March 5, 2011 - Bushwacker Wild Wild Westerners

Is there a booking code needed for the KSF? When I go in to price it out I don't get my kids free. Am I doing something wrong? Is it over already?

Shoot! We are currently booked in an inside GTY room. The price was only $200 more to upgrade to a verandah. I sent an e-mail to our travel agent to change the room. In the one hour that it took her to make the change the price went up. We are now still in our inside GTY room. :(

HOLY COW! Prices are jumping up and down! I ended up finding a really good deal for us to upgrade to a verandah but we are switching to a different sailing, week earlier. So this is goodbye! I'll tell the mouse you are coming!

Wow! I'm glad that so many of you saved money on the cruise!!! :cool1:

I saw MicDay post that on FB and asked Russell if he wanted to take a couple of kids along with us since they sailed free. First, he looked :scared1: and then he was :rotfl:. Guess we'll stick with just us two. :goodvibes

Jennifer, sorry you won't be joining us but glad you get a verandah room!!!

Hey D~
I can find you a couple of kiddos to take... It will be grandparent practice for you guys.. Heck, to make you feel like you are "saving money", you can have ours. LOL....:lmao:

Hi! I just booked this cruise and we are so excited. It will be our first Disney experience with the exception of DH when he was in high school.

Can't wait to read and get my feet wet on these boards. There is so much information it is overwhelming!

Thanks, Tink but we wouldn't want to DEPRIVE you of your pride and joys!!!! :rolleyes1

WELCOME AMANDARG!

Glad to have you onboard!!!! You'll find we're a pretty fun and crazy group!!!!

Thanks for the welcome, Donna!

I think I have caught up on this thread, but it will take me a while to be able to keep up with everyone. Good thing I have six months to do it (but wish it was much closer!)

Glad to know that most have done DCL before. I'll probably ask tons of questions!

Hope everyone enjoys their Labor Day weekend! We are excited that college football has returned!

Welcome Amanda!!!!!! SO is it just you and your DH sailing??

Being your first Disney Cruise let be me the first to tell you, that you will NOT be disappointed!!!! This will be our 5th Disney cruise, and we have always had a GREAT week!!! Although, this is our first western cruise , I need to do some researching to figure out what all we want to do at the ports...

College football??? My DH is a HUGE fan of college football, we live in Husker Country, he actually went to school at the University of Nebraska. :cheer2:

Well....fall is definitely in the air here in Western Nebraska, we woke up to the thermometer showing 37 yesterday morning, fall is probably my favorite time of the year, I Love the cool crisp mornings, (and the idea that farming is coming to an end for another year LOL) our fall harvest is going to be early this year which is a GOOD thing!!!!!

This weekend is our home town celebration (where both Ron and I went to High School... Population around 500 LOL) so we are going to take in some of the goings on there....Ron is actually having is 30 year class reunion as well ( we both graduated with 12 kids in our class)...30 years OMG that seems impossible???? I told Ron that I should be Pretty Darn smart by now, beings how 30 years ago (at 17 years old) I thought I knew everything LOL!!!!!

Hope everyone has a Great Labor Day Weekend....I am off to get ready for 20 girls coming over this morning to Tie Dye T-shirts!!!!!! (Kaylee's V-ball team) :scared1:
Okay.... maybe I'm NOT as Smart I thought I was LOL!!!!!!

Hugs to all

Welcome Amanda!!!!!! SO is it just you and your DH sailing??

We will be bringing both of our daughters with us. They are the biggest reason for choosing DCL. We will be celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary next August so we will be cruising in the spring to celebrate as our oldest starts school next year. We were married 15 years before becoming parents, so we really wanted something we could all do, and still have some just us time as well. DCL fits the bill!

I have no doubt that your husband comes by football honestly! I grew up in Oklahoma (therefore am a die-hard Sooners fan, but they won't be in the same conference for much longer!).

I have seen on some other threads something about FEs and little goodie swaps. Is this group interested? I know that we will be cruising during Mardi Gras and that could bring a fun element to it.

Adios Jennifer and WELCOME Amanda!!

