Carolyn I saw your post on the main board on the thread about tendering in on St Thomas. I opened the link that someone gave but couldn't figure it out. Did you find out if we are tendering in? :confused3

Good luck to your "boys"! That's the terrible thing about a cold sport like that - DD13 has been an ice skater since she was 5 - now she is a teacher for the little kids just learning to skate. Very proud, but darn cold!

Love to watch the little girls learning to skate. Too cute! Your daughter must skate very well if she's been at it this long!

On a different note, should I be packing more than 1 sweatshirt per kid? I 'm feeling like this is a game. Ladies and gentlemen, will she get it right or blow it. Will the kids freeze or be perfectly fine. Help.

No, the 2nd link that was posted only has January and February '07 listed. I sure would like to know, so I can tell my Mom. I wonder if it's hard to do a tender with a wheelchair?

To our more experienced group of cruisers...do the bike rentals at CC have training wheels and what type of path are we able to bike on...sandy/dirt path or paved type path?

Thanks All....
Oh, and by the way....OMG! just a mere week and we are heading towards paradise...

From what I have read and what I remember, yes there are some bike with training wheels. The bike trail is paved. We did the rental package (Float, Fins/Mask/Snorkel, Bikes) last time and never got around to the bikes. We were so busy on the three-day that we rested at CC.

 On our honeymoon cruise, we pre-booked the bikes at CC but once we got there, we realized what we really wanted to do was just relax on the floats. So we traded our bike tickets in for the blue mat floats - best decision we made that day! :thumbsup2

I'm packing a zippered sweatshirt/jacket for the kids - that way if they need it to put over their shirts it can be used whenever they need it (without have to do laundry). BUT I'm also bringing a trial size detergent too just in case :laundy:
When we went in February '05 on the Eastern, it was only cold in FL. Everywhere else we were was BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!! Ah, paradise, 1 week from today we will be in FL!

So Stacy, does this mean you will be able to join us at Grills Friday night??

Count us in for Grills! It appears the place we wanted to go to has been shut down while it is being investigated for food poisoning. :guilty: So Grills it is for Friday night... DH's family will all be with us so we will have to sit with them but I'll come by and say hi :wave2: to the mob! Who all is going to Grills?

Hi Carolyn,
According the to this site,
http://www.vinow.com/general_usvi/cruiseship/cruise_2007/STT-Feb.php
it looks as if a ship only tenders in if there are six or more ships in port that day.
I found a site, www.cruisecal.com, which shows that on March 7 there are five ships scheduled to be at St. Thomas so I'm thinking that there will be no need to tender. I'm hoping we dock so we can get off quickly and get over to St. John as early as possible.

Great, right now it is our 5, Mark & Johnna's 5, Shirley from "The Perfect Gift" with her husband Norm, and Brenda's 4 (hopefully). How many in your extended group?

One week from tonight, can't wait.

Been busy the last couple of days, like I'm sure sure everyone else has been...so much to do.... so little time to do it...YAY:banana:   but wanted to take a quick second to say "HI" and get us off of page two!!!!

Hope everybody is having a good Friday....

Like Brenda, I've been too busy to post, but after tomorrow night (school auction) I'll be in total cruise mode!! I'll make up for the missed postings from Sunday until Wednesday!!

Happy Friday everyone - talk to you next week. Johnna

Apparently I am way behind the curve in finding this website and thread, as we leave in a week for our 3/3/07 cruise. Is it too late to join in on all the fun? My DH, DD11 and DD8 and I will be heading out from Sacramento for our second round of DCL fun... can't wait! I have been reading over your posts and laughing my head off. :rotfl2:

Welcome

It is not too late as far as I can tell. There is a meet on the Promanade deck at 2:30 on Saturday, Alanapapa is getting some people together for dinner Friday night for those in Port Canaveral and a few other things.

8 days to go.

Hart

Hi and :welcome: to the group! It's never too late to join.
We're flying from CA too (San Luis Obispo) but I DH and I lived in the Rancho Cordova area from '93 to '95. I've got family in Roseville and Elk Grove also. What part of Sac are you from?
We're cruising with our two daughters, ages 4 and 9 and this is our first cruise. Look forward to meeting you next week! :yay: We'll be in the Promenade Lounge on deck 3 at 2:30 on Saturday.
party:

Wow - thanks for the warm replies! :goodvibes

Rebecca - we live in Elk Grove - small world. WISH we could live in SLO...

We are so looking forward to this cruise - and of course meeting all of you. Did WDW (4 days) and DCL (3 days) a year ago, and found the cruise so much fun we decided to skip the land portion this year and just hit the water for the full week.

Question: Last year on the short cruise there was a semi-formal nite but not a "formal" nite. So... how dressy is formal? Do I need to drag along a bejeweled ballgown princess: (as IF I own one!) or will short-but-dressy do?

-Ellen :moped: (aka Scooter Mama)

We actually live in Santa Maria, about 30 miles south of SLO but that is the nearest airport to get us to FL. My DH's parents live in Elk Grove, right near the I-5/Elk Grove Blvd exit.

Having never cruised I don't know what most of the ladies wear but I do not own anything bejewelled or floor length. The only princess: gowns we are bringing are for my DD4. My DH is waering a dark suit (not a tux) and I'll probably wear a knee-length black dress. I very rarely dress up so all of this packing for formal, semi-formal, and Palo is making me a little .

:welcome: Ellen and Family as I said to Brenda, "The More The Merrier".
Are you guys early or late dining? Will you be able to make it to Grills on Friday or do we have to wait until Saturday at Diversions to meet you?

Short but dressy is fine. We went out and bought Caropooh a formal dress and I am renting a tux. We did buy a vest & tie set for the tux which will complement the gown. Both DD's have nice dresses for the occasion. I can't remember what DMil is wearing, I have seen photos of it, but the color/cut escapes me. I think it was something she wore at an event/fundraiser for Kaiser where she volunteers.

see you all soon,

see you all soon,
it's a long blue dress(with jacket?) maybe about the color of this guys hair :scared1: that she wore for her 70th birthday party(and probably a Kaiser thing too)
