My family and I are going on a 4 day Disney Cruise March 11, 2007. I am looking for advice of flights. I can book Jetblue for $119 leaving March 8 and $99.00 returning March 16. We love Southwest and have flown with them many times. However Southwest has only opened up till March 9th and the cheapest flight to Orlando is $145. What would you do? Play the waiting game and hopefully a DING/Tuesday special will come out?

Please try and help me figure this out.

The transportation board has a thread of historical Ding data. It's not perfect, but if you look through to last March break, it should give you some idea of the prices typical for that period.

Thanks for the advice, Dh justed called me at home and asked for our conf # from SW. We are going in Dec and rec'd a $280us credit so we are going in Mar. The fares are high now but usually are for another month or so. Thanks again

I'm sorry but a small hyjack:
ont/ohana: from what you just posted, were you able to today get a reduced rate for Dec 2006? There is a sale at SWA today (with MCO as their featrued destination) but so far all the dates I looked at for Dec/Jan are still $145 One way .

I would appreciate any info. you may have to offer.

chowboys: IMHO, that sounds like a good price. Even when March DINGS come out, SWA may not make unavailable the dates you are looking ofr since they are peak travel dates I think anyway.
Perhaps someone else could offer comment?

Hi Chowboys....

Its a tough call to make....personally I would gamble a little while longer for SWA flights. Especially because they are direct flights. With both jetblue and airtran as back up I would take a chance.

Hello,

Thanks for all your help. I decided that I could not wait anylonger so I booked SW for March 7th for $109 to MCO and Jetblue for $99 to Buffalo on March 16. Total for 4 of us was $953.60. I know it is alot more that the $790 I paid for our June trip but we are going during March break and besides it is cheaper than flying out of Toronto.

Cheers.

I think I got ripped off by my travel agent. She charged us $760 each from Wpg to orlando. Nonrefundable tickets, so it's too late now. :sad1: I guess I shouldn't have just trusted her. That sucks.

There are TAs on the board who might be able to confirm or deny the rip-off charge, and whether or not there's a governing body that regulates travel agencies. You might want to post this as a separate thread. If you don't want to publicly post travel details (date, flight, airline) you may wish to offer to pm if any TA offers to help.

My jetblue return trip (March 16, 2007) has now gone from $99.00 to $69.00. I now have a credit for 120.00 to use.

Since you know what airline you are travelling with,go directly to their website and compare the price. Unless you have a spectacular package deal through a TA....book online yourself....its easy...and cheaper :goodvibes )
IMHO
