March 3,2014 Magic Bahamas cruise

Thanks for the welcome Minniemoomoo

That sounds great cher 25 mom ... I will check back to PM you when you are ready.

Hello! My DH (known as Capttigger here on the disboards) and I will be on this cruise! We don't have any children but other adult family members will be joining us. This will be our 9th Disney cruise but our first time on the Magic. We have sailed on all the other 3 Disney ships and can't wait to see the Magic after dry dock! This will be our 3rd time sailing from Port Canaveral in late Feb./early March and the weather has been BEAUTIFUL each year for our cruise to Nassau. The temperatures were nice and warm, but the water at CC was a little cool. That didn't stop me from getting in the water though!

We will be driving to the port coming from New Orleans, so yes, we are getting out of town for Mardi Gras. We have always wanted to see one of the Disney ships leave Port Canaveral so we are going to watch the Dream leave on Sunday and then stay on Cocoa Beach the night before we board the Magic.
We are interested in joining the FE group. We have done this on each cruise and have a blast with it each time!

I look forward to chatting with everyone here for the next few months.

Welcome Sherrie! Sounds like great fun watching the ship leave port, then knowing you will be on the next ship out. Glad you're joining our FE group too. :yay:

Hi Sherrie !

Hope your good luck for weather follows us to this cruise. We will be using our Mardi Gras vacation to cruise also we are on the Coast in MS.

Welcome! We are escaping Mobile Mardi Gras. We did the 4 night on the dream Mardi Gras last year and had great weather. The water was a little cool, but we enjoyed it.

Hi All! We just signed up today for B2B (the Feb 28th and this one as well). We (my DH, two DD's 9 and 7, and my DS 5) wanted to have a week but also wanted to try the refurbished Magic having sailed on the larger ships. Besides... you can't beat having an extra day on Castaway Cay :cool1: We've never done that before so if anyone has we'd love to hear about your experience.
Now with school starting and the cold weather about to descend upon us it will be nice to have this trip to look forward to. We enjoyed the FE last time so please add us the list :)

Welcome! My DD will be 10 when we cruise, so it's great to see another girl her age added to our group! We aren't even beginning to think about cooler weather here. It is in the 90s and will be for another month. Part of me is envious, but only until there is snow to shovel, then I would want to be back here.

Hi from Canada everyone ... just signed up on the DIS forum and it is our first time for us on a Disney Cruise and we are sooooo excited! We too have booked this 4 night Bahamas cruise for the re-imagined Disney Magic voyage embarking on the 3 March 2014. Our family of 4 consists of DH and DW, with at time of the 2014 voyager, a DD(8yrs)and DD(14 yrs). As an added feature, we have also booked passage on the Disney Dream (just before the Disney Magic) for an initial 3 night voyage (embarking on 27 Feb 2014) ... this will give our family a 2 cruiseship experience with a 7 day cruise timeline.

Also new to the FE thing ... what does it mean to sign up?

Also EMZED ... nice to hear someone else from New Brunswick Canada will be on the cruise! Looking forward to the family fun!

Jeff

Welcome! Fish extender is a way for cruisers to exchange small treats while on board. You will have a "fish" outside your door. It is a clip for notes, ect. We hang a banner with pockets from it, and fellow cruisers leave surprises in the pockets. If you google fish extender you can see examples. It is lots of fun and the gifts can be something simple.

Hi all! Checking in! My family will be on this sailing! It's me (dad), my wife (both late 30's), Daughter 1 (9), Daughter 2 (6 at sailing). We're celebrating both girls birthdays as well as celebrating their adoption anniversary.

This will be our first cruise! We were considering going to DisneyWorld, when I visited the DisneyCruise website and saw the fantastic deal on this week...

I love that our parish's spring break is over Mardi Gras!

So, I know about the FE's and I'd like to sign up! Can someone put us on the list? Room 1060. Also, about how many FE gifts should we expect to give out? I mean if 180 rooms sign up, are we supposed to bring that many? Newbie here! LOL!

You can do whatever you want to do. One a night, or just one night. It's whatever the person wants. You will find that you get gifts at different times.
The most thing I see a request for is not to do gifts on the final night as folks are busy packing up and they may need all the room they have for all the "stuff" and the gifts that they have. It's wonderful fun and your children will have a great time participating. Welcome onboard!:dance3:

Welcome!

I can go ahead and put together the FE list this weekend if everyone who wants to participate could please PM me their cabin number and the first names and ages of all participants since some like to make personalized gifts.
Thanks!

Sorry, my post count isn't high enough to PM...I'll have to make a few more posts and then I can send our information to you...

Hi all!

FE update- so far I only have one response ofr the FE list o I am holding off for a while until I get everyone's info.

Also, I just wanted to put this out there if anyone is interested. LAst cruise, we linked out reservations with 2 other dis families for dining so that we would be seated at the same table in all the MDR's. It was a lot fo fun to have tablemates that we already "knew" from chatting on line and preferable to taking our chances on who we would be seated with. We are a family of 3 me, DH, and DD10. My kid is very mature for her age and used to sitting with adults at dinner and participating in conversations, ect. Las cruie she was 8, and we sat with a childless couple and a family of 3 including a teenager and had a blast together. Is anyone interested in sharing a table? I would much prefer some conversation to dining alone, but don't want to risk a zoo at the table!

Ok, so far for FE I have:

Cheer25mom
Minniemoomoo
MallieGirl

I will set up a google doc with names and cabin numbers closer to cruise time. How does a 6 weeks pre cruise cutoff date for sign up sound?
