I was on the Wonder two weekends ago and had the opportunity to discuss with people how the new format was going. In general parents and kids seemed pleased with it. Certain activities are geared more towards younger and certain more towards older. From what I observed, kids were still grouping with similarly aged people, and everyone was having a great time. I also talked to a couple of people who really appreciated the fact that their children could be together, older one could keep an eye on younger one, when that wouldn't have been possible before. I have all of the Navigator's from the cruise if anyone with children would like an idea of what the new format looks like.

My son will be so happy he can go to the Lab. Im not saying anything though Just in case it changes. He'll be 7 in May, but really loves the "stuff" in the lab. I'm getting so excited, can't wait!

I guess I didn't know the format was changing, I thought the kids were grouped by age and we even registered them for the labs based on that. I would love to see a copy of the new format. The thought of both of the kids being together is wonderful - my daughter is worried she won't know anyone, but it would be awesome for them to have each other.

I would love to see what the new format looks like. Our kids are signed up for it.

I will get the Navigator's scanned as quickly as I can. Until then here is a quick overview of how this change works on the Magic. I am adapting this from the Wonder Navigators so there may be a few differences.

13-17 year olds are still in the Stack and the age restrictions stand DCL has started a new program where the teens get to set up the schedule of activities for the week and it has gone over extremely well

11-13 year olds are still in Ocean Quest and this age restriction also stands (on the Wonder there is no Ocean Quest so the new format would apply to all 12 and under)

3-10 year olds can choose activities from several "series":
Clubhouse Series (recommended for 3-7 year olds)
Storybook Series
Jump Up! Series (recommended for 8-10 year olds)
Create & Invent Series
In the Spotlight Series (recommended for 8-10 year olds)
Solve It! Series
Out & About Series (recommended for 8-10 year olds)

All children 10 and under can be checked in at either the Oceaneer's Club or Lab on Deck 5 based on which activities they want to participate in. Whenever its time for activities, the counsellor's will offer kids the choice of what they want to do. The activities are listed on the Navigator by location instead of by age group and have color coded mickeys to match the series the activity is a part of. Activities more geared towards older kids are still in the Lab(formerly for 8-10) and those geared towards younger kids are still in the Club(formerly for 3-7) A lot of parents were worried about the younger kids mixing with older kids, but this has not been much of a problem as kids of certain age groups tend to gravitate towards certain activities (i.e. Lights, Camera, Improv vs. Do Si Do with Snow White.

Navigator's will be ready soon. Let me know if you have any more questions as my description above seems confusing, lol.

Working on FE stuff tonight :) Got my stuff for the kiddos under 3 done, and all my adults done (unless of course more get added ;)

Now for the rest of the kids.....

Looked at the chart, still missing Genders for 7 kids and all 4 teenagers. A couple of my "trinkets" are gender specific, would really love to know if they are boys or girls.

Anyone else been putting stuff together?

We are trying to get things sorted out and ready also...It is fun to get little surprises for everyone

well I'm not doing the FE this trip, but let me know if you will be going to the meet at 3:00pm at the Promenade Lounge on the first because I'll be making something for everyone, got they idea from someone on a past cruise

We are planning to be there and meet everyone face to face....we ought to get a group picture of everyone if we can at that time.

No FE for the 2 of us but would like to be at the meet and greet. Does anyone get anyone from the ship's staff to attend. I have done this before on other cruise lines and the staff usually has something for the group. At least that's what happened when they had the cruise critics groups meet.
