March 3, 2007

Hello from Epcot, sort of... We just got back from our day at Epcot celebrating Morgan's 13th birthday. No official "magical moments" but she got her birthday button and plenty of people wished her a happy birthday. And dinner at Le Cellier Steakhouse was wonderful!
Anyway, the cruise was WONDERFUL and we did rebook onboard - for Sept '08 - currently for the 5 night double dip but we are seriously considering the Sept '08 7 night Western alternative (double dip at Castway Cay, Cozumel, and Costa Maya). Let me know if anyone else is going to be on either one of those cruises. It was so great meeting everyone! And not to worry Mark and Ron, the video from 70's night YMCA should be up in the next week or so... :rotfl: Once we get home and deal with the water line break we had last Tuesday when we were cruising and get the baby to the dr (now she gets the tummy bug!), I'll get the video edited and uploaded.
Also, if anyone has a copy of the group picture Sasha took on the first Palo brunch, I'd love a copy emailed.
Andie - sorry I didn't really get to say goodbye - I thought we'd meet up again but I never was able to catch you again.

Thanks for the memories!!!
Stacy and Ken

Hi all,
I will post this on the TR thread too. We made it okay to Seattle, where it is raining of course. Talked to Shirley and she had just gotten home also. She says hi to all.Meeting everyone was great. I don't think we will make it next year, but Caro & I will do a DCL (w/o the girls) in May 2009 for our 25th.

I miss you all! We are home back to rainy Seattle. Kathryn threw up in the jet way at LAX when we got off the plane. I'm thinking it was just from the bit of turbulance we had before landing. She seemed fine later.
It was wonderful meeting all of you! I just hope we can continue to stay in touch!

We made it home safe, our plane was delayed Sat. night and we didn't walk through our door until 2:30am!
DS3 started with a nasty cold on the way home, we had a special Magic moment the night before we left the ship...They arranged a surprise character meet ( 25 characters) with my little one in Studio Sea! They brought him the invitation with the little metal mickey heads and told us not to forget our cameras...I didn't know it was a private meet and yes I was late, yelling at DS13 for not having the digital camera etc.. Well DH was early with the video camera.DS3 was sleeping in his arms when Peter Pan and Wendy woke him up to see Mickie, Minnie, Cinderella etc. When I walked in they were dancing and singing with him. Better I was late I boo hood'd through the whole event. This, I will never forget....
And Palo brunch what a hoot! I'm so glad I went, even when DH couldn't make it...Ron, Mark, Marco those pictures are priceless....I saw hairy guy and childbirth woman three times on the cruise after that, once in the elevator after a St. Thomas excursion and he was talking to my son, I had to face the wall just couldn't keep a straight face,(isn't that terrible!) if they only knew!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stacey I missed saying goodbye too, hope you had a great time at Epcot..
Thanks to all for the many laughs and forever memories....Were planning on 2008 or 2009 it will take that long to build up the cruise fund after the Cat 3...! It was definately worth the splurge, that night with the characters sealed the deal...
I'm still laughing thinking about our times together!! I hope we can keep in touch!!!!!
Love, Andie, Jeff, Devon(no one ever saw him he had a new home in the stack) and Derek:love:

We miss everyone already too!!! It was such a great great trip and I'm still on :cloud9: describing it to everyone. I didn't bring my film in or upload the digital pix yet, but will probably tackle it tonight. I can't wait to see the YMCA pix!!!! I've got to do a trip report (since I don't keep a journal) just to remember everything. Although YMCA I'll NEVER forget.

I'm so sad we missed saying goodbye to everyone - on Friday, I last saw Stacy was on her way to give the baby a beach bath, and Andie eating our extra souffle at Palo :goodvibes; then Kim2 very very :sad1: outside Treasure Ketch that it was all over; we saw Andrew at the door to AP on debarkation morning, but you never came to breakfast and we didn't see you after that, or Caro, or the girls or Shirley - my Katie was upset not to say bye to your girls; and I spent the last hour on Friday night with Kim1 and Gregg, Ron and Brenda, and Jeff at Pub Night. Who knew that would be our official goodbye??:sad1:

Will add to Andrew's trip report tonight or tomorrow maybe.

Kim2 - we did rebook for the same trip as you, but likely will change it. I'll lurk on your thread for now... will Kim and Tim join you too? We can have a friendly rivalry - Red Sox vs. Yankees...as if that would be friendly...

Hi Johnna,

Kim(?3) and I did rebook for March 1-8, 2008 and will be linked with the Shabby Fam. I enjoyed meeting all of you and will try to break out of my previous "lurker" status.

:) Tim

WOW!!!!! What a great week...we had so much fun and enjoyed meeting everyone....

We made it home Saturday night w/o any problems, was able to get in and out of the airports rather quickly.. Ron and I were both shot yesterday, was a very nonproductive day!!!!!! I don't think we ever did get to bed before midnight the whole week, we're getting to old for that:rotfl: :rotfl:

I can't tell you how much we enjoyed everyone we met, and how much fun we had hanging out with so many of you, we too rebooked, right now it is booked for the March 1st 2008 Eastern, but we have plans to move that date, although our girls are really wanting to go back again next year..so I guess we will see what happens...We too will be lurking at your thread Kim just incase ;)

Alanapapa we truley enjoyed dinning w/ you and your family, I have some great pictures that I will hopefully get to you soon!!! Johnna, my girls are seriously having Katie withdrawls...they so fell in love with her:love:

I still have some wristbands left for the kids..so if anyone didn't get one, PM me w/ your address and I will mail you one:thumbsup2

Glad to hear that everyone is making it home safely...Again THANKS for a great week...It was so much fun!!!!!!!!!!

