March 25 2007 Wonder anyone else going?

Thanks to all who responded re the ride share - my motto is, it never hurts to ask!

Kate, we're aft on Deck 5 - looks like it will be fairly quiet back there. I found a site (http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/cruise-new/roomlist.cfm) where you can look up your stateroom number for reports filed by previous cruisers - our room got good grades, thank goodness!

Danielle - the news re "Disney Dreams" is cool! Our timing is perfect!

Mary - we'll be interested to hear about Cocoa Beach as we're staying there for one night after the cruise.

All - I have an "official" green Mickeyhead (saved from some website) that can be pasted into a Word or Publisher doc & then printed - if anyone wants this, just send me your e-mail address via private message. I used it for our door signs & will probably print two out for nametags for our on-board meet.l

Remember when our cruise date seemed light-years away? Wow!!

Happy last-minute craziness, everyone!

Good morning!

I can't belive our time is almost here. I am packed! Ready to go! My little friend, Hannah, called last night and I think she is about to explode with excitement. I can't wait for her to see the ship.

My daughter, Emily IM'd with Katie and Maggie last night. She is so excited too!

Gotta go...work waits for me!!!

Beth

Hi all! we're sailing with you all this weekend too. We're a family of 4, myself, DH, and our 2 girls Lois (10) and Callie (6). We live near Manchester, England and it's our first Disney cruise. I'll look out for you all at the sail away party. :yay:

Good morning all! Yes, we too are packed (just a few last minute things to throw in the travel bag!) I have to keep reminding myself this is just the four day cruise...do I really need 8 pairs of shoes???
We leave Friday afternoon, arrive in Orlando and rent a car to drive down to Port Canaveral. Saturday will be spent at Cocoa Beach with the other family we are traveling with. Weather forecast looks great for Sunday's sail away party!
I'm really looking forward to no cooking, cleaning and homework this week! You'll be able to find me on decks 9 and 10 with my book (love to read!) enjoying the sunshine!
(Not sure I'll make it to Home Depot for those Mickey Heads, but we'll see everyone on Deck 10, midship over the Goofy Pool. I just have to figure out which side is the starboard!)

My girls were thrilled to IM with Emily! Katie my 11 year old is still hoping to connect with someone her age before we leave. (She is feeling a little left out)
See you all Sunday, but I'll be checking the post each day.
Mary

hi Kona*Queen Glad you could join us Come on over to the meet we are having. deck 10 at 2:30 above the goofy pool on the starboard side.

I still haven't finished packing. I'm leaving that till Friday and Sat.

Mary I have one whole suitcase full of shoes.

Only two more days of work then I am off for almost 2 weeks i just can't wait

Hi...just found this thread. My son (8 yrs) and myself will be on the cruise and we are very excited. We're driving to Orlando Saturday morning & staying at the Nickelodeon Hotel Saturday night. This will be our first Disney cruise and his first cruise ever. I've been reading these boards for months so think I'm pretty up to date on what to expect. Started packing last night....:yay:

Hi all! Well, we're leaving first thing tomorrow morning and all looks good except that I'm taking Hannah to the doctor this morning. She has a cold/cough/low fever so I want to make sure it's not strep or anything serious - I need that peace of mind! Plus if she needs antibiotics they'll be in her system a good three days before we leave on the cruise. We're all still very excited and looking forward to a super time - have to stay positive! :thumbsup2

Hi again! Hannah has an ear infection. I'm so glad I took her in to be seen. Hopefully she'll do ok on the plane - her doc gave us numbing drops for her ear. At any rate....we can't wait to get to Florida!!

See you all soon.

~Kris

Kris, thank goodness you were on top of this. I hope she feels better soon.

Welcome surftrish hope to see you at the cruise meet

To everyone safe travelling, see you all Sunday

Mary (PFP258), you probably will not read this as you may already be on your way but I feel so bad that Katie is feeling left out - Becky has sent a couple of notes to Hannah and Sabrina but that has been a stretch to do!! It is great that there is such a large group of 10/11 year old girls that it will all work out. Just not enough hours in the day!! And I find it tough to read the boards as all of you are so organized - we are flying at 10:00 am tomorrow and we are no-where-near packed. It is going to be a fun night!?!?!?!? Ahhhhhh! But the thing getting us through is the fun we know we will be having on Sunday. A big fruity drink and lots of sun is just waiting!! Can't wait!!

