March 31-April 7, 2007 Eastern...3rd try :-)

Awesome!! That will really make it feel "Real".

Can someone give me a rundown of what needs to be printed and signed to do online checkin? Just want to make sure I have what I need, it was a little confusing when I was checking in online. Do I need the "credit" sheets? What all documents do I need to have when I get to port?

Thanks all...see ya soon..

What you will need to have or they will make you go to a little table and fill it out is the bahamian customs form. When you get your docs it is folded in the little envelope with your booklet.

I always fill everything out online then print and bring with. All you really need is the one form they tell you to print and sign. I cannot think of what the form is called. My brain has gone to sleep.

I would also make sure you have printed out your Palo reservations and any others you have. Bring them with you. One of our cruises we went to verify something (Palo or Flounders) and they did not have the info in their system. I was able to pull out my print out and they fixed it right away.

Hope I answered your questions.

Welcome Jen...better late than never ;-)
I'm bringing an 8 and 6 yo, so I'm sure the boys will
meet up in the clubs at some point.

Glad you joined us!!

15 days.....

We just got our passports the other day (I know we don't need them, but thought it would be a good idea). For some reason, getting the passports and filling out the online documents has started to drive home the point that we will be departing in a little less than two weeks for FL... We are driving down, so we are leaving on the afternoon of 3/29. Anyway, I have been frantically searching the stores for clothing as, of course, my DD (6, turing 7 on 4/15) has outgrown absolutely everything from last year, and I, of course, have nothing suitable to wear (at least that is what I tell my fiancee). Also, I am having an awful time finding a dress for formal night...I can't tell you how many dresses I have tried on at this point, but it has been exhausting. My daughter's dress took about 5 seconds to find (have to love that Easter dresses are abundant). This is our first cruise, and my daughter has told me numerous times that she is going to make some new friends and spend a lot of time in the club, but she expressed concern as to my wellbeing whilst she was doing this...I pouted and quitely assured her that Ian and I would just have to search hard and find something else to occupy our time, but she shouldn't worry about us (all the time crossing my fingers hoping it turns out that way and cheering loudly in my head). Any plans for the meet yet? I would love for my daughter to meet some other children she can play with...

Mjespro and dixielandings I will do my best to update the list. I have it saved on my laptop so I cannot do it now. We are leaving later today to spend the night at the Swan and Dolphin then a game at the Wide World of Sports. And Monday we are taking people to the Magic Kingdom. So I need to do it today or it will be Tuesday.

Mjespro-everytime we cruise I do all of that in 4 weeks time so you can do it I am sure....you just might be short on sleep. But don't think you need to do everything.

Do you know what kind of pillowcase you want? If you want to iron things on a plain one I can give you a link to a place to get the character names with their pictures. They are all ready to be printed and ironed on.

Also I posted links in another thread to a 50 page word document and a 16 page printed thread of secrets and tips. If you did not see it and want to look at them to answer your questions let me know and I will repost the links.

As to the cruise meet I suggested Sailaway deck party on deck 10 portside. I think one or two others were in agreement. Chime in with other suggestions. MAybe next week I can make a list of everyone who plans on making it to the meet and if they plan on wearing something (like a green mickey) or whatever else.

We are flying out on a red eye on the 30th (LAX). We need to teach on Friday. :sad1: I hope the kids will be able to sleep and won't be too tired their 1st day on the ship.

Michelle

I have read and appreciated the link to the tips, etc. I would love the link to the sight for Disney characters w/names. Thanks

Go to page 64 post 965 and you will see some pictures. All of the info is in this that thread. I know I saw it there. But if you like it I would just PM the orginal poster and she will get back to you right away with what you need.

If you want a specific name to put on it and she cannot do it I can as long as you do not want anything fancy.

If you look to the next page in that thread you will see my Disney Magic Design.

Thought I would post for those who are staying a few says prior or psot cruise in Florida.

If you or anyone in yoru group has allergies to pollen (seasonal allergies) bring your medecine.

The pollen count is very high as a result of our mild winter and lack of rain. If you leave your car outside for a day it will get covered in yellow.

So thought I would give you the heads up to bring the allergy medication.

I cannot wiat to get to the middle of the ocean where there is no pollen.

Our docs arrived today! Whoohoo...
I gotta say though, I was expecting more. Am I missing something or is it just luggage tags and a bahamas form that I need to fill out???

Congrats in getting your docs!!!

No you are not missing anything. If you are doing online checkin just fill out the bahamas form and tag your luggage. If you are not doing online check-in then you need to fill out all those cards in the booklet you got.