You've probably noticed quite a few of us have cruised together before...some of us more than once... and obviously it was a good experience to keep doing it over, and over, and over...:thumbsup2

You're going to LOVE DCL - espec with the little kids. Ours were 4 and almost 2 on our first cruise, and hard to believe that on this one - our fifth - they will be 10 and almost 8!!:scared1: Where does the time go!?!?!?

I've been a slacker as the "keeper of the spreadsheet" - collecting in one place then sharing with the group everyone's real names, kids names/ages, staterooms, etc. but I promise to get back on top of this REALLY soon. I'll post another message about it since we have a few new people.

Ciao for now!!!
Johnna

Okay - I'm going to get back on track with this spreadsheet!!

For the newbies: in order to get to know each other better prior to the cruise, I am collecting the following information from everyone and sharing it via email so we can have it all in one place. Please PM me (send me a private message) with the info and I'll collect it all and send it to you.

Feel free to share as much information as you wish - and if you prefer not to, that's fine. We will only share the spreadsheet with anyone who wants to participate.

Here is what I need:
MOST IMPORTANTLY: your email so I can email the spreadsheet to you

Screenname
Who's traveling in your party? - Names of adults, and names/ages as of sailing of kids
Where do we hail from? (city/state, or state only)
Cabin #
Dinner Time (main or late)
This is our [fill in #] Disney Cruise
Special Celebration or other notes

Thanks!! Johnna

Although I have lurked on these boards for ages, I never comment. As such, it says that I can't send a PM until my count goes up. I guess I will have to make some comments?

Does anyone know what shows will be on-stage on our trip? Is it the villian show? Did they get rid of the Golden Mickeys on 7 night cruises?

Jumba - I did get the PM with your info - thanks!! But you forgot to inlcude your email, so I can't send the spreadsheet when I update it. So send me another PM with that info please. :goodvibes

I think there must be something on the main boards with the answer to this question. I'm pretty sure they did do away with the Golden Mickeys, but I can't be positive. Maybe someone has posted some recent navigators with the info?

Hey everyone,

I used to dominate these boards and have gone silent for some time, but I want to thank Brenda for alerting us to the recent KSF special. :worship:

We saved $1,100, so I can think of 1,100 reasons to thank her. Or at least pick up a tab or two in the Rockin' D bar.

Mark

I have the feeling we are going to be flying by the seat of our pants on this trip! I am learning so much from the boards, but feel like I still have no idea what to expect on the ship!

It must be nice to vacation with old friends! None of our friends have been cruisers, so maybe we will make new ones on this trip!

LOL!!!!! I would LOVE to take all the credit for this but I do have to share with MicDay...if it wasn't for her post, I probably would have have missed it myself!

But done the less, we will go ahead and let you pick up a tab or two for us at Rockin' D bar:thumbsup2,
But we insist, dinner before hand is on us :rotfl: :rotfl: LOL!!!!

That you will!!!!!

I know that it does seem all so overwhelming, but trust me it will be fine! And seriously if you have any questions you can ask us...

One of my favorite tips from the boards is the over the shoe holder!!! Traveling with 2 teenage girls, it is a must for us, I know that not everyone is a fan of them, but for us it works!!!
I hang it on the front of the shower room door, so that way if someone is in the shower we can still get stuff out of it.

I put sunglasses, sunscreen, lotions, hair products, Ron's shaver, deodorants, make up, tooth brushes, toothpaste etc etc pretty much EVERYTHING (except for shoes LOL!!!!)..... as well as $1 bills for room service tips.
Not only does it help with everyone asking were something is, it really does helps eliminate ALOT of clutter... Just make sure that it is one with the clear plastic and not one that you can't see through the pockets LOL!!!!

Another thing that I do different from our first cruise is that I do NOT bring our own shampoo lotions etc, Disney has the H2O products which we like.

OHH..... I just thought of something else I just did for the first time last year and will do again, this will certainly sound CRAZY to some, but here it goes anyway LOL..... I bring a bottle of hand soap, it is SO MUCH EASIER and less messier than a bar of soap, and for the .99 cents that it cost me I just throw what ever is left away, just make sure if you do this that you put it in a ziploc bag or TWO before packing it in your suitcase just in case!!!!!

Just know that we are here for you and whatever questions you may have ;)
