March 5, 2011 - Bushwacker Wild Wild Westerners

Thought I would give our thread a much needed Bump :goodvibes
as well as a Big Welcome to Jumba and family!!!!:)

Heads up for all you Southwest flyers....the dates are open to March 11, so I guess we can book our flight out but will have to wait on the return flight, if I remember right, I had to do that last time as well ;)

Brenda, Thanks for the condolences. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all of you too over the loss of Ron's Dad. Cancer is BAD STUFF!

Just booked 3 nights prior to the cruise at Disney's Beach Club Villas. Haven't booked our flight down yet. It's $96 OW from St. Louis and $119 OW from Kansas City to Orlando. It would be better to fly from St. Louis this time if they keep the same flight times on Saturday, March 12 as they now have for Saturday, March 5. From Orlando to St. Louis, return flight would depart at 12:30 p.m. or from Orlando to Kansas City, it would depart at 11:05 a.m. I'd like to have a little extra time to spare just in case. What time do most of you usually book your return flights?

My training for the half marathon at Disney on October 2nd has been tough this summer with all the running we did for Kristin's wedding while she was home; my car wreck; Russell's sister's passing, and now a sore throat and fever. Oh well, I'm looking forward to running a race at Disney. Our route takes us through both the Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios and finishes at Epcot.

Heading to bed...Good night All!

Donna...
I forgot about your car wreck!!!! I did see that on facebook,
It looked like it was a blessing that you were able to walk away from it!

Looks like your fight prices are pretty darn good!!! Right now with Southwest we can fly OW for $159 which is pretty good, I would have to check for sure but I think that is maybe a bit less than last cruise. As far as return times, we usually fly out sometime after lunch. We usually have time to either stop at the mall or the MCO terminal for lunch and souvenir shopping for the girls friends and my nephews.

Do you and Russ rent a car to drive to the airport? We rent from budget and have always had good luck doing that..(knock on wood LOL!!!)

Okay I am off to bed as well...the girls had their first day of school today, have to say I did enjoy the quietness of the day..:goodvibes but yet was excited to have them get back home to hear about their day :)

Hi Brenda!

Yes, I'm very thankful to be ALIVE! My guardian :littleangel: was looking out for me!

We usually rent from Budget to go to and from the port. Last cruise, we actually used DCL transportation from the ship to the WDW resort. I haven't decided what to do this time since we'll be staying at WDW before the cruise. :confused3 It would be easier to just use DCL transportation since we'll be staying at the Beach Club but then we wouldn't arrive until about 1 p.m., if I remember correctly. Afterwards, I'm pretty sure we'll use DCL to go back to the airport.

Awww...first days of school....ya love em and ya hate em. Is Emily a junior now? Has Kaylee started high school? Dang, they grow up toooooooo fast!

Sounds like you're a facebook lurker :3dglasses ....ready to sign up yet?????? ;)

Did I read above that someone started a Facebook site for the cruise?

Hello everyone! I am PhotoLisa's sister. It will be myself, DH, and DD 10. We have a pretty big group of us from my hometown coming on this cruise.

My DD, DH, and I went on our 1st Disney cruise this past Mardi Gras and absolutely loved it. I can't wait until we cruise again!!

Welcome!!!!! Our board has been kinda quite over the summer months... but I suspect that it will be picking up here again soon.. once the kids are all back in school ;)

Johnna (Story) has graciously agreed to do our spread sheet, so she will help you .... as well as ALL our other new cruising friends with that

So again, Welcome Marbet and family :)

OMGoodness.... I am so out of the loop here... Since I am a "control freak" :lmao: I may need to go and find myself a couch and a person to listen to me.....:rotfl2: I have to say, I have gotton lazy with the DIS over the summer. Not that I do not think of all of you, just so busy earning those dead guys on paper to pay off Mickey... I have talked to a few of you over the phone and over another site, so I was hoping that you filled me in... Looks as if I have to go and fill myself in on the past 4 pages... Ok, off to read...popcorn::

So I've been missing, work is trying to kill me!!

I will get caught up but had to post this!!

Ok, so I just called to take advantage of this offer. Saved some money THANKS MicDay, but not a ton... They made me change the booking and that means higher rates and I lost my SBC & Discount. So I only saved about $1,000. I guess that is still better than nothing, but I wish they had left DH & I's fair where it was and just give me the credit for the kids sailing... I guess I have to give some....:rolleyes1

O.M.G. You are complaining about $1,000?!?!? That's crazy... I'm hoping we save at least that much. Do you know how many Bushwackers that is?!?!?!

On the horn with SueEllen now...:woohoo:

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: I just saved $1200.00!!!!!!!!
So excited... Micday, first round of bushwackers are on us:worship::worship:

If it wasn't for your post, I would have not known..Thank you so Much!!!

Hoping that others too, will be able to take advantage of this awesome offer!!

we saved over $900, my SIL and husband saved $900, and their friends saved $600... That's a lot of money for 3 cabins...

I know Lady Story..... Just last time, when we booked the West Coast KSF, we save $2800 so I was thinking it was going to be close to that again. Then they explained I had to basically cancel my reservation and rebook with the current rate (which is higher) then give up the SBC. I guess I just was not thinking that all of that would not be effected. I was just hoping they took the reservation and just took off the $2200 the kids were costing me... I will not be greedy though...

BJ were you able to keep your SBC at all? Let me know Johnna if you were able to. The reason I am saying this is because I had a TERRIBLE TERRIBLE Customer Service Moment with the rep when I called. So bad, I had to talk to her supervisor. She basically cut my head off as she tried to reprice my cruise and tell me the cruise was going to be $8,800 :scared1::scared1: I told her that was not possible and she told me, "that is what it is and I needed to take it or leave it." I have no idea where she pulled those numbers from.... She had to be having a bad day, because she sure did chew my head off and did not listen to anything I had to say... Sure was not the Disney Way! NOT a language problem either. Just a BUTT problem. Oh well.....

MicDay..... Yes, I owe you something on board for sure... Thanks for that phone call girlfriend. Since I have not been so active this summer, I would have totally missed that offer.... Thanks girlfriend...

I did start a little shopping the other day. SHHHH!!! Do not tell you know who.... He may not be very happy....:rolleyes1

BJ... So sorry to hear about Ron's Dad. You guys sure have been hit by the parent sad hearts these past years... Big hugs to the ejkj family....

D~ Some type of way I missed your car wreck. I guess I need to change some of my FB settings. I have not gotton you on my frequent feed since the Wedding Bookings.... I have to go and catch up there. Small world that my co-workers daughter's Grandparents live near you.... That truly is a small world. Thanks for that message...

Welcome to all of the Newbies I have not yet talked with or welcomed. I look fwd to getting to know you over the next few months... Welcome to the Bushwacker Family....:cheer2:

BJ were you able to keep your SBC at all? L

SBC....Ship Board Credit??????? If that is what SBC is then no, I was not able to keep my rebooking credit or my 10% on board rebooking discount.

But the kids sail free offer was far more than those 2 together....I think that the difference of you getting $1000 and us $1200 is probably because Emily will be 17 when we sail, that's what I am thinking anyway??

None the less I was VERY Excited that the offer applied to our sail date :cool1::cool1:

Thanks again MicDay:hug:

We saved $1100 - way more worth it than the 10% discount and SBC - it was awesome!
Thanks so much MicDay for posting it, and Brenda for seeing it and calling me - I may have missed it had you not called me.

Talk to you all soon... off to play nursemaid to a sick son - it was a sick daughter on Sunday night/Monday so now it's the boy's turn. :sad2:

Johnna
