March 5th Might Be the Day for Free Dining

It seems like a lot of teachers (northern) take advantage of FD. These dates are very late for them. That is our delemma. WDW could lose a section of these families?

It also could lose families that won't pull their kids from school or travel that close to the start of school

If the idea behind late summer FD is to bring northerners down when the south is back in school, these dates may not work well

Canadians already got the 17th, so not coordinating those dates seems odd

Also seems a bit odd that it would start on a Saturday which would be a busier day

As teachers, we suffer through the heat to go the end of June and any discount would be welcome: FD or resort discount. Every penny saved will be spent their anyway.

I would guess little chance. They don't really have free dining discounts for the busy summer season. From what I read on Mousesavers, out of the 8 years they have offered free dining, June 1 and 2 last year are the only June dates that have ever been offered ever for a general public free dining discount.

weird. The public site has the 30% discount extended booking to March 31 for the same travel dates. The TA site took down the spring offer all together and has nothing.

Well that's a good sign for something coming March 1st hopefully free dining but
I wont get my hopes up

Just got off the phone with Disney and a very helpful CM offered up some Free Dining info. He said that AP holders should keep an eye out on March 1st while general public would be able to book on March 5th. The dates he had were for August 25 through September 29. Not sure how accurate he is but we are certainly hoping that he is!!

So a bit of good news......i called my chase about my disney credit card and acted annoyed that i never get the promotional emails. I told him that i really wanted him to make sure that he has our email settings to get those. Then i had him check my other cards with them..... after that i said i was really worried i might miss free dining like i almost did last year. So i asked him to check and see if anything new is comming up like free dining. he told me there was some big changes comming tommorow and i should DEFINITELY check back.

I told him that i really wanted him to make sure that he has our email settings to get those. Then i had him check my other cards with them..... after that i said i was really worried i might miss free dining like i almost did last year. So i asked him to check and see if anything new is comming up like free dining. he told me there was some big changes comming tommorow and i should DEFINITELY check back.

If this is the case looks like we will be checking in on the 25th and out on the 31st or 1st !! Ill be waiting

WDWINFO is reporting that Disney Visa holders are now being offerred free dining for 8/25-9/29, so the first part of this March 1/March 5 information on this post came true! Hopefully the general public offer will come out Monday!

It stated in the Visa release to travel agents that it will go to the GP on Monday.

What do you mean by limited? The amount of dates within the offer (aug 25-sep 29) or the number of rooms available with the offer? Or something different or all of the above?! Thanks!!!

From what I heard, no one can get Pop, and a lot of the deluxes are booked up already. I hope they open up more rooms.