I am not sure if there are any cards to fill out if you have Disney Air. Our card have always been blank since we do not have air.

Tommorrow is the last day of double digits in the countdown to the ship.

I just had to share this with everyone. I have spent the last two weeks embroidering, cutting, and piecing. This is what we are turning in to be signed instead of a pillowcase. It is 1/2 of what will become a memory quilt. We plan on making a bottom half for our next cruise.

Here is the picture.

DCLquilt.jpg

crsecrazy - that quilt is adorable. I have got to get time to myself to do crafts!!

I am back after an absence - my DS 11 received the Arrow of Light on Friday night - (graduated from Cub Scout to Boy Scout.) Then we left for a weekend hockey tourney up north - gone all weekend. Then this week its been his peewee checking clinic every day, and tons of volunteering for me - brownies for DD, dance field trip...Now there is NOTHING on my calendar but getting ready!!

We got our cruise docs and they are in my lap as we speak. Waiting for me to open them and check.

One of the posters a few back wrote she is frantically searching for a dress. I was in the same boat last year. My DH had major scary open heart surgery, and I gained 25 lbs in the stress. By the way, did you know calories also count then you are under stress?? Bummer!!

ANyway, I am very slowly getting it off. Now I am normally not petite anyway - 5'9, normally btwn size 10 -12, with big shoulders and bust. The sight of me in the dresses available was HORRIBLE - tiny bows and speghetti straps. I looked like Brunhilda...:rotfl:

So anyway, I got these Palazzo pants somewhere. THey are dress pants with floating crepe panels attached. They are great for a cruise, and you can match them with ANY pretty top. RIght now, they even have some at Dress Barn off all places - with cute tops. You don't even have to wear panty hose. So, if you can't find a dress - try these goofy pants!!Sorry to be too long...Just excited to be back aboard...

Michelle-Love the quilt!!! My dd15 would have adored that when she was little. She'd probably adore it now! Oh if her mother was only talented in that area...

mndisfam- I'm in the same boat.:rotfl2: Need to drop some weight and really had planned to before the cruise but did you know that once you are over 50, it takes like 4 times longer to drop a pound but 4 times faster to add one???? With my dad's illness the past year, it just didn't happen. Anyway, I also have a pair of the ballgown paloozas of which you speak. Mine came with a glitzy top (bought it at Dayton's). That's a good idea to match the pants with other tops. I'm bring a regulat pair of dressy black slacks to match with tops for semi and Palo.

I've started stacking the clothes on the bedroom floor and looks like I need to divide and conquer. I'll start with everyone else first!

We want to bring some wine on board and I bought one of those soft-sided rolling coolers. However, it takes up so much room in the suitcase (the cooler) and I don't really want to carry it on with shoes, clothes, etc. in it. Any ideas on how to get 3-4 bottles onboard?

Also, I found these adorable pirate gift bags. We have 6 teens going and I'd like to have them waiting in the stateroom. Has anyone ever sent Shirley from the Perfect Gift "containers" to use? I was thinking I'd ship them to her and have her fill them with snacks, sodas, glow necklaces (that I'd provide), etc. What do you think? I'm also planning to order the "Beers Around the World" basket for DH from Shirley. Did that last time and he loved it.

My mom is getting so excited - so glad we were able to get her on this cruise. She misses my dad and is really lonely so a diversion will be good for her. We were able to change her flight and now she is on our return flight! Yeah! Now if we can just move her up to Deck 7...

My frantic search actually ended on Sunday, but thanks for the advice. I am not overly excited about my dress, but it looks pretty good (if I do say so myself)...The funny think was I tried on a dress that was way out of my price range that looked fantastic, and my fiancee told me to buy it (he was just sooo tired of being dragged along dress shopping at that point) but I just couldn't justify spending that kind of money on a dress I will be unlikely to ever wear again. Anyway, we also got our cruise docs the other day (Monday to be exact), but I thought there would be more...I did the online check-in already, so most of the pack is unneccessary at this point.

Question: What is the "Beers around the World" stateroom gift? Is it from the Perfect Gift (I didn't see it on the website)? What's in it and, if you don't mind, what is the cost? It sounds like something my finacee would enjoy...

I am still debating if I want to get Halley (6) any type of stateroom gift...we are going to be celebrating her birthday on the cruise, and she will likely be getting a number of trinkits from the ports and onboard already...

AS to wine - this weekend at the hockey tourney, parents brought boxes of wine. It has come a long way since college. We brought Black Box Merlot - was pretty good, it holds 4 bottles and it was very small. It would EASILY fir in any suitcase - about 12" by 7" maybe??