Nkoelr - don't feel bad - we're flying in 5 hours & I'm still packing! Woo-hoo, apparently I live for the adrenaline rush!

Sabrina & I will have our mickeyhead nametags on - you'll probably find me in line for one of those big fruity drinks!!

Nancy don't feel bad. I'm almost packed but I tend to be neurotic about those things. I have to be organized. Come on over we are drinking homemade beer tonight. We are flying out tomorrow at 5:30 PM

See everyone on Sunday. Save a fruity drink for us

First, I'd like to say how disappointed I was that I didn't get to meet you all. We didn't even get to board the ship until 2:15 - our motorcoach that picked us up at the Dolphin resort was very late, then checking in, etc... We dropped our stuff off in our stateroom and went directly to lunch. So I apologize for not being there, I really wanted to meet you.

Second, was that not the BEST vacation ever??!!! I know it was my first DC so I have nothing to compare it to but I don't think it could've been any better! I truly did not want to leave the ship on Thursday!!! I am seriously sad that I'm stuck back in reality! I can't wait to get all my pictures back so I can look at them over & over & over.:)

I hope everyone had a wonderful time! I'm not sure if people continue to 'talk' on these threads after the cruise but if anyone wants to reminisce.....I'm around.:surfweb:

Kris not many people made the meet. I don't know who's back home but I just got home last night late. We had a wonderful time after the fiasco that was flying in.

Tiggerfriend, dotterson, koeler, us, and pfp258 all met. We were there until about 3:15. None of us really hung out together afterwards.

We had such a great time that we rebooked for Thanksgiving of next year tentatively

...but I'm glad some of us got to meet! Sabrina started feeling ill in the cruise terminal & was really miserable (stomach) by the time we got on the ship. I begged to be let into our stateroom early & then spent the next hour or so holding her head in the bathroom! -- not exactly how we pictured starting our long-awaited cruise! So...I finally ran up to deck 10 around 3:15 - sounds like I just missed those who did meet. Kind of kept an eye out for anyone "fitting the descriptions" of our gang, but no success (I did meet a nice mom from the Chicago area at the Castaway barbeque who loaned me a pen...was that any of you??).

Sabrina and I both felt a bit "off" on Sunday and most of Monday, but were able to enjoy most things those days anyway. Then we were back to normal for the remainder - had the best day on Castaway Cay - for anyone going again, we enjoyed the stingray adventure (actually handfed the stingrays!), and there was a great Disney employee on the beach there who builds elaborate sandcastles all day (what a great job!) & lets the kids help him. We didn't have good luck with the snorkeling excursion ("Carribean Queen") out of Nassau - neither of us had experience & we couldn't understand any of the instructions given over the loudspeaker on the boat. It was also windy & choppy that day & the waves kept dumping water into the snorkeling airtubes. So...probably fun IF you have experience AND the sea is calm.

To all with Oceaneer-Lab-age kids: did yours enjoy that? Sabrina came and went a few times but didn't seem as enamored of it as some kids (I met parents who couldn't get their kids out of there for love or money).

After everything I read about door signs, I didn't see any except for ours! Oh well, we enjoyed having them (& never had to doublecheck our door number!)

A last recommendation for those going again: Tritons for breakfast! We didn't try it 'till the 3rd morning, but boy was it nice. Not that the buffets were bad, but how often do you get to have breakfast in a luxury restaurant? Also had menu items you couldn't get elsewhere (eggs benedict, etc.).

We probably will go again, so if anyone else has recommendations, I'd love to hear them! This sounds weird, but I will miss communicating with you all!

Hi everyone. So, so sorry we didn't get to meet many of you. Becky was so very disappointed to not meet with Sabrina or Hannah. I even wore my bright green Mickey head for much of the trip in the hopes of someone seeing it and recognizing but to no avail!

Neither of my kids would spend anytime in the Oceaners Lab. We couldn't even get them to stay for an hour on their own. After the second try, we realized it wasn't worth the effort and just found other things to do.

The one thing we would highly recommend is the Dophin Encounter in Nassau. It was really a great experience. We did not fully swim with the dolphins (but that was an option for an additional cost once we got there) but got to hug it and the trainers were great in having the dolphin interact. And we got to take the boat past parts of Nassau where the wealthy live - beautiful homes that were fun to see.

We also heard rumor (but could not get it confirmed) that Disney is changing the cruise stops to eliminate the day at sea and add another day at Castway Cay. That would make the four night cruise perfect!!
