March 31-April 7, 2007 Eastern...3rd try :-)

As part of my due diligence for tonight I'm looking at spa treatments. Whats up with the Villa treatments....man they are expensive. Anyone done these and are they worth the price tag? I don't mind the price if it is really something special.

Well they are new since our last cruise but I have researched them and it would seem that those who have reported their experience gave it an A+. We are scheduled for the couples choice and if my huuby isn't interested, my sister will be! If you use the search function, and type in spa villas, you can read for yourself. Good luck!

OMG, 3 am and the system is down!! UGH!!!

I slept...till about 6 then got up again and it was working.....

dpuck-

My sister kept trying and got in about 2:20 or so. She was able to get Palo dinner ressies to coordinate with us but not brunch. She also got on the same excursions so we are set there.

Were you able to get what you wanted? It was sure annoying that the system was down - Disney should be aware of that kind of problem! Hopefully it didn't impact you guys.

I was able to get two Palo ressies, not my first choice for nights though. We have two rooms so we got Sun 6:30 and Tue 8pm.

We got a fairly late Parasailing on Castaway Cay (2:30) and are doing the Truck also.

Wife is doing the spa so we got that also.

Anyone else doing the Trunk excursion? says it starts at 7:15 but the ship says its ashore at 8am????

I think all ashore is 7:30. The times given are usually "meet times" which means you have to be at the meeting place (Sessions or Buena Vista Theater or wherever your excursion group is meeting) by 7:15. They collect all the release forms, check your tickets, give you debarkation instructions, etc. and then take you to your excursion boat.

We are doing the Doubloon Sail and Snorkle which meets at 8:15. Good score on two Palo ressies!

Thanks, I'm going to be giving up one of them though. Most likely the one on formal night. We can do the one on pirate night and still make it to the pirate party. If anyone wants the Palo I have on Sun let me know and we'll work it out.

Our family of 5 from Eden Prairie MN will be on this cruise.

Just looked into the Palo reservations and just about everything was sold out - Did not know we had to play a 2:00AM game. I guess we'll have to get to the ship early to sign up.

We went on this cruise last year. Went to Orient Beach on our own and we had such a good time (kids playing in the waves while we sipped cocktails) that we will do that again.

We also did a St. John Daysail on our own. We went with New Horizons - and although that was a great experience we are looking to possibly take the excursion to St. John, or charter our own boat.

Welcome to the party. I might be giving up one of my palo ressies if you get desperate I'd be happy to let you have it. Its only for 2 however and its on formal night.

Welcome aboard, ps17!

Fellow Minnesotan here (Eagan)! This is our second cruise (did the Eastern in 2004) and we'll be travelling with my sister's and brother's families - 12 in all. Kids ages are: Boys, 17 and 13; girls, 15, 15, 15 and 12.

What are the ages/gender of your kids? Early seating or late? WHen are you flying down?

I think you should be able to book Palo once onboard.

We are looking for a beach in St. Maarten with fun waves - our kids like to boogie board. I'm concerned about the nudity as our group is made up of mostly teens who I'm sure would be embarrassed. Any ideas? Someone has mentioned Dawn Beach as a possibility. Do you know anything about it?

We went on the Trunk Bay excursion last time and never got to see St. John. We wer told the water was too rough so we were taken to St, James island which had very disappointing snorkeling. Found out later that several people on our ship did go to Trunk Bay and it was great! We felt a little ripped off. We are trying the Doubloon Sail and Snorkle this time.

Good to see another family on our thread!

Minniesota,
Our kids are boys, 13, 8, 3. We're part of the EP travel sports machine and Eagan is a rival. We are flying down Thursday (10:20 NWA flight) and staying at the Beach Club for a couple of days. Driving down Saturday AM. You have probably figured out by now that airfare was difficult to get this year at least for us. It was always expensive and filled up pretty fast.

We have the late seating and are VERY happy with it. Around 5:00PM, we have either just boarded the ship - we prefer to be at sailaway party or up top somewhere taking in the scenery with cocktails as the ship sails into the sunset rather than rushing off to shower. Our kids typically graze on food throughout the day so the 8:00-8:30 seating is never a big deal.

Last year we went to Orient Beach on our own after carefully researching opinions of other families that have gone there (do a search, here and at cruise critic). There is a little topless nudity (10%?) - the boys did not even notice at first - got around to doing some double takes, but quickly went on with their beach activities: boogie boarding, playing in the waves and sand, swimming. They pretty much did that all day - I rented a wave runner for a hour and that was definately a blast, but I did not even need to do that. We rented a seat/umbrella from Bikinis - had seafood appetizers, lunch, cocktails - plenty of room. There is NO comparison between Orient Beach and the beach that is at the cruise ship Pier. The water nice, the sand is white, but there is good wave action. If you want, there is an outfit there that will boat you over to Pinel for snorkelling - we considered that but we ended up being content with what we had.

Last I heard, there was construction going on at Dawn beach.

My son is a swimmer and daughter is in dance so we probably haven't crossed paths in the wild world of youth athletics. My son will be glad to hear there is another 13-year-old boy onboard. With three 15-year-old girls in the group, he often feels outnumbered! He only went to the clubs once in 2004 and didn't care for it. Mostly hung out with us and another boy he met on our cruise thread. Not sure how he feels about the teen club. Ocean Quest is new since our last cruise and that sounded pretty cool to him.

Yeah, the airfare was a challenge. We lucked into an Air Tran sale in mid-Nov. and got fares for $218. Have never flown them but I've read good things on these boards so we'll see! We arrive Friday and are heading right to the port - staying at the Residence Inn.

We have late seating this time and I think it will work out great. For all the reasons you laid out. Looking forward to a more relaxing cruise this time!

I'll have to continue researching the beaches. Somone also mentioned Divi Little Bay. ANyone know anything about it?

scrapindisney and ready4fun-

how are your plans going?

Well we finally got our airplane tickets. 5 tickets from San Diego 270 each. I was getting a little nervous, it seemed liked they were never going to go down. I was just about ready to pay 402 and decided to check one more time and for some unknown reason they went down, I mean in two minutes they went down then back up, I got lucky. Now I need to get the Hotel and rental car. I was able to get a Palo dinner at 9pm on day 4. I'm just glad we got one. I got to down system thing like everybody else and just tried again at about 10 and was lucky to get one.

The computer only lets me go to page 10 then it "rediects" me.

I hope every body plans are going well and nobody is stessing out. Remember this is supposed to be FUN.

From the Twin Cities, Northwest was charging over $500 per ticket. Most flights were sold out. We cashed in a premium amount of frequent flyer miles (200,000) for 4 tickets, and then paid close to $600 cash for the fifth. We did not consider other airlines or connecting flights.

sounds like you do lots of traveling. All that money for airfare and they don't even feed us. I just saw that day 4 is pirate night, thats the night we got our Palo dinner, well I guess I will try to get another Palo time or miss the Pirate fun.

Hey all, reporting live from Florida :-) We are in Hutchinson Island and leave for Disney in 3 days. I'll be hit/miss checking boards during that time so hopefully nothing exciting happens without me!

We'll have to compare Palo times, etc and see if any of us are going to be there at the same time....

Well we have hotel (Residence Inn) 2 vans (Budget) flight (Delta - uugghh 400/person) Palos Brunch (Monday) excursion on Castaway CA (parasailing and eco/watercraft tour) all booked. Not sure what other excursions we'll do, maybe just wing it. We have never been to any of these islands so we are very excited. We are also looking into a 7day when it comes to CA again (we did it in 2005) :yay:
