A disney cruise is the most magical family vacation ever! I'm 12 years old and I went on the Magic with my mom. dad, and two sisters (10 + 6). This is what I thought of the trip:

Boarding- My first impression was- "Wow! This is organized!"For us, there were not alot of lines, which was great, we're not the most patient people! I loved how when you were boarding you were announced. It was also cool that there was something to do while the rooms were being prepared.

The Ship- From the moment I walked in, the ship was beautiful! I loved it! I only loved it more throughout the week. The lobby was beautiful and the service is great. I couldn't believe how many hand-wipes there were! :p There was also sooooooooo much to do! Not a single moment was I bored.

Oceaneer Lab- It was really fun and I was surprised at how nice the Cast Members were. They were really fun. My sister and I made a lot of friends here. They hosted a girl's sleepover party and it was really fun, we got to do our nails and makeup and watch movies and karaoke all night. The games on the computer were fun.

Ocean Quest- The model ofthe bridge is very cool. The lounge area was very comfortable and it's a fun place just to hang out. They also had a late-night scavenger hunt around the ship. It was very fun!

Our stateroom- We were lucky (and patient) enough to have stayed in the Walt Disney Suite. After two years of waiting and changed school schedules,, we finally boarded the Magic. The room was beautiful! My sisters and I shared a room-- with four beds, so it could hold us. We also got a walk in closet and enough space to hold all of our belongings. We had our own beautiful bathroom, with a jacuzzi tub, sink, and all the amenities. There was the family room with an amazing view of the ocean, and the media library with a pull-down bed. The master bedroom was awesome, the bed was big and it had a vanity. The master bath was gigantic. It had a jacuzzi tub, seperate shower, and two sinks! there was also a wet bar and two refridgerators.

The pools- I thought, as decorative as they were, the pools were not very good. They were always overcrowded, along with the beach chairs beside them.

The Food- Possibly my favorite part of the trip was the food. It's very cool that there is three different dinner resteraunts and a dining rotations. Lumiere's was excellent. the atomosphere was relaxing and elegant. Parrot Cay was very fun. The theme was very well incorporated. Animator's Palate was my favorite resteraunt. I liked it because the entire dining experience was a show. As for the actual food, it was delicious. I actually tried new things. I loved how there was a place to get food any time of day.

Pirate Night- was so much fun!! Since I met friends, I went with them down to Deck 9 right up to the stage. We danced and had a really good time. Dressing like a pirate was really fun. We even got on the Dumbotron!

Formal Night- Formal night was cool. My family dressed up in formal clothes and we went down to dinner. The only thing I didn't love was that we had Parrot Cay for our dinner.

Semi-Formal Night- Tonight my sister was not feeling well so I took my other sister and my friend to dinner. Again we had Parrot Cay. :rolleyes2 It was fun, though. We took lot's of pictures and got most of them printed.

Key West- Over all, Key West was not a kid's destination. There was just shops. My sisters and I went back on the ship. My dad rented a scooter and drove around for a while.

Grand Cayman- My dad, my sister, and I went on the island tour, turtle farm, and stingray excursion. We had to wake up early, so my mom and sister did not come. The island tour was kind of boring, but the turtles were so cute! They flapped around in my hands while my dad snapped pictures. The best part was the Stingray City snorkeling. Miles offshore- you get out a sandbar known as Stingray City. I was afraid at first to get in with them, but after about two minutes, I was chasing them around and kissing their noses! it was amazing how they came right up to you and just chilled!

Costa Maya- My dad and I did the Chocchoben Mayan Ruins tour. It was cool since I was learning about it school right before I left. The bus was air conditioned and comfortable. When we got there 50 mins. later, there was a little shop. We did not buy anything, though. The ruins were very cool. We could climb most of the stairs, just not the actual temples. I took lots of pictures and gave them to my teacher. Here's a tip: Bring lot's of BUG REPELLENT! A boy and his father got stung about four times, and I started spraying myself like crazy!

Castaway Cay- Disney's own private island, and you can tell. All around you are charaacters and family-friendly activities. We went on the banana boat, which was cool. What was even cooler, though, was snorkeling. Normally, I don't like fish, but, I went anyway. The reef is right under you and the fish don't run away! They just stare at you and I even touched a little white one. I shook hands with the Mickey statue and explored the sunken "ship". The fish were beautiful. Tip: Bring an underwater camera! The sand on Castaway was amazingly white and soft!

All in all, I can't wait to cruise again with Disney. It was the most magical vacation ever! :wizard:

Thanks for the great report. One question, what night and time was the girls sleepover party in the lab? I know my dd will love that. :sunny:

Thanks for your trip report. It was nice to hear a report from someone your age. Excellent job.

you are a great little writer and i enjoyed reading all bout your adventures.
my daughter just turned 9. we tried to get her to write a report but she
refused because she thought it was too similar to homework/school. a
stringray sneaked behind her and that's did it for her! back on the boat.
did the guide held any stingrays over your head for a pic? did you fly?
[onetime we drove and when my daughter realized the difference, she whines if we ever mentioned driving...] you didn't mentioned any souviners? my
daughter had to have the miss piggy..which she took everywhere including
her "talk" with rona. did you go up on stage? ..and how many mickey bars
did you eat? let's see, my daughter too many..and with sprinkles. :wave2:

yes, we did fly in from LAX. Nobody held a stingray over my head, but I did kiss one for a pic. My 10 year old sister wouldn't put her ilps close to it, though! I ate probably only 3 mickey bars, but all with sprinkles! I didn't go up on stage, but my other sister got interviewed by Rhona.

We are going on the Wonder at the end of May. The other day I asked my daughter (13) if she would write our report for us, and she agreed. Maybe this will start a trend. :thumbsup2
