Sorry if this turns up twice....it didn't appear to work the first time.

Anyway, need a couple of questions answered. First, we initially were planning on going to WDW in March for my spring break (i'm a graduate student). However, now that I look more at prices and availability maybe we should go the second week of May. Is May cheaper? (mainly talking about flights).

Also, we get $500 a piece from my grandfather for christmas and this year it is going to be spent on Mickey Mouse :) So, for me, DS and DH...how much more than the $1500 should we budget..including flight? We are staying at POP and will be adding the dining option. OH, and we have about $60 in visa reward dollars. We aren't much on souvies...so i'm hoping the $1500 will cover most everything.

Then finally..we live in Central Texas where the lakes and water parks are plentiful so I was thinking of foregoing the waterparks during our stay...reasonable? DS will be 5 at the time and probably perfectly content with hotel pool..seems like the theme parks will be more of a treat.

Ok, sorry for all the questions I just haven't had time to get this all sorted out and I know I need to get started!!

I had this same question a couple of months ago. I went in March last visit but since we are staying onsite next time (for the first time), I'm going in May due to the cheaper rates as well. For us, the disney resorts are cheaper. Not sure about flights though. This will be our first plane ride for us.

Hi! We went in early May once and really enjoyed the lower crowd levels. The parks weren't open quite as late as they will be in March, but we felt like we got everything done. Yes, this is a cheaper time to go as far as WDW hotels and others go. I used to live in Texas too...DD's LOVE the WDW water parks ALOT...If your child likes the water/slides, you might really enjoy it.

Not sure about your budget questions...we're very budget minded and our family of 4 (two kids, two adults) spent about 1,900 when we went that time of year, stayed off-site, drove, and had 4-day park hoppers. We did a couple of character meals and a water park but not much else extra. We ate as cheaply as we could -most on property and the girls had own spending money that was separate. I bought Christmas ornaments and a tshirt.

Enjoy the planning the the magical trip! :flower:
