March festivals, events, conventions?

How would one find out if there are any big "events" planned? I have come up against cheerleaders, girl scouts and gay pride to name a few. I was hoping to go to an empty park this time. (yea, right!) But seriously, I would like to plan at a less busy time. How do I find these things out? March 26-30. Thanks.
