Love the signs alanapapa! :thumbsup2

Indea88-I will be seeing you in the rainforest room! It is a chilly morning here and just thinking about those heated lounge chairs... :cloud9:

:bday: mark story!

Sending you some pixiedust: for a successful closing on the sale of your house.

Happy Birthday :bday: to our two fellow birthday cruiser that just coincidently both turn "39" today :thumbsup2
Rebecca (Mr Sanderz) & Mark (Mark's Story)

Hope you both have a good day :wizard:

Thanks to everyone both for the birthday wishes and the pixie dust for the sale of our house. Both went off without a hitch.

As President Ford said when accouncing his decision to pardon Richard Nixon, "Our long national nightmare is over."

Mark

P.S. - So who's getting up at 3AM a week from Sunday to make online reservations?

Yes, but if it is 3:00 AM for us West Coasters, isn't it 6:00 AM and not a big deal to you East Coast Early Birds?

Happy birthday to Mark & Rebecca - sorry I'm late - was out of town for a few days :bday:

I will be one of those up at 3am to make ressies on the 3rd - but I'm sure my DH & DS will be sleeping soundly and securely while I facilitate the best possible trip :rotfl:

I can't remember - are we on the list for the Palo Brunch? If not, can we be added? NNM, too? What day is the brunch? And pirate pirate: night is on the Tuesday, right? Any other special dates I need to be aware of? :confused3

Wanted to be the first to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!! !!!!!

I'm waiting for DH to get back and then we are taking off for Iowa to spend Thanksgiving with our Aunt and Uncle.... Hope everyone has a good week and a great Thanksgiving...

So who all will be celebrating a B-day or Anniv while we are cruising? Our DD7 will have her 8th on the Monday and we will celebrate DD12's 13th the last day (Her B-day is 24th of Mar), and Caropooh & I were wondering who else will have a celebration onboard.

 Hello everyone! The Mogle family checking in....better late than never, right??? This cruise is a surprise (shhh!) for our DD12's 13th birthday (actual DOB is 3/11 - cruise ends 3/10 so we will spend the night and go to Epcot for the 11th. We aren't quite sure yet how we will be telling her about the cruise... She will miss 6 days of school -- I'm trying to decide when to leave. I don't want to take the chance of missing the flight if we leave Saturday morning (MD - could still snow in March) but I hate to have DD miss yet another day of school. So then I thought of a late Friday night flight but hate to pay for transportation to a hotel and then again pay for transportation to the Port in the morning. What to do?????

Stacy, DH Ken, DD12 (almost 13) Morgan, and DD 14 months Julianne

Thanks for the warm welcome!:grouphug: That sounds great - I know Morgan would be pleased to celebrate her birthday with Alana (if she knew, of course!!!)

If anyone is bringing their digital camera and looking to have photos burned to a disk, I am bringing my laptop that has a burner and extra disks. Just wanted to throw that out there -- no sense in paying Shutters to have your pics burned to a disk when I can do it for free, right??? Just remember to bring the usb cord that came with your camera so we can hook it up!

Welcome Stacy - aka my new best friend!!! What a nice offer to burn everyone's pix to a disc. You're so cool. :cool1: I'm pretty sure we'll bring our computer too and Mark can do it, but if not, count on one disc set aside for the Storys. Hope you've caught up on all the group plans for meeting - both pre-cruise in Port Canaveral and on board, and Palo brunch(es) and whatever else we come up with between now and then. :cheer2:

We're also coming from MD and planning ahead to come on Thurs to extend our vacation just a bit. So for advice - I suggest you come down on Friday at the latest (who needs the stress of weather or airport or other delays on the day of the trip??). As for lodging/transportation, you should probably just price out the Orlando Hyatt and DCL transport for Sat. am, or renting a car and driving to PC (depending on how late your flight gets in). The Radisson has free transport, and I'm sure other hotels do too, or if not, it's minimal to pay Art's Taxi (like $3/pp) to the port. Of if you've rented a car, you can return the car to Budget (or whomever) most of whom provide free transportation to the port once you've returned the car. So you have a lot of options.

Tell me where is Smithburg MD in relation to DC? Maybe we can have a pre-cruise meet before we leave to compare tasting of all our favorite tropical drinks or something?? :Pinkbounc

Welcome Stacey and family! Happy Birthday Mark and Rebecca :wizard:
I can't wait to be on a cruise that is toddler friendly ;) DS12, DS3 and I went to PF Changs for lunch today after church and my toddler let out a few joyful screams and the people next to us yelled "shut that child up, will you!!! Then proceded to call me a "stupid idiot" when they were running packing.... I really believe that there is an entire subculture of people who despise children and feel that they should be kept at home and not out in public  The only reply I could muster up was "Excuse me?" I kept my cool on the children's behalf. The waiter gave us an extra dessert to help ease our discomfort
How many days do we have?? :moped: Happy Turkey Day to everyone!! :stir:
Andie, Jeff, Devon and Derek!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the great advice!!! As for the offer, I really don't mind if it helps everyone out. I know there will be a lot of time where I'm not doing a whole lot due to DD (she will be 14 mos on the cruise). It's so funny...usually I am the planner for everything Disney but I didn't plan our first Disney cruise (honeymoon - DH planned it) and I planned the 2nd but didn't worry as much about pulling DD (then 10) out of school because it was 5th grade instead of 7th grade. It looks like your idea of coming in on Friday night and staying somewhere that has transportation is our best bet.
Smithsburg is in Western MD -- It is Washington County - close to Frederick County and about 1 1/2 hrs to DC. We usually make a trip to DC at Christmas to see the trees at the Ellipse. And also the DC Improv :goodvibes Drinks sounds great!!!

my DS6 turns 7 on March 13 and we're also celebrating on the ship - we did this last year as well, although we were actually on the ship then for his b-day - it was not problem to add the notification this year. Sounds like there is going to be a number of celbrations on board this year party:

Indea88 - sorry you had such an awful experience with your lunch today :sad2: - some people are just plain rude - it sounds like you handled yourself better than I would - I become a "momma bear" when it comes to my son

Disneybridein2k3 - :welcome: Stacy & family to the group :grouphug: What an awesome surprise for your DD - I would NEVER be able to keep a secret like that - I get WAY too excited :cool1: :woohoo:

:welcome: Stacy and family. What a great birthday surprise. Can't wait to hear how you're going to tell your DD about the cruise.

Indea88-Such intolerance of children never ceases to amaze me. I was reading a thread on cruisecritic about kids & cruising and one poster said he believes children have no business being on cruises. Guess he'll never cruise DCL-thank goodness!

Thanks for all the birthday wishes! I actually went to the dentist on my birthday. I know, what dork would make an appt on her birthday? Me! :teeth:

Hi. New to this. Actually, new to all of it. Just booked our first cruise (well actaully 3 days land, 4 days cruise). My daughter will be turning 8 on the cruise. I welcome any advise (of any kind) and suggestions of how to make it a special day on the cruise.

Hi Welcome to the Dis. I have a feeling though you are in the wrong thread. When are you going on your cruise? Let your servers know what day your DD's birthday is and I am sure they will make it quite special.
