March 27th London Dis meet sign up

Hi Darren,

I'm hoping to take a trip down to Waterloo to see my son at WLU some time in March...you never know...maybe I can time it right & join you guys for the afternoon. I'll let you know when it gets closer. :)

That would be great Lisa let us know when you have some dates worked out.
Darren

Hi,

Can someone please tell me what you do at a DIS meet? How late do they last etc. that kind of stuff.

I might be able to make it there too. I would need to know where it is, since I have not heard of the place where you are meeting.

First, you have to dress up as your favourite Disney character. Don't take Goofy - that's mine. Then, someone starts the Tiki song and we all join in. We insist on calling the servers "cast members" and insist they call us "guests." Then we play musical chairs for one share of Disney stock. When the food arrives, we set it up on the table and walk around it like a buffet making animal noises to pretend it's Bomas. The party usual breaks up just after midnight. Last one to leave pays.

It's at Tiger Jack's - corner of Wharncliffe and Southdale, beside Hooks, behind the Brick.

Wayne,

You'd better be careful because I've been known to sing in public for no reason at all. Give me other Disney freaks, a restaurant and unsuspecting patrons and I'll be in my glory. I want to be Donald but I'd need to go to Florida to get a costume.

Hey wait, another reason to go south.

Anyways, I'll see you all on the 27th. Not dressed up, but for sure singing our song. It's just like being there.

In the Tiki, Tiki, Tiki, Tiki, Tiki room.......

Okay, I think I have this DIS meet stuff all figured out now. I promise not to show up as Goofy or Donald - I would hate to make my new friends mad at me before they know me well enough to know they should get mad at me:p

I am afraid that you will have to teach me the Tiki song, cause I don't know the words or the tune to that one....oh, oh maybe that mean's I'm not allowed to join  Also whenever I sing my kids tell me to stop!!!!so you might not want to be hearing me sing.

Other than that, it sounds great (except wtg, you should have said that the newbie has to pay the bill :p , weren't thinkin' there were ya!!!)

Sounds like a fun time, I will do my best to be there.

Oops. Missed that one.

Cruisin,

We just have lunch, show pictures and talk Disney. There's no hazing or initiation. (and of course I wouldn't lie about that!)

To funny Wayne but I think the newcomers should buy lunch for the London Dis meet veterans what does everyone think of that? Just kidding so who has pics they are bringing we will be bringing ours from our Dec trip and the scrapbook Lisa just put together for everyone to see.

Does anyone bring a laptop?
All of our recent pictures are from our digital camera and are on our computer. I guess I will have to print some out to bring with me.

Cruisin', I have a digital camera too and brought DH's laptop last time. I should be able to bring it again in March (unless he needs it) as my digital pics will be on CD's too. This time though, I will pick out the best ones and make a separate disc as it takes too long to show them all. The Windows XP slideshow is great!

Thanks Julie

I will put my pictures on a CD and hope that you bring your laptop along.

Hello everyone, sounds like fun! I live in Barrie, but just clued into the fact that we are going on a mini-vacation with friends that weekend and will be at The Wheels Inn in Chatham. How far away is this from London? How long do you meet for? I wonder if the others would mind me sneaking out for a few others.....Hmmm?

I just had to see if any new info! Boy oh Boy!

Just for that I'm bringin' my Magic Kingdom Theme Park Tape!

I sent you a PM.

Oh man you couldn't have had this 2 weeks ago when we were in London. Have fun everyone and take lots of pictures. I was really surprised London didn't have a Disney store. (Took time away from hockey to enquire).
