March or May?

Which dates do you think would be better crowd-wise?

March 16-20 (I believe that's AZ spring break,and cheerleading/dance convention starts on the 20th)

-OR-

May 12-16 (there's a 30,000 person dental convention in town starting on the 14th)

Also, does it usually rain much in March?

I'd go with May over March.. you don't risk early spring break mobs and the weather is warm but not quiet at it's highest. Even with 30,000 people in the area I can't foresee them all crowding into the park and they definitely won't be there during the day.

March is one of the months where it does rain a bit but it's it's definitely not a sure thing. Socal and Anahiem don't get enough rain to really worry about things... if it turns out to be a wet week you can pick up cheap ponchos down the street but mostly the weathermen get it wrong and it rains a bit for a couple of hours one or two days in the week. Do be sure to bring a sweatshirt if you go in March however, the nights tend to be a little too cool for that t-shirt to work.

I would pick May as well. Spring break sounds like it can be a mad house! If there isn't a big price point difference I would chose may for lower crowds and hopefully better weather

Wow. I had no idea that many people cared for dentistry. The words 'dental convention' scares the wits out of me.

But yes, aim for May, it looks like some of the rides refurbs will be done by then (but who knows about POTC), and the weather will be nicer.

How about March the week before?

One would think March would be better (cheaper to travel, disney deals, less crowds?) if you hit it BEFORE Spring Breakers, but you guys are the experts.

Thanks everyone! Unforunately with our schedule we can't go the prior week in March, so it sounds like May will be our best bet even with the dental convention.

No one really knows. They haven't been clear about the POTC refurb. Unfortunately, there's no list. The only "official" information we get is looking at the calendar, but that changes constantly.

May for sure. We almost always go in late April/early May and will this year too. It's a perfect time!
