I hope you find your thread, if not start your own. You also have a great time on your vacation.

Where in Idaho are you? We keep talking about trying to do a NW DIS-meet somewhere.

I hope you all enjoy a turkey day full of football, food, family and fun. :thumbsup2 We Storys are on our own with just one friend joining us, but still cooking a 17lb. turkey and all the trimmings. Can you say "leftovers?"

My pre-cruise diet officially starts on Sunday...all the pie should be gone by then :rotfl:

We are just outside of Boise; I consider us to be in paradise. I love it here, I'm originally from Illinois, but moved out here 17 years.

I found the thread I need to be in, but at this point it looks like we are all 1st time cruisers. Which is o.k., but I do like advice from seasoned cruisers.

If anyone has any advice, I would love it. If you don't mind, if I have any questions can I come in your thread and ask? I read a ton of books on the Disney Cruises and Disney vacations, so I am getting a lot of questions answered, but I seem to come up with stuff that isn't in the books.

Linda -- Welcome!!! I don't think anyone would mind answering your questions but you may want to post them on the main page instead of inside this thread. The main board gets a lot more action!!! And, you may find that someone has already asked the same questions you have as well. Here's the link: http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=9
Enjoy your cruise!

I guess I just couldn't figure out how to post on the main thread, so I am going to ask the question of you guys and see if you know.

We have 3 days land and then 4 days cruise. I would like to do a princess breakfast for my daughter, but didn't know if there was going to be one on the cruise (it appears to me that may only be on the 7 day cruises) or if I should plan on reserving one in the park for her? Another question relating to this, would we have time to do a princess breakfast in the park and then go to the boat on Sunday or do I need to plan it another day? My thought was not to spend time on the princess breakfast on the days we want to get rides in, etc.

I don't know the answer to the first question, but if you are taking the DisneyCruise Bus from the resorts, you might not want to plan anything in the morning. We did our own Land and Sea in July 05 and we were up very late each night. We stayed at the AKL and just stayed around there the last morning. Which resort are you staying at and where are you being picked up from? Where is the Princess Breakfast held?

Linda -- There aren't any Princess breakfasts on the Disney cruise line. There is a character breakfast on the 7 night but no princesses there. In the parks, you can choose between a couple of dining options -- Epcot has Restaurant Akershus and in the Magic Kingdom there is Cinderella's Royal Table. Plus a few other options too -- check out this link: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/princessess.htm#gala

Good luck!!!

Yo everyone - how's it going? One holiday down! I cannot believe my counter actually is 96 days and counting! Can you believe it?

Can you also believe there are 86 people on my list?? I've added a bunch of new families, including my inlaws who have booked for the 7th deck with a 1/2 verandah. What's up with that? We're down on deck 2!! Oh well, they are Norm and Liz (no, not a Junior). Get ready for 70s night - my father in law loves to dance. He and my MIL stayed out last time while we fell into bed at 10:30 pm!!!

I need email addresses from ChrisnSteph, Disneybridein2k3, ejkjmom, Indea88, jlbridg2, joker04 04, MamaSnarks, MrSanderz, NNM, Qball and rpclmc. If I neglected to get your email address please forgive. I haven't been able to check it recently.

I'll send on a list to everyone tonight - check your emails!!!

Thanks for the replies.

We are staying at the Port Orleans/French Quarter. I heard the AKL (I am assuming this is the Animal Kingdom Lodge) is great.

My husband and I are thinking that if we don't tell her they have a princess breakfast, we just may get out of having to do that. Plus there will be so many characters around the park (and it looks like also on the cruise) that she will have enough of them.

Has anyone ordered the Birthday Celebrationstuff on the cruise (the door stuff and the cake)? Is it worth it or should I just do stuff here at home and attach them myself?

The AKL is more than great it is FANSTASTIC. It is amazing to look out your balcony and see the animals right there. I don't think there is a resort at WDW that isn't great, and Caropooh and & have stayed at 6 different places over the years.

As to the Birthday Celebration, from what I have read, people get a better bang for their buck getting something through Shirley at Perfect Gift or from Indea88 (who also has a company doing cruise baskets). Why don't you PM them and ask for some help? Make sure you tell your servers and Dining Room staff when the day is.

