Found a really good airfare from BOS to SNA in early March and jumped on it. Now to find a place to stay. I've got back-up reservations at the Farifield Inn right now. We would really like to stay at one of the Disney hotels though. Its kind of a celebration - I'm retiring!

In the past I've stayed at PPH (probably 6 years ago) and DLH (just last month) and the GC is definite for a trip in August. So its not like I need to stay at a Disney hotel - its just that I'm kind of a hotel snob. :snooty:

I've looked at the booking rates right now and they are pretty high with PPH at about $260, DLH at $340 and GC at $440 per night. Anybody have a feel for if there will be discounts for early March (3/3-7)? We're AAA, Senior's, DVC (no points left this year) and Premier AP holders.

Have discounts been available for early March in the past? So far all I see are discounts that expire the end of February.

It's quite likely early March will have a disount. I've seen some posters say the Senior rates are best anyway.

If you want to stay at the Disney hotels, you can make a reservation that you can cancel later or change to a better rate.

Thanks for the good info folks. I'll keep my Farifield Inn reservation but keep looking for a deal at one of the DL hotels. I can cancel the FI right up to 6:00 pm on the day I arrive.

Just checked again today and I see that there are AP rates available then. Now comes the serious decision making... :headache:

I do not yet have an AP but am considering it. When I called to ask about the first week of March, though, the AP rates were only 10% off the regular rates. Have they come out with bigger AP discounts for early March?

I am afraid that they will not come out with any more discounts for early March because they have that "one more Disney day" package for those dates - it doesn't do any good for me because I don't have an extra day (kids have school)!

It looks like the AP discounts for early March is 10% right now. I'm going to hold off booking to see if something better comes up. Right now I'm staying at the Fairfield Inn for fairly cheap. But I'd be willing to splurge on GC if the discount went to 25%.
