years ago I went to college at Florida State. During those years I never heard of anyone going to WDW for Spring Break (maybe it was "old hat" to most of them!) Daytona was the place to go. I went a couple of times myself and it was more awful than I can tell you (crowded and wild with students from all over the country!) I hear a lot more kids go to Mexico now. We have been to WDW during Spring Break as a family and crowds have been manageable, just avoid the week before and the week after Easter!

Thanks for all the great replies everyone - I am looking forward to March now - with no worries about the crowds!
