March 3, 2007

We forgive you, Beth! You had a double Mom minute! I think Ellen is making you a nice drink right now!

You, my new friend, can pour for me!

You bet! As we often say around here... "would you like a straw with that? or just go straight for the I.V.?" :lmao:

BTW, anyone else see Target has Pirates of the Caribbean pirate: mini-purse-bag things (kids would love) for a buck, and skull/crossbone flip-flops for the same steal-of-a-price? I'm putting together little pirate: Pirates pirate: kits for my DDs for the LONG plane ride, including Pirates of the Caribbean fruit gummies, etc. Ellen :moped:

OK, my last post of the nite or else I shall fall asleep in the dentist's chair tomorrow (ok, maybe that's not a bad idea?). Anyway, if you have not read the trip report by Lisa Pisa that's at http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1365020 you definitely should. It's hilarious and informative and very recent. If my link does not work it's under Trip Reports and called "02-03-07 Heavenly Eastern Trip Report, family of 5". I love the list of what she's glad she packed (over the door shoe hanger for all those pesky little things that clutter up the room and can never be found when needed) and what she wishes she had packed but didn't. G'nite all! -Ellen :moped:

Weather report for Seattle today is SNOW!!!! Andrew called me about an hour ago on the way to work and said it was snow/raining. About 10 minutes later I looked out the window and it was snowing here. It never stuck and has stopped now. 48 more hours and I'll be in the sun!!!! :beach:

Hey Caropooh,
The March dates are up and we are not tendering in St. Thomas. :cool1:

http://www.vinow.com/general_usvi/cruiseship/cruise_2007/STT-Mar.php

I had fun catching up on this thread this morning. I was at a baby shower last night and I see I missed lemon martinis! The ship's bars better be very well stocked for this cruise.

OK, back to packing...It is getting stressful. I have many, many, piles of clothes, shoes, beach gear, etc., and I'm looking at my suitcases and wondering if it will all fit :scared:
See you in 3 days! party:

I just called and got the list of movies that will be onboard!
Invincible
Shaggy D.A.
Pirates of the Carribean 2
Cars
Presitge
Step Up
Deja Vu
Santa Claus 3
Bridge to Terabithia
The Gaurdian
Primeval
Wild Hogs

I have checked the weather and it looks like it's "scattered showers" in some places. Hopefully that is typical for this time of year and just means it might rain, and then clear up? I know in FL in the summer it rains almost every day for about an hour, and then it's perfect! Hopefully, we'll have good weather! :)

Yes, thanks for the movie list!

We're boarding our flight at exactly this time tomorrow! DS7 is on his way w/ my DF & DM. It's almost here. Unbelievable.

Beth

Ugh - have been too busy wrapping up here at work that I'm only now checking the boards. Will try to reply to everything I just read:

- who ever is pouring: pour one for me!! Not crazy about the lemon martini, but anything else, esp. if it has an umbrella in it...:cheer2:

- packing - yes: I packed too much, but not near as much as last year. how many times can the kids wear the same pair of shorts before they smell...??:confused3 :rotfl:

- weather - I'm hoping I can get away with Capri's and flip flops to the airport tomorrow, especially since we're being driven by the "super shuttle" which can't be that super if they don't serve alcohol. ;)

- movies - can't wait to see Wild Hogs too!!!

Okay - is that it??? I may log in tonight again or from FLA tomorrow, but if not, see you all on the boat!!!

You can tell we are all busy..we are down low on the second page tonight...we all must be either packing, flying or enjoying the pre-cruise time in Florida!!!

Thanks to whomever called about the movies. WILD HOGS looks Fabulous... I think Beth inquired about Bridge to Terabithia....just a note regarding it...the main character dies in it...most kids read the book in 6th grade in our schools in NY...just a little info you may want to think about.

Don't know how many of you read the main forum posts, but I am totally freaking out about the airlines losing our luggage. Last time we traveled to WDW, they lost our luggage coming and going...we are flying same airlines and same route this time too...We are flying in on Saturday morning as we had no other option due to work and we struggled with our airport choice as one is literally a 5 minute drive from home and the others are close to 2 hours. We also had a greater chance of getting the carrier we didn't want with the airport close to home..but we were more afraid of bad weather and not being able to drive the distance to the airports further away.