Now back to reality and a mound of :laundy: UGG!!!!!

Talk to you later
Brenda:)

Just had to add that ...Ken, you serioulsy cracked us up at the Palo brunch!!!!!!I honestly had tears rolling down my face:lmao: :lmao: TOO FUNNY!!!!!!! What a great way to start our cruise off....and Mark, I don't want to forget your performance as well....if the Golden Mickeys weren't $25 bucks each...I would have bought you both one, you were both deserving of one!!!!!:lmao: :lmao:

Will someone please stop making my house sway back and forth? I feel like I'm still on the ship! I'm drinking a mocha and keep grabbing for it, beccause I think it's going to fall off the desk!

Hi everybody!
Wow, what a great week! It was so great meeting all of you and seeing familiar faces around the ship. We are really missing the Magic.
We had a long day Sat. Our flight was supposed to leave at 4:30 and was 50 minutes late (and our Phoenix layover was only 40 minutes!). Emily threw up on the plane but thankfully made it to the bathroom which was unoccupied (miracle #1). Our pilot flew fast and made up time so we landed in Phoenix with 20 minutes to get to our next flight. It was in the next terminal so we had to run over a mile. Our girls were exhasted and crying but they were troopers. We must have been a sight but we made our flight with a few minutes to spare (miracle #2). We landed in San Luis Obispo on time and (miracle #3) our luggage made the connection!
Now I'm doing my fifth load of laundry and wishing I was back on the Magic. We are booked on the 5/25/08 Mexican Riviera cruise (no airfare!). It's so comforting knowing we will be back.
I'll keep in touch. :grouphug:

What's up everybody, What an awesome trip. Took Joshua to get his 4 sutures out this afternoon, took him to lunch and back to school, came back home and thought the house was going to be cleaned and the wash done but nooooooo, somebody forgot to pack our servers and room stewards and now I've got to do some laundry and clean the house.
Finally got our last piece of luggage this A.M. at precisley 4:30am the door bell rings and Kim jumped out of bed like a shot and there it was, apparently our luggage was sent to J.F.K. for the weekend, we have so many tags on our luggage you would think we travel the world and it was just one week. Well I have to go dry some clothes and vacuum, We will definately post some pictures soon over 200 to look at. Hope you all are well.

Tim, I will look at the schedule and see what works, but we will be in touch.

Talk at you all later..
Norm

So thrilled we finally got to meet all of you. :goodvibes Even though we did not get to spend a lot of time with y'all, it made the Magic feel like the bar in Cheers "where everybody knows your name". We even got to yell "Norm!" LOL! Seriously, it was so nice to run into the Kims and clan sunning up on deck, or tag along spur-of-the-moment with the EKJKMOM family to see the magician, or savor the last sunset on deck 4 with Mr. Sanderz, just to mention a few.

Yes, it was a long trip home, and lots of laundry to be done:laundy: , and Drew and Em have colds/coughs:headache: , but it was SOOO worth it. :)

We did not rebook - looks like our next big vacation will be the Washington DC educational thing.... d'ya think they have a Pirate Nite pirate: at the Smithsonian?
Maybe another Disney cruise the next year....

Before I sign off I just have to say it is supposed to be 81 degrees here today and in the high 70's the rest of the week... very WEIRD for Sacramento in March. We actually BBQ'd and ate in the backyard last nite. :beach: It's almost like a little extra vacation time.

I will be checking the boards for your trip reports (I kept a journal - will I get it online tho?) and more messages from y'all. It keeps the vacation alive for me and keeps a smile on my face. :) Thanks!

-Ellen :moped:

p.s. Caropooh - I too am still rocking and swaying for no reason. Crazy!

Ellen - we'll be happy to host you and yours at our own Pirate Night when you come to town!! Seriously - if you need a recommendation on what to see, what NOT to see, where to eat, etc., we're happy to oblige. Mark and I both work downtown and are happy to give some "native" advice.

This applies to everyone when/if you come visit the Nation's Capital! :yay: Johnna

For those that booked through Disney, do they still give out the hard plastic luggage tags? If so, does anyone have an extra one. My Mom had one on her suitcase and it broke off yesterday. She has had it since our first trip to WDW in the '80's and is sad it's gone.

Wow Johnna, it would be awesome to get advice from a "native" about DC, especially since I've never been there and Drew has not been in probably 25 years. We were just talking yesterday about how we need a "DC For Dummies" book. Thanks so much!!!! -Ellen :moped:

So is everyone still buried in mounds of laundry???? I'm still chugging away at it, I do however have all the suitcases emptied and back downstairs..so I am making some progress:thumbsup2

I'm sure everyone is dragging through the week, I know I am...We have been in bed by 9:00 the last couple of nights, trying to catch up on our lack of sleep!!!! :laughing

Confession: I have not done a stitch of laundry, :laundy: and our suitcases are still sitting where we dropped them Saturday nite on the living room floor. It has been SO beautiful out, and my kids are off school all month (year round school) so we have been out in the backyard all day each day enjoying the weather. :sunny: The kids have been building cruise ships :boat: out of old shingles with big leafs for sails, and floating them in a big tub of water. Every time I walk by the living room the suitcases call out, "Ellen, oh Ellen, we're waiting...." but I ignore them and go out in the sunshine. :goodvibes -Ellen :moped:

Johnna - Does your offer extend to us too??? :flower3: Even though we will be coming from Frederick. MD, we still don't know what is cool to do in DC. Isn't that sad??? We'll have to all hook up when Ellen comes to town!
