The Palo brunch meet is a wonderful idea! We missed the brunch on our last cruise, and would love to have a group brunch! For the spreadsheet we are Jeff, Andrea, Devon and Derek Knoerzer.(Jeff and I for the brunch!) :thumbsup2 :grouphug:

I may be widowed by the time of the cruise if this keeps up. "Mr. Brown" may find himself the victim of an unfortunate "accident" :confused3

Well with 300 attorneys in your office, I am sure you would be well defended.

Well, with ONLY 269 days to go, we're well on our way to a great Disney Cruise.

We have a host for a DISMeet and a Keeper of the Spreadsheet who will help all of us keep our names (and more importantly, children's ages) straight.

There's only one more thing that we need, and that is a Palo brunch in their private room. We did so twice on our last cruise. The way to arrange it is to call Disney directly; you can't do it through the Web site. I think that it's the standard $10 per person charge. But I assure all of you that it is not to be missed. I think that it's better than their dinners.

SO --- if you guys are interested, let me know and I'll investigate when we can make the reservation. And please email me and let me know how many in your party would be attending. If memory serve, I think that the room can hold up to 14 people.

So far, it would be

Count me (Kim) and DH (Danny) in on the Palo brunch in the private dining room!

I'm excited about our cruise countdown, but it's overshadowed by my countdown at work...only 7 more days until the end of the school year (I teach 1st grade)!!!!! Just finished report cards and I'm on :cloud9: !!!

If there is still room DH (Ron) and myself (Brenda) would love to join in on the Palo Brunch.

A quick update on DM, she has been in the hospital almost 5 weeks now. There has been no improvement at all.. we now have Hospice involved, so all we can do now, is leave it up to God. I appreciate all your well wishes and prayers

Mommykeg, I can feel your excitment about the nearing of the school year...(on a much smaller level though). We are having our VBS this week, I am the director , and let me tell you, I am ready for friday to get here!!! (And I don't even have to do report cards)

Every year I do VBS, I get a whole new appreciation for teachers. Planning for just one week is kicking my butt.. I can't imagine planning for a whole school year!!!! So hats off to you!!

One last thing, I want to :welcome: our 2nd Kim, and your family to the group :grouphug: ..

ejkjmom,
Thanks for welcoming me to the group! I'm glad your Mom is doing better. It's a tough life when we have to watch loved ones, and our friends loved ones go through sickness. Live life to its fullest - you only get one shot at this life. I've no regrets - only bills that will be paid. My child has wonderful memories of fun. I'm happy to say the good DOES outweigh the bad/sad in our lives.

So, I guess I'll have to start looking into sites for excursions? I'll keep you all posted.

Have a great weekend everyone. Soccer will engulf my weekend so I'll catch up with you all during the week!

Kim - we did a non-Disney excursion through shore excursions. com (all one word) tour of St. Maarten that was supposed to have included time at the beach, but it was bad weather that day, so we didn't do the beach, but the tour was pretty good. On St. Thomas, the boys were supposed to do the submarine tour (through Disney) but DS got sick on the tender boat to the submarine. He and DH were pretty disappointed; DUncle said it was really good. Those are the only two on the Eastern I can comment about - we didn't do any CC excursions this year. DH went parasailing on CC last year and said it was cool - very peaceful and safe. Meaning a wimp like me wouldn't even be scared! I'm thinking about trying it next year.

I'd love to do the banana boat on CC, but the kids are too small for that still. Maybe while they are in the clubs... :goodvibes

I am collecting data for the excursions. Yesterday I found a link for zip-line tours, Loterie Farm Treetop Adventure Tour in St. Martin. This is where you go out in the middle of their 'jungle' and hook up to a line and propel through the trees. You're up pretty high and I guess it's real hot in the trees. I don't know if I'll look further but omg - it is probably gorgeous.

I would like to look into Coki Beach or Trunk Bay for the St. John day. I have to snorkel have read that Trunk Bay has a snorkel trail.

I just cannot wait to get in that water. Today is such a sunny day. A big change from the rain and cold weather we've had so far this year. Our trip in March is going to be such a treat!!!

Hope everyone's weekend is grand.

Kim

Hey Kim, Keeper of the List!
Do you want to post who you have so far on "The List?" That way we can make sure we have everyone and start learning names!

Hey, what are we doing on page three? We need to be thinking about :beach: :boat: party: :drinking1 :drinking: not :laundy: or :drive:

Page 3?!?!?!?! Shame on us. I'll post just for the heck of posting and to keep us up on page 1!

La dee da.... just sitting here on a Saturday morning, thinking about going to see my Yankees play today!!! I have to take my cousin with me since DH and DS are ... UGH... Red Sox fans. Yes - we have a mixed marriage. Very interesting Octobers in our house... ;)

Hey everyone,

After a three week battle with bronchitis, I think that my head is finally back above water now. During one of my sick days, I called Disney and asked about the back room at Palo. Here's what I was told (and it corresponded exactly with what I remember):

You have to fax a request to a special person at a special phone number at Disney. They usually make the arrangements about 30 days out, so faxing the request 35 -40 days out is a good idea. They asked me to include the stuff you'd imagine, like my contact info, number of people in the party, etc., but it looks like we'll have plenty of time to make this happen.

I know that we have a "keeper of the spreadsheet," so I bet that as we get closer to our sailing date (and much like our last cruise) we'll end up getting two reservations to accomodate everyone.

So in short, we've got plenty of time, but I'm on it.

Thanks, Mark! I'm glad you're feeling better...3 weeks is a LONG time to be down and out! My summer cold hit on my last work day at school...it's like my body knew it could finally relax! :sad2: Well, it isn't stopping me...we are seriously enjoying summer in full swing...swim lessons started yesterday, day camp starts next week, and we spent today at Raging Waters! We're going again tomorrow (we have season passes) and will probably hit Disneyland later in the week (and in the weeks to come--we have annual passes). By the time the end of July comes, I'll need to go back to work to get a break! ;)

Hey everyone! I feel like I've ditched you all. I'm still here though. I have the list and would love to get it to all of you via email. I pasted in the details below. I have our email address below - shoot me an email and I'll add it to the list and make a distribution list. That will let our kids get to know each other before the trip too!

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far...

Thanks again for doing this.
Nine families (10 if you count Joker04_04'd In-laws), that is a pretty good total. Hopefully we can add to this, I know that there are at least two other DISsers that have not joined this thread going.

Thanks for organizing the list, Kim. Every group has a Keeper of the List and we are lucky to have you.

I have just emailed you all of our particulars.

Can you guys believe that I have already made our hotel reservations? We'll be doing two nights at the Radisson Resort at the Port before the cruise.

I have tentatively been shopping airfare, but haven't found one yet that is compatible with my frequent flier miles and doesn't involve some ridiculous layover in the middle of nowhere.

We keep hemming and hawing about the night before. Part of it is because of the outrageous prices on airlfare  :faint:

The Story family is off to Rehoboth Beach this weekend for a "trial run" for Castaway Cay. BDC (Before Disney Cruises), trips to the beach used to be trips to the beach. Now they are preludes to Castaway Cay.

My, how times change.

And for those of you who are curious, Mrs. Story is still without an assistant. We should start a ticker, like Walter Cronkite did, tallying the number of days that the American embassy staff were held hostage by the Iranians. :hourglass
