to Michaels Mom (sorry, haven't caught up with the real names quite yet)..our last name is Taggart

As far as the cruise meet goes....We are probably the late comers to arrive at PC...we land at MCO at 12:30...so we probably won't be to the ship much earlier than 3pm....I know, I know...I would have loved to come in the day before the cruise, but it just wasn't happening as far as work goes...as it is, I am doing something I really shouldn't in the first place! That said, don't hold up the meet for us...hopefully we will just join you already in progress!

Also...I have small foam lime green mickey heads...I was cutting them out for my- previous-didn't-happen cruise on 1/20. I was going to put sticky back pins on the back of them...Any one interested? I can also just hole punch them to be hung on a lanyard...Let me know what you think....I have over 100 of them....looks like we might need that many anyway!

Wow- did I have a lot of reading to catch up on!

:wave2: and :welcome: to the new families!

I think Johnna's idea to meet in the promenade lounge is great. Of course I've never been on the ship so what do I know? :rotfl: I do know that I like (ok, love) to have a :drinking1 or two.

Michaels mom- I pm'd you about the group brunch. Count us in.

I can't believe we are almost less than a month away. I need to hit the malls soon. I have no idea what we are going to wear for embarkation, formal night, etc...
We have no excursions planned. We'll probably just be beaching it. Most of the excursions that DD4 could go on did not appeal to us. Our beaches (and ocean temps) are so cold here. It will be nice to just sit under an umbrella with a drink in hand watching the DD's build sand castles. My idea of heaven! :cloud9:

Does anyone else have a gty cabin? When we booked our cat 6 they only offered us a gty. I'm dying to know where we will be :hyper:

Count us in for the lounge meet, with 90+ people Andie's room will crowded real quick, 2:30-3:30 is a perfect time. It will give everyone time to get situated for lifeboat drill and then to the sailaway part. This group is getting bigger by the day.

Let's get some pictures posted on the Mac site so we all know what we are looking for.
See you all in a month.

Norm

MrSanderz - got your PM and added you to the list. We still need 3 more people to meet the minimum of 12, though...:confused3

Tinkified - the lime Mickey heads sounds like a good idea  to me - what a great way to identify us DISers! Count me in!:goodvibes

Michelle - we'd love mickey-heads; and can't you just pin your pin to your lanyard rather than punch a whole in it? Just a thought to save you more effort!

Brenda and I have been discussing some activity for the kids during our meet - any ideas anyone?? I know my DD would love to just color, but DS won't be occupied with that for very long. But some easy activity - like a "where's waldo" puzzle that is Disney of course, could keep him busy, and with that, the kids can help each other and get them talking to each other too. What do you guys think???

If no one else signs up for brunch, Mark and I might go again; and if we add DUncle, that's 3. But we don't want to take away someone else's chance to go. Let Mark weigh in on this...

Alternatively, you can fill our names in to secure the reservation, and then we can trade our spots with someone else if they want them.

Last night I cut out 44 disney heads paint chips from Home Depot.. I thought the kids could each write their names on them...and i'll bring self stick magnets for the backs, then they can stick them on the stateroom doors????? O.k. I think that will take care of 2 minutes of our 1 hour meet:rotfl: :rotfl:
Next chance I get to go to Home Depot, (it's about 45 minutes away) I will pick up some more:)

And yes Tinkified, the green foam Mickey heads sound awesome:thumbsup2

Sounds good - I'll wait to hear from Mark on this one, but this way I can fax on the ressie either tonight (I think I have a fax machine in somewhere here at home that I could hook up!) or tomorrow morning from the office! I'm going to try for the Monday brunch, as I have reservations for High Tea on the Thursday (not sure exactly what that will entail, but it's in Palo's so it can't be bad:rotfl: )

Can you believe tomorrow our countdown timer is going to say ONE MONTH??????? :woohoo: :yay: :dance3: :cheer2:

No, I can't believe it!
Speaking of tomorrow is anyone going to be on the phone trying to book for 2008? We are hoping to sail on the 5/25/08 7-day. We missed the ship in 2005 and since we are only 3 hours from the LA port how can we not go? :)

Okay - who took Andrew and replaced him with "man of few words?"

I resemble that remark. Okay, I will admit I was not my usual loquatious self, but I believe something or somebody started calling me as soon as I started typing.

Hi everyone. We are a family of three with a five year old (William) his mom (Susan) and Dad (me) (Hart). All are veterans of Disney but new to crusing. We will stay at Disney for a couple days and head to the boat Saturday morning.

I am amazed that you all have been discussing this so long. We booked a while ago but just started focusing on the trip. I feel so behind. I have read your posts with delite and hope someone can answer some questions. I know there is another place for questions but it is nice to hear from people we will be traveling with.

First, are there others in this group with five year olds boys. Ours is excited to travel but sad that his friends are not with us.

Next as a new person to these boards, what does DD etc stand for?

More importantly, do most of you use the kids club? How many hours in a day?

Is a suit worn on formal night acceptable?

Any other thoughts are appreciated.

I am sure there is so much more I should learn and prepare for but we are excited to share this cruise. Just over 30 days to our fun!

Hart

First of all, let me be the first to welcome you and your family!!!!!:welcome:

This is only our 2nd cruise, the first being a 3 day, so I am far from a seasoned cruiser, but will attempt to answer some of your questions....

We only have DD's (disney daughter) ages 10 & 13... no boys... sorry

As far as a suit goes, from what I have read, is perfectly fine!!!! On the 3 day cruise we only had semi-formal night... So DH (disney husband:) ) wore dockers w/ tie....

Kids club...again, didin't do them much, just cuz there wasn't much time for us to take advantage of it...but my DD's are really looking forward to it this time. From everything I have read, the kids love the clubs, as do the parents...

You probably read, that we are all planning to meet prior to setting sail...this is still in the works, so stay tune:surfweb: There is also a Palo brunch planned as well, I think that there is still room for 3 adults, so maybe you and your DW (disney wife:thumbsup2 ) would be interested in that.. I think Michael's Mom is taking care of that ressie.. Palo Restraunt, is quite popular. you do need resservations to eat there.

I'm sure you have alot more questions..just keep reading these boards, I have learned quite abit from them. And as you have already seen, we have a great group sailing with us!!!!!!

Brenda:)

:welcome: Welcome to the group Hart, Susan, and William. I sent a PM to you with some of the answers.

Yes, from what I hear, a suit is fine.

Are you early or late dining?

Even though you are staying at WDW, any way we can convince you to come by Friday Night to Grills for the Pre-Cruise Meet??
