March and April are generally not very good choices. Those are Spring Breaks for schools all over the country and so the prices are higher, and the availability is lower and the parks are more crowded.

I would choose to go the beginning of May. You will avoid the Spring Break crowds, have lower prices for the resorts and have beautiful weather. You will need to make your resort reservations and figure out any sit down or character meals you want to do ASAP. Reservations for those meals begin being taken 180 days out.

I'm going the very end of April into the first week in May. Prices drop that week and it's not too warm and not too cold. I made my room reservations back in October and have started to plan where I want to eat so I can start making my advance dining reservations (ADR's). Like LTS said you can make them at 180 days out. I find that the more planned out the days are the better the trip goes, especially for a first timer.

Begining of May would be perfect. It will be a little bit hotter but you wont have to deal with too many crowds. If you'd look to go in a cooler month and don't mind a heavier crowd, go for March! :)

May May May!
It's a great time weather wise and crowd wise.

I have never been in May. However, I have been the first week of March and Easter week which happend to fall in April that year. We went this last September. I am from Illinois. I thought How bad can the weather be it is September. BIG MISTAKE!!! I would think May would be somewhat comparable to September. Just a guess. Sorry I got off track.

April's weather was not bad. I would avoid Easter week & 1-2 weeks in either direction. HORRIBLE CROWDS!!!

The first week of March was a dream. Great weather, highs between 75-80 Crowds were good. @ 15-20 minute wait for prime rides. Dining ressie's still need to be made in advance.

The price difference really is not that much when you consider the price of a Disney vacation.

March has my vote. Stay away from Easter weeks depending on when they fall.

Good luck

This past year my family went the last week in April & the weather was perfect. The mornings were warm & pleasant, low humidity & by after lunch when (with little ones) you want to take your afternoon break it was warm enough to use the pool before or after the kiddo's nap. :goodvibes

I'm really hoping to be able to go back again this April. Last time while the parks weren't empty, it wasn't crazy crowded either. As long as you take your time & don't try to see & do *everything* it's a great time to go. Since Easter and many (but not all) spring breaks are early this year I'd think you'd want to avoid most of March.

We went this year 4/25-5/1. It was awesome. The only mistake I made was going during grad nites so we had to avoid MK for those 2 nights (they are typically the last 2 Friday and Saturdays in April. Weather wise it was not too bad. The mornings were fine as long as you get to the parks early. We always took a break by the afternoon for a swim and it was heaven. Evenings were the best though weather wise. It was not humid and there was a nice breeze. So to answer your question, I'd say end of April/beginning of May. By the way the Epcot flower and Garden show is in May and is absolutely beautiful. We already book for 4/30-5/7/08. Can't wait! :cool1:
