We have the same room booked on the Fantasy for Dec. 2012 cruise. I would love to get a sneak peak at your stateroom if that would be alright with you.

**If there's any interest in doing a stateroom tour within our group let me know & I'll head it up. I can start by offering our room which is a cat 8 Deluxe Family Stateroom w/ porthole.

We've changed our plans and will not be going on this cruise. Just wanted to let you know to take us off the FE list. Hope you all have a wonderful time!

Under the "everything happens for a reason" omen, we had to move our 9/4/11 cruise to this one because of a family wedding conflict. I was bummed initially because we booked on the 1st day, picked out our special cabin, waited almost 2 years, etc. Now I'm very thankful - we have good friends going with us, its an extra day, and CC should have no issues.

Not sure CC will be repaired by 9/4 hopefully pixiedust: it will be (my sister sails 9/1).

Looking forward to spring break with no hurricanes!:thumbsup2

Hi Merilee,
Thanks for adding us to roll call and the FE. I just wanted to make a quick correction. Julian is a DS, not DD:)
Thanks,
Jennifer (jvelasco)

Hi Jennifer -

We have friends from Chicago joining us! DW 42, DH 40, DD 8, DS 6. :goodvibes

Not that you guys are neighbors or anything.....:lmao:

How badly damaged is CC? Anyone have an update? :confused3

From what I have read on the DIS boards: it needs to be dredged to get the ship in, and it wasn't until today the waves calmed enough to get heavy equipment in, bulldozers need to repair the beach, Cookies (not sure which) got its roof blown off and water inside the kitchen, and Pelican Plunge was damaged.

The Captain said 50% chance for making it on the cruise that left today. Hard to assess until they get the equipment/staff in, and that didn't happen until recently.

Is anyone going to WDW before or after the cruise? Since we are coming from Alberta we thought we might as well spend some time in Florida. We are going to spend 7 days at WDW and 3 at Universal before the cruise, and the day we get off the cruise we will spend some time at Seaworld, then home April 2nd.

We have never been to Florida before, but are really looking forward to it! We have been to California many times, Disneyland, Universal, Sea World in San Diego, Lego Land, all that. I am hoping this will be as good or better.

Has anyone been to WDW and Disneyland? I know I love to be able to leave my hotel and walk right into California Adventure - never leaving the 'magic'. I am thinking taking busses and boats everywhere will be quite a change from walking 5 minutes to get to the park.

We're planning on WDW precruise w/ 5 days at Fort Wilderness. We've never stayed at FW OR been on the Disney Dream before so we'll be doing several "firsts" on this upcoming trip.

So I am looking for something unique to give the castmembers that will do our autographed photo mats on the ship. Please tell me, do you have Cadbury Wunderbar chocolate bars or Nestle Smarties (like M&M's) in the States. We are in the States all the time, but I have never thought to look to see if there are things we have in Canada which you do not have there.

I have read that these Cadbury items are mainly available in Canada in the UK, so I thought I would check and see if this is true. Thanks!

I have never even heard of those Cadbury goodies... Must be a Canada thing :)

Isn't Cadbury the one with the bunny at Easter with those yummy Chocolate eggs? I thought he was called the "Cadbury Bunny". Not sure about the other items you mentioned. I 'll try to look out for them & let you know if I see any. :thumbsup2

Yes Cadbury does the Easter Bunny eggs. Very cool if you do not have these things in the US. Something I can bring for the castmembers that will be a little different! Thank you for letting me know.

:cool1:

Whoo Hoo! Just made our final payment on this cruise. :cool1:

Only about 5 more months left & 2 months before we can book excursions. Has anyone decided what they want to book?

Congratulations! We made our final payment a few weeks ago - right when the Canadian dollar dipped below par. I called the travel agent on Friday to make the payment and she was busy moving so she wanted to wait until the next week to do it. I said sure. That cost me $250 because of the change in the dollar. :( But it is paid off!

I don't think we are going to do excusions since this is our first cruise. We will bring our snorkel equipment with us to Castaway Cay but maybe rent floaties and/or bicycles. I am staying on the ship in Nassau with the kids so we can spend time in the pool and on the aquaduck, and the others will all taxi to the casino.

:dance3:

What you were thinking of booking?

Merilee

Not sure what shore excursions we want to do. DS wants to go parasailing on Castaway Cay. DH just says point me in the right direction & tell me where I need to be. :rotfl: For first timers you might want to do the Snorkeling with the Rays on CC. If you do, book it for the first hour if you can because they seem to be more interactive in the morning. You are given snorkel equipment that you can use for the rest of the day.

We might do the water park @ Atlantis in Nassau. They have good water slides & a lazy river - that isn't so lazy in some parts. Love it, but it is a bit pricey.
