March 4, 2007 Wonder - Anyone Else?

Wondeful, wonderful wonder. We had a very good time on the cruise.Sad we couldn't meet.I got late (luggage hadn't arrived till late) and reached the lounge around 2:50 p.m.Didn't see anybody with alien green name tags but as I was leaving I guess (not sure as I was far at the other end) I saw a lady in white sleeveless shirt with green name tag.Was it anyone of you or was it my imagination?????

The best part of our vacation was Castaway Cay.Had a very good time there.Nassau was ok. We took glass bottom tour and will never recommend it to anybody. The carriage ride was good though.Short but the kids had been longing to ride it.

We had late seating too and were fine with it.My 3 year old slept at dinner the first night but was ok the rest of the nights. We used to come back early from excursions and give a 45 min-1 hr. nap to the kids before the shows. Our servers(Ivana and Carrie) were very very nice.I'll say I was impressed with all the crew. They'll smile and talk to you all the time. Some of them even remembered our kids names and my daughters were happy when they called out their names to speak to them.I think its the crew that makes disney special.

I agree that the food was ok.There is room for improvement there.

My kids didn't like the club.Oceaner club was too kidish for my older one who turns 8 in May and the younger one wanted to be with her sister or us all the time.I felt the counselors were not very friendly or maybe they had too many kids to handle.Their lunch time and dinner time was way too early for our kids and whenever we wanted to leave the kids it was either transition time, lunch time or time for movie(in the night after our dinner). The club itself is very dark. They should make it a little more bright and cheery. So to cut it short we ended up spending all our time togather as a family. No regrets though. My kids don't get to spend much time with their dad at home.

We were there at the "vegetable car race" and "drawing Mickey Mouse" activity. Was any of you there???

The most special thing about our cruise was that we were chosen as the "magical family "of the cruise.Everyday we had a surprise awaiting for us in our room in the evennig. We received disney pins, cheese platter, goodies in our room(which we never ate, privilage to order room service from any of the three restaurants(which we never did),free castaway package, arcade cards for each of the girls and coloring pages and toys for each of them.More special than the things was the excitement in the girls to read the notes left for them by our hostess.

All in all it was the best vacation we had in recent years and would love to go on a disney cruise again.

That's great Eager. You guys were announced in the terminal and then were the first on the boat, right? We watched you the whole time. Congrats!!!!

Frazzledad, I think you are mixing us up with somebody else.We had boarding pass #11.When we arrived at the port there were lots of people already boarding the ship.

Wow, there must have been more than one family, then. Right before they announced boarding for people holding Boarding pass #2, they announced the Family of the Cruise and let them board first.

Wow! What a vacation! I feel like I'm still recovering. I was glad that we were able to meet most of you. We felt so hurried that first day. We probably should have scheduled something mid-cruise too. I ran in to Linda a few times and certainly enjoyed chatting. I didn't see anyone else the remainder of the trip.

I learned several things on this trip. 1. 7 day next time! 2. Excersions are sometimes overrated and overpriced. 3. Go in the summer when the water is warmer..... (((burrr)))! Otherwise, I can't think of a single negative thing to say about our trip. We loved every minute of it. We plan to go back in a few years. I regret not re-booking while we were on the ship. Oh well.....

I win the idiot cruiser award of the year though. My Husband and I accidentally put the wrong bag out the night before we left. It included his clothes. I had to go to breakfast the last morning without him, get his breakfast to go and then get off the ship to get his shorts out of the suitcase. I felt so stupid! He found it humerous but I was so angry at myself for not double checking on everything before going to bed. Ahh memories. :goodvibes

Thought I'd share our story so that "doodlesmommy" doesn't think she's the only one who messed up with the packing.

We went to the later showing of Disney Dreams, then to the atrium for the "Till We Meet Again" thing. I had left a pillow case at guest services and they had Mickey and friends sign, but no princesses. I thought maybe we could catch Ariel and Belle (which we did), so we didn't get back to our room until about 10:40 pm that night. My daughter was tired and crawled right into bed, while my mom, husband and I hurried to throw our stuff in the luggage. We had heard the warnings from the cruise director about how people forget to set aside clothes, so we each very carefully each set aside an outfit for the morning. Next morning, it turns out that NONE OF US had remembered to leave out clothes for my daughter! :scared1: I felt like a very bad mom. I had realized the mistake before my daughter did, so we made a little joke of it and didn't say anything to her. The rest of us got ready and eventually she asked where her clothes were. She was a little mad at first, but she's 7, so this wasn't the end of the world. She went to breakfast and got off the boat wearing a very cute set of Tinkerbell pj's. I doubt anybody outside of our family really noticed and now she has a funny story to tell.

Eagercruiser-we were at the micky drawing thing. We were pretty disappointed by that experience. Seems to me like there must have been some kind of scheduling problem or miscommunication among the activities people. We were the first ones there and the guy in the restaurant had no idea that an activity was being held there. He frantically called someone and then sent us out into the hall to wait. Then the two guys showed up to set up, we asked where my daughter should sit so that she could see well. We sat right next to the easle. Then the actual "teacher" showed up and moved the easle to the other side of the room. Not only could my daughter not see, neither could any of us adults. We couldn't even really hear very well. We had heard about this activity from previous cruisers months ago and it was something that my budding young artist daughter had really been looking forward to. The one redeeming thing was that we talked to the girl who led the activity afterwords and she gave my daughter a quick one-on-one lesson and then let her take home the sample picture from the easle. I know that these things happen and we can't expect front row seats to everything, but this was one of those less-than-magical times for our family.

Hi everyone. I still haven't recovered from the trip and my daughter is stating she wishes she could reverse time and be back on the cruise.

We hit the ground running. Got in Thurs at midnight and right up Friday, working on the business, trying to get our buildings done and our partnership split before the end of the month.

Then karate 3 times a week, swimming 4 times a week and finishing off girl scout cookie sales, which involved delivering 250 boxes of cookies and doing 4cookie booth sales.

As much as I am sad my brother is splitting with his wife, I have to say, I am selfish enough to be happy he is moving in with us for several weeks and my father is flying out to help us build our new office addition and my mother will be out to take care of (in other words spoil) my DD. This will actually give me time to get my head back on and clean the house and do bills.

This was the best vacation we had gone on in a while. The lab didn't impress us either, but our timing was always off and we would go up during transition times or free times.

Now with the packing and night before, I was short one t-shirt for my DD, so we had her do the lab graduation thing and get a free t-shirt for the day of departure. I didn't get back until 11:05, but I had already packed and my DH got the luggage out, so no incidences with us.

I hope everyone is doing well. We didn't rebook and I don't think we will do a cruise again (if so, we would do Hawaii and Disney doesn't go there), we like just "hanging out" and doing our own things, so cruising isn't our thing. But, we did like it and the staff is very friendly (except our experience with the waiter and head waiter, but if everything was perfect on a 9 day trip, I would get worried - so this was a small dissapointment).
