OK, change of plans...Almost everything is booked now (just need car rental from port to Orlando still) - we are staying at Radisson at the Port the Friday before the cruise
Stacy

So Stacy, does this mean you will be able to join us at Grills Friday night??

We had really wanted to do jetskis on St. Maarten, but hadn't found a place to reserve ahead of time. Did you book already, or are you planning on booking once you get there?

:worried: Sorry, I would love to, but DH's family lives in Titusville and wants to have dinner with us at a local (very good) bbq place in nearby Mims. I'm very much looking forward to our first official DISmeet on the ship though! Now I just to decide which great drink to choose from! :drinking1

I haven't yet booked online but I'm planning to. I just need to make sure I have daycare for DD1 first.... Waiting to hear back from my mom who is going with us to see if she has any plans for something to do that day. I am also going to book the parasailing tandem w/ DD13. It is so much cheaper to do it on St. Maarten than Castaway Cay. What time are you thinking about? After the waverunners and parasailing we were going to Maho to watch the planes come in but I don't want to push my luck so we are probably going to head back towards the ship around 2:30 so we don't run into all of the traffic.

We had originally planned to just do waverunners at Great Bay Beach right by the ship...someone had said that they just took the water taxi over and did waverunners and the water trampoline and just rented two chairs and an umbrella to relax on the beach. The link you gave is at a different beach I think...as was the earlier link to the beach with that kid's playstructure thingy. I'm not sure what to do now!

OK, change of plans...Almost everything is booked now (just need car rental from port to Orlando still) - we are staying at Radisson at the Port the Friday before the cruise and at the Sheraton Vistana Villages the Sat/Sun after the cruise, visiting Epcot on the Sunday after the cruise. I originally booked parasailing at Castaway Cay but am strongly considering St. Maarten instead b/c it is so much cheaper (2 people for $90 total) - we are going to rent waverunners in St. Maarten http://www.stmaarten-shoretrips.com/catalog/index.php?osCsid=60f56fc13fed2104d3ac480002f7f329
- they are $45/half hr and $80/hr - and parasailing is $50 pp or $90 for 2 people together.
Looks like we will try to do Trunk Bay during St. Thomas/St. John day - on our own - anyone joining in?

Stacy

Stacy, We are also doing Trunk Bay on our own. We should meet up and get the group taxi, it might be cheaper with all of us. We did it last time with Disney and think it might be cheaper on our own. Let us know.

Talk at you later...

Norm

Stacy,
We were wanting to do the parasailing as well. Have you already booked through this website (for St Martin)? Prices look right but it didn't say anything about time slots or age limits? I have DS8 and DD11 that I would want to go with us. What do you think?

Mike - I haven't booked yet as I am still waiting on a response from the excursion company. She has already responded to a few of my questions but I had more :cutie: One of my questions was regarding parasailing... I will see about weight restrictions but as far as I know, there isn't an age restriction, just weight. I do still need to find out about the time slots. As soon I as hear back from them, I'll post it here.

3 weeks for right now, I'll be having brunch in Palo!!!!!!!!! :dance3:

We are planning on going to go to Little Bay beach. I read some good reviews on it on this board and on cruisecritic. You can take a taxi there and rent chairs and an umbrella for the day (at the Divi Little Bay resort). Here's a map of the island with info on all of the beaches...

and here is a link to the Divi Little Bay beach resort. They rent waverunners but I don't know if you have to reserve them in advance.

I have not been on the boards for a few days and all I have to say is "wow" at the explosion of posts.

I was the Cruise Planner From Hell for the last two years and am taking a much more mellow approach this year. The only excursion that we have booked in the submarine tour (it's a long story, but we booked it and missed it last year).

I'm am one who, when on vacation, likes to fly by the seat of my pants; plan what I am going to do when I wake up. My missus, on the other hand, is the Queen of Lists.

We'll see who wins out.

I'm really starting to get excited now.

Rebecca - funny you should say that.... we got an email from the company that does the waverunners (they were the company we found at Great Bay) and here is their response:
Good evening Ken,

Thanks for your enquiry.

Until last week our Wave Runner rentals & excursions departed from Portofino Marina in Simpson Bay. We just moved away from there and are now offering these services at the Belair Beach Resort in Little Bay. I'm still in the procedure of changing everything related on our website.

You can definitely pre-book. Our Wave Runner rentals run daily from 9:00 to 5:00. Our Guided Wave Runner Tours depart daily at 9:00 and 1:00.
How many Wave Runners would you need ?
When will you be vacationing on "The Friendly Island" ?
Where exactly will you be staying ?

A 20 % credit card deposit will secure your activities.
Our website does not yet feature a secure online booking system. Please call me on the number below with your reservation and credit card info.
The balance is payable the day of your visit : cash or with traveler's cheques.
The deposit will only be refunded for weather purposes.

Let me know if there's anything else I can help you with, whether watersports or island related.

Have a great weekend !

Always at your service.

What a coincidence Stacy. I guess we'll be seeing you (and maybe mommykeg's family too!) at Little Bay :wave2:. Our plan is to head there in the morning and leave the afternoon free for whatever.

I am SO with you and Johnna on the whole 'lists' thing. I like to know where, when, why, how long, how much, what to wear,...:rotfl:

hi all....just checkin' in before I head to bed...

I know a couple of people mentioned parasailing, but if anyone has information regarding the weight limit for parasailing, I would be interested in knowing...both single and tandem. I have done it before, in Mexico, and it was a fabulous exprience...I was MUCH thinner then though and would like to do it this time with my daughter...

Have a good night...only 3 more Monday mornings before we go away...how's that for putting it in perspective! :thumbsup2

Hola! Just checking in - love all the activity lately!

Tinkified - wow! 3 more Mondays does really put in into perspective, doesn't it?:dance3: :jumping1: :rainbow:

We're leaving here in the 24th, so I started organizing the suitcases today - and did some more shopping, of course:angel: Here's to hoping the next couple of weeks FLY by!!:drinking1

I got a similar letter from the same person Stacey did...and they mentioned that we would have use of the pool, chairs, umbrella's, etc. of the resort while we are there...that doesn't sound right, but it would be cool!

Rebecca...Alexis got Emily's e-mail and we're working on a response tonight after she's done practicing the piano! How cool it would be for the girls to be able to hang out together at the beach...and the little ones too! I'm getting so excited now!
