Disney grownups aren't going to like this....$15.61. :scared1:

At least they are not 6 Flags. Their stock is below Citicorp at 21 cents p/share today.

Start buying it up now! Cant beat that rate! :thumbsup2

That's part of the on-going problem. No one seems to want to risk buying anything. Seems the "stimulus" hasn't done much for Disney--or any other company for that matter.
If I had any $$ left in my 401k as a reserve (which I don't , having seen it shrink in half) $15.61 would be a good buy.
I do have a couple of quarters, so I guess I could buy a few shares of Six Flags--

I need like another month and I'd be able to buy. If it's that low in another month, then I'll be buying!

My guess is that you will be able to snatch it up at the current price in a couple of months!

I bought stock today -- not Disney, but I actually bought something for the first time in over 3 months, and I don't plan to day trade it.

That must mean something.

I think the Disneys folks are hoping it's still at $15. in a couple of months.

Let's see how much $$$ p/psn the parks are bringing in this quarter. Doesn't the quarter end 31 March? The news after last quarter was very bad...especially if you were a castmember. If Disney is still unsuccessrul with advertising revenue on it's television channels and worse.....still down at 53% of income p/psn in it's parks division.....what will they cut next?

Yes, the quarter ends March 31st -- but many analysts will release their predictions about stocks in advance of company reports. They're not always right, but I like to read the basis for their assumptions and then compare them to what they say after companies release their numbers. A lot of times, they will discuss issues in depth that a company tries to keep a little quieter.

These stock numbers are pretty scary, but for me as a young working person who has not yet accessed the market, it does give me a little hope that I can afford to jump in....the question is how.

Anyone know a good resource to do stock research. I'm having trouble understanding the basics.

I watch Business News Network, also at BNN.com -- it's a Canadian network but they have a lot of US analysts and discuss US stocks and markets. I especially recommend watching Market Call (you can watch past shows online) since the analysts really explain the state of the markets and why they are making a call on each of their stocks. They are so well respected that stocks will move within minutes of them making a recommendation.

If you are trying to learn more about how to invest, I recommend watching all of the reports, analyst coverage, and recommendations about a few cpmpanies that you know well eg. WDC, Gap, McDonalds. Then you can compare how they view these companies with what you know from real life.

Good luck!

Maybe I will have to buy some stock if it stays that low. At least I can add it to my already depressed 401k.

Just to let you know, I don't know that the BNN.com link will work. It's BNN.ca that will definately work. I use it all the time.

Hmmm...throw a newby to this a bone...how do I go about purchasing stock???:confused3 Specifically WDW stock???:rolleyes1

if i had any to spend, I'd buy at this price. If the market gets better Diney will do well & if it continues to taak your problems will be so awful, you won't have the time or means to worry about your loss!

Cruella: I'd try one of those companies that advertise on TV--just a few bucks a trade, etc. and all can be done online.