We did not order this package on the cruise last year. Instead, I brought balloons, streamers, and signs from home and decorated both the room and our door while he (DS) was at breakfast with his dad - he was suprised when they came to "wake me up" and saw the decorations! DS was given a cake at dinner (big enough for all of us and our table mates).

One more week til we can book excursions/Palo/spa - yeah :thumbsup2

We're thinking of sticking with Magen's Bay in St. Thomas as our excursion there - the idea of a 1-hour ferry ride PLUS a 15-minute taxi to get to Trunk's Bay doesn't sound that appealing to me at the moment - any suggestions?

In St. Maarten - I'm thinking of doing the Under 2 Flags thingy - maybe the butterflies?

Any other options on "must-do"s?

Here in the Puget Sound we received and unseasonable cold and snow storm last night and right now we're are stuck at home. We can get out of the driveway, but the road is iced over and we don't get any traction. Caropooh already called into work to say she wont make it (She works 2:00 to 10:30 PM) and I have left a couple of messages at mine to say I will check the road after the sun comes out (if it does).

We may be semi-snowed in, but both cabins of our cruise ARE PAID OFF!!!!!!!
:cool1:  :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :woohoo: :yay: :dance3: :bounce: :dancer: party: :jumping1: :jumping3: :jumping2: :dumbo: :simba: :figment: :stitch: :goofy: :sulley: :hmghost: :tigger: :ccat: :mickeyjum :donald: :dogdance:

Alanapapa paid them off just before he was finally able to get out our driveway. He just called and has made it to work safe. Let's hope he makes it home safe too.

I did. :cool1: :Pinkbounc :yay: :bounce:

I was only at work for 3 1/2 hours, but that was more than a lot of others. Right now (6:00 PM) the temp is 24 degrees. It is supposed to get tdown into the teens. It NEVER gets that cold here.

Alanapapa - glad u made it home safe:)

Alanapapa/Caropooh - yeah! It feels so good to be paid off, doesn't it? We paid ours off a couple weeks ago :bounce:

Contrary to your weather, ours has been unseasonably warm - right around the 60 degree mark - but it's supposed to be down in the 30s by the weekend:(

Ditto. Glad to hear Alanapapa/Caropooh are both home safe and sound. Hope you stocked up on lots of toilet paper, milk and bread like everyone does before a big storm. What's up with that???? :confused3

And ditto on the unreasonably warm weather - it's been in the 60's for the last few days here in the nation's capitol. But we are looking toward a very chilly weekend - with one last outdoor soccer game on Sunday. :cold: Yes, to me, anything below 50 is :cold: - why do you think we plan our cruises for Feb/March????

O.K. I got you all beat...When we woke up this morning it was 4 degrees w/ a wind chill of 15 below...can you say brrrrrr.... we only had a skiff of snow though.

When we came home from Iowa on Sunday, we had to pull over and get a motel room about 250 miles away from home due to VERY icy roads, we had a car do a 360 right in front of us on the interstate, we were going slow enough that we were able to stop, that the was enough for us to decide to pull off and get a room... when we were checking into the motel, we found out that up the road a few miles there was a really bad accident that claimed 5 lives, very sad....ended up that there was quite a few accidents....

Hope everyone had a great thanksgiving.... Welcome to our new fellow cruisers...can't belive we are getting as close to our cruise date as we are....I'm feeling a abit stressed on what ressies to make...I need to just set down and get it figured out!!!!!

Have a great day!!!
Brenda

:sunny: I just wanted to share this - I got an email from my TA yesterday to let us know about a new program whereby we can arrange (at no charge) a phone call from ::MickeyMo on Christmas day as a "vacation-notification" for WDW. Although DS already knows about it, it's ALWAYS exciting to get a call from Mickey - so we signed up for it - ::MickeyMo will call sometime between 9am and 3pm and if we're not home, he'll leave a message.

Now this is through WDW (we're going to WDW for a couple of days before the cruise) and I don't know if DCL is also doing this, but it might be worth looking into!! :cool1:
