March 3, 2007

speaking of valium....I think I'm in need of some today...We are having Emily's 13th b-day party :bday: tonight, a fear factor party w/ 22 of her friends  and DH just left to go drag racing :car:.... MEN.. pirate:

SO is everyone just thinking of holding off on passports :confused3 ??? It would be a great savings if we didn't have to get them...

Indea, Caropooh & Alanapapa I'm sending you some pixiedust pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: for your DING :wizard: , and Indea if I get my hands on some Valuim, I'll share lol :flower3:

Mamasnarks, congratulations :cheer2: again on becoming a family of 3

Amandalinz, :welcome: to our group :grouphug: , we are glad you found us :magnify:

I love the challenge that Johnna gave us (cute), can't wait to see what everyone comes up with :surfweb: .... I know I'm short of winning that yummy Bahama Mama :drinking1 , but all these smiles made for a colorful post :)

Have a fun weekend :wave2:

We are going to get our passports renewed anyway - DS's doesn't actually expire until '09 :thumbsup2 , but DH's & mine expire in Feb '07 - since we're not flying in, I don't think we need them :woohoo: (even though we're from Canada). I've had one since I was 17 (that long ago - yikes!).

So, anyone into baseball?? Hurray! It has been 22 LONG years, but the Tigers are in the World Series again at last :dancer: I bet Comerica park would have been a :crowded: , and :jumping2: :jumping1: place to party: tonight! Three :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: for the Tigers!!!

MamaSnarks - a hearfelt congratulations :teeth: :thumbsup2 to you and your family :rainbow: - good friends of ours are just finalizing adopting their son this week - They waited two years and are so excited, as I'm sure you must be as well :cloud9: - hopefully your TA can do something about your cancelled ressie and you three can still make the :sail: - I wonder, if you contacted DCL directly and explained it to them, maybe they'd be able to help you out? :confused3

I don't think I've beat any challenges in terms of the smilies  , but like ejkjmom, I'm looking forward to reading :surfweb: the colourful posts :artist:

Well, gotta run for now :moped: I think DS if finally asleep and I don't want to be too far behind :tiptoe: I'll check back in soon :hourglass

:sunny: Good Morning everyone. Happy Monday.

I hope you all had great weekends, Caropooh & I did. We were able to be childless on Saturday night and went out to see a non-kid movie (don't want to use the term "adult movie" we aren't that type) and then to dinner. Just the two of us. Lat night made up for being chlidless though, we had a swim party at the Y for the GS troop and then went to Red Robin, 9 kids and 5 adults, oh well.

hello everyone...

We recieved our travel kit guide(the ship and shore booklet) today in the mail from our TA, just wondering if anyone else has received anything yet? Also the planning calender w/ the dates that we can start booking.

December 3rd is when returing cruisers can start booking(if our final payment is made by then), and final payment is due Dec 18th.

SO, has anyone thought about shore excursions??? Alanappa and Caropooh,I know that you metioned one that sounded fun.

Gosh, when we booked (back in March) it seemed sooooooo far away, and now, today, after receiving the information packet, it's hard to believe that it is as close as it is.... and w/ the holidays approaching, it's is going to be March before we know it :cheer2:

I guess for any of us that have planned to go on that pre cruise diet, (that would be me  ) we better get with it!!!????? UGG

ejkjmom - wow! how exciting! We haven't received ours yet, but now I know to make checking the mail more of a priorty ;)

I was thinking of doing the butterfly excursion and the "under 2 flags" excursion in St. Maarten - I don't know about St. Thomas yet - definately something beachy :teeth:

The butterfly excursion was the one that caught my eye as well, Marigot sounds so beautiful, w/ the sidewalk cafes & open air markets.

Also we thought that the "DUCK tour" that alanapapa was talking about, would be something that was both fun and different... we have always thought about doing it on other trips we have taken before, but never have ... Alanapapa where did you find info on that at????

We are kinda of lazy traveller's, and like to just hangout & enjoy popcorn:: , so we don't plan on doing alot of excursions,

:rotfl: :rotfl: - I started saying "grown-up" movie becuase the "adult movie" thing was a little too weird for me to tell my kids.

Last trip, our DUncle really enjoyed the submarine tour in St. Thomas - DH and DS were about to do it, but DS got seasick on the tender to the sub, so he was not a happy camper and they didn't do the tour. And DD and I didn't do anything in St. Thomas (except shop at the center right at the port) so I'm looking forward to some kind of excursion this year.

As for St. Maarten, we did a tour on our own (non-Dis) which was really good for grownups and older kids (8+) but not so much for the kids. I hope we have better weather this time b/c last trip it rained the day we were there, and didn't go to the beach at all. That's one reason why I picked March instead of Feb. hoping for better weather. We'll see...

What - I didn't use any smilies? What's wrong with me??? :sad2:

 Yeah! 3 more going on the cruise :cheer2: - our neighbour (DN??) and her two kids booked last night :thumbsup2 - I sent an email to DCL asking them to coordinate meals and, if possible, room locations (she is GTY) - so hopefully... :goodvibes

Do these neighbors (excuse me neighbours) have names?? :confused3 Are you going to show them the DIS, and introduce them to us?I am glad for you, you have someone close by to get excited with.

No, the do not have names :lmao: And of course I showed them the DIS (immediately after booking!) - but it was kind of late and she didn't register at that time...I'll let her introduce herself when she does get up and runnng:)

So will we just call them No Name Mom, No Name Kid 1 and No Name Kid 2? (NNM, NNK1 and NNK2, for short)

Very funny!! :rotfl2: NNM is Shelley, NNK1 is Mitchell (10) and NNK2 is Nicole (7) I just thought it would be nice if she did it, but I guess that I don't even know if she will get online (not as addicted to DIS as I am :surfweb: )! My new mission is to get NNM online :rotfl: :thumbsup2

We even helped her come up with a sign-on name, aren't we nice people. :rotfl: Tell Shelley, Mitchell, and Nicole welcome to the family.

:lmao: So nice! :p Anyone know anything about taking a ferry to Anguilla from St. Maarten - a friend of mine (who now lives in Toronto but is originally from St. Maarten - French side) said that Anguilla is known for it's white sandy beaches :cloud9: ?

That will be our excursion while in St.Maarten! The last time we were there on our honeymoon, we missed the Anquilla excursion. A pristine, gorgeous place to snorkel and enjoy the unhabitation.
:sunny:
Oh! I do remember that high speed ferry to St.Bart's from St.Maarten, DH looked pretty green :bounce: and had to enjoy the ride from the back of the boat.
So here's hoping the trip to Anquilla is by sail and not ferry!!!! :goodvibes

Yes they do seem to be, but if you count 4 months form today you are at Feb 22 and then take it from there it is right. It must be the Pixie Dust pixiedust:

Got room for another family? We are: me-Rebecca, my DH-Jim, DD4-Elise and DD9-Emily. We are sooooo excited as this is the first cruise for any of us :cool1: This sounds like a great group. Yes I have read the entire thread-I've been lurking for weeks. My DD Emily is very happy to see so many other girls her age. Looking forward to getting to know you all over the next few months! pooh:

Hi! NNM is now online :thumbsup2 Me & the kids are looking forward to meeting you all. This is the first time we've ever gone on a cruise. :Pinkbounc