SOOO...people tell me to pack really well with my carry-ons...Well, I am limited there to as we are on a small commuter flight (60 seats) and a typical carry-on doesn't fit overhead.....I have packed 3 suitcases with some of our clothes in each bag and I am saying a prayer to St. Anthony...for NOT losing things...instead of waiting for him to intercede with the already lost things...:confused3

Sorry, I am rambling...there is a reason..I need your opinion regarding the DCL stickers they tell us to put on our luggage prior to leaving our originating airport.... This is so, I have been told, so DCL can remove your luggage at airport and the next time you see them will be at your stateroom door. My thinking is that I would like to board the bus to the port knowing that my luggage has arrived safely, which would mean NO DCL stickers on luggage in NY, getting my own luggage at MCO, bringing them to the bus myself AND HERE's the end reward..... knowing my luggage has arrived....PHEW!!! Is this okay to do? Besides having the DCL airport CM think I am nuts and you guys thinking I am nuts...Is this the best choice I have?

Okay...I am really not neurotic, psychotic or any other word you could come up with to describe crazy...I am just going to need a stiff drink once I am on board...lost luggage or not! Sorry for the rambling...it is something I definately do when I am nervous..and can you tell...I am a little nervous???!!!

So do I not use the luggage stickers or what?
Thanks for listening...I appreciate it.
Michelle

oh my gosh...really, I apologize for the rant above...I kept going and going and going..watch out Energizer Bunny....I think I need another outlet for my anxieties..

Michelle

I too cannot wait till we are on the plane...whatever didn't get done or pack is simply not going to..this is the part of any trip we take, that I dread the most....the night before we leave..all the worry about overpacking...not packing the right stuff and them of course all thet last minute details that need taken care of....like the dog, having someone check in on the house every now and then, stoppping the mail....the list goes on and on and on!!!!!!! OMG... I too, am so ready for that drink...infact make it a DOUBLE of whatever LOL

Thanks for posting the movie list...my girls are excited about "Step Up & Wild Hogs"

O.K. this may be my last post before we leave so....EVERYONE have a safe trip...and we'll see ya Saturday...Can't Wait......

For all of you going to Grills, we'll see you Friday night.....

And oh my the way...my diet started vacation today:lmao: :lmao: there wasn't anything that was safe.... I ate it all!!!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Brenda:)

Johnna_Story: I shall make sure yours has no lemon but plenty of little umbrellas - it does make things so much more festive! pixiedust:

Tinkified: If I recall correctly, last time we did the WDW and Cruise combo (a year ago) it seems we were able to verify that our luggage was at the bus pickup point when we arrived in Orlando, and then they loaded it onto the bus we were on. I think they had it lined up outside the bus. I'm fairly certain my DH would have had a heart attack :scared1: had he not been able to verify all our luggage had arrived. Anyone else recall this procedure? Then the luggage showed up piece by piece at our stateroom at various times thru-out the afternoon and evening. -Ellen:moped:

Michelle, it's ok to be stressed about your luggage because you've had some bad prior experiences. I wish I could offer you some guidance, but this is our first Disney cruise. We are flying in tomorrow at 10 am and staying at my in-laws in Vero Beach, which means I don't have to worry about the luggage transfer. So take a deep breath and just do what feels right for you. Don't worry about what anyone else thinks. Actually, this is going to be my mantra the entire cruise! As I dance and wiggle my butt, or sing out loud to the songs or cry when I hear the ship's horn:sad: ....I will be thinking "Don't worry about what anyone else thinks!

Thanks! I've never read the book and had no idea. Still may take DD8 to see it, giving her advance warning, but will avoid with DS7 and DD5.

Good luck with the luggage dilemma! You're not too long-winded. I'm so unreasonably excited about this trip that I eagerly read every word of every post and find it riveting - I'm not kidding. Type on.

Beth:woohoo:

Beth: I am doing the exact same thing. DH thinks it's hilarious. :rotfl: I guess it is good to know that someone finds the stream-of-consciousness :crazy2: I post here to be riveting. Or at least worth a glance. I actually DREAMED that I was online reading DIS posts last nite... -Ellen :moped:

Caro and I will pack tomorrow (Thursday) our flight leaves Seattle at 11:55 PM. We finished our last minute shopping, almost. Alana still needs some earrings and since she only has one ear pierced (don't ask), we need to find clip on.

goodnight all, see you soon.
