March 25 2007 Wonder anyone else going?

Linda I'm sorry to hear your DD is sick. I'm sure you will all be fine by the time we sail. Here's some pixie dust pixiedust:

Can't wait to see everyone on the Wonder at 2:30 on deck 10:cheer2:

Just recently found these boards although we are huge Disney fans! We will be on the 4 night Wonder cruise this March 24 as well. I am traveling from Wheaton, IL with my husband and two daughters ages 11 and 13. ( This will be our fifth Disney cruise...we just did the four night in August 2006 and have been doing the 7 day Thanksgiving week cruise the past few years. Yes we are hooked!) This was an unplanned trip, but who can say no to the Disney cruise? We are traveling with another family (my 13 year olds best friend!)
We are coming into town next Friday and spending Saturday at the beach.
I am spending time reading all the mesages so I can see if anyone has kids (girls!) my childrens age. I am a little concerned that my 11 year old will feel left out as her sister is going to be spending a lot of time with her friend!
Look forward to meeting people!

Hi again, I just saw some posts about Pirate night. I've gone to Party City where they sell Pirate eye patches, earrings and tatoos, that is what we will be decked out in. Also I've noticed at Claire's they have a lot of pirate themed jewelry and scarves.
I'm still learning how to do these boards so forgive me if I comment on old posts.
Thanks!

Glad you found us....just in time before the cruise! I'm sure you're looking forward to it just as much as the rest of us!!

Just wanted to give a few other tips to those first time cruisers...if you get at all motion sick I would advise beginning medication that morning. Everything is great when you get on board, but once you start moving you can feel it! (Trust me, I am very sensitive to that sort of thing and have spent many first nights in the cabin sick!) My kids are usually okay. They do have free medication down in the medic area. You can help yourself to the packaged tablets they have out.
I think someone might have mentioned this, but do pack a travel bag with a swimsuit, sunblock etc. as your suitcases may not arrive until later in the day. Plus if it is warm you will want to enjoy the pools right away! (it is the first thing our family does!)
They have really nice large showers that you can use in the spa. My friend and I discovered this in August when we sailed. We didn't have any treatments done, but just used the showers and locker room to get ready in.
This left our cabin a little less crowded at the pre-dinner rush to get ready.
On the day you leave the ship you will have an assigned breakfast time. (Early if you have early seating and later if you have later seating) However, Beach and Blanket (whick is like the Topsiders of the 7 night cruise) is open with all the same foods. We have always had early dinner and so early breakfast, but we choose to sleep an extra hour and eat at Beach and Blanket. Just a thought for you late nighters! Just don't forget to say good bye to your servers the evening before!
Get your kids involved early! The graduation they do on the last day with lots of photos of the kids is very memorable for those with young children. Yes, I cried each time my girls participated! (of course so did have the audience!) They also get a t-shirt which my girls always had their counselors and friends sign.
I don't know quite how Disney does it, but it is magical from the time you step on the ship until the time you step off. Leaving is the hardest part (unless you take advantage of the onboard discount for booking another cruise! Get those dates ready!) Looking forward to those warm ocean breezes!

Hi Mary welcome to our cruise thread. Will you be joining us at our cruise meet? It will be on deck 10 starboard by the Goofy pool at 2:30. what are your girl's names? We would love to meet you.

Tiggerfriend....how is your daughter? I hope she's feeling better by now. Hopefully the rest of you haven't gotten sick. Sending good vibes...:goodvibes

See you all next weekend!! Boy, it sure feels good to say that!

...and thanks for those great tips! We are first-time cruisers & always hungry for advice! I have an 11-year-old daughter (Sabrina) who will look forward to meeting your DD.

Linda, is your DD feeling better? & we hope it wasn't anything catching (for the rest of the family's sake!)

Just finished "cruise wardrobe selection" for Sabrina (whew!). She was trying on shorts while hovering near the space heater, as snowflakes flew outside the window!

Needless to say, we can't wait!!

Delamom,
My daughter Katie will be thrilled to meet your daughter Sabrina. Will you be at the cruise meet on sail away day?
My girls are counting down the days. The first thing my husband said this morning was "this time next week we'll be going to the terminal!" We just can't wait to enjoy some sunshine and warm weather.
Off to do a little more shopping today, those darn kids, they just keep growing each year! Oh and now I have a teenager I have to shop for. Have you seen swimsuits lately? YIKES...
Mary

:rotfl: Almost done with most of the house stuff -- except for packing! So now -- pack for the trip!

Also need to do the haircuts, pedicures, etc. Man, haven't had time to keep up!

We need to relax SO BADLY!!!!!

I'm on a mission to take a great picture of my feet kicked back in the sun while I'm holding any sort of fruity foo-foo drink in the foreground - plan on using it as my screen saver when I get home to remember the good times! I'm borrowing the idea from fellow dis'ers - have seen some great pics on this board. So Wed. morning I'm getting a pedicure and I'll be ready to go!

Hi Mary,

Yep, we'll be on Deck 10 starboard (above the Goofy pool)at 2:30 pm...hmm, almost exactly one week from this moment! (Hey guys, are we still planning on using Mickeyhead nametags to spot each other?)

Question for all: Sabrina and I are staying at the Comfort Suites Maingate East in Kissimmee Friday & Sat., then heading down to PC Sunday a.m. If anyone has room for 2 more passengers Sunday morning, we'd be happy to split expenses (& would get ourselves by taxi to wherever you are leaving the Orlando area from). I didn't book the Disney van as it seemed a bit expensive. Many boards I saw recommended just renting a car to get from Orlando to PC; I may still do that, but thought I'd check and see if anyone has room!

Mermaidlady & Tiggerfriend: looks like we're joining you on Deck 5! I thought we'd be on Deck 2 as I booked Cat. 12, but our tickets have us in Cat. 11 on Deck 5 - a pleasant surprise from DCL already!

Hi all not been on the boards as I have been working all weekend. It has been cold here.

Vicki is your room front or aft? we are in the front of the boat.

Danielle I went and got my hair cut Friday but having a tough time getting DD in. Our stylist injured her foot and had to rebook us, but Teagan just has too much to do.

Mary has your older one gone to the teen club? How did she enjoy it?

See you all in a week:dance3:

:confused3 Yeah, Kate. Nat has chorus rehearsal all week and no time for a haircut. She's really bummed. I will get a pedicure, but she might not be able to either -- even more needed than the hair!

Don't know if we'll have time to get the Home Depot Mickey color. Jeff will probably wear a green mickey polo. I will wear a Mickey Spring Break shirt and Nat, who knows!

Trying to look up where we are on the boat. We went all out and got Cat 4 - 8560 room. Nat hated the couch bed last time, so we opted for something we hope is more comfy! popcorn::

Delamom,
Sorry we're flying in Friday with another family, but we're renting a car Friday evening and driving down to PC. We are planning on spending Saturday at Cocoa Beach.
We'll look for everyone Sunday at 2:30. What are the Mickey heads from Home Depot?

Mermaid lady...
Maggie (13) actually spent sometime in the "stack" with the teens but mostly ran around with her 2 friends that came with us in August. Because she had just turned 13 she also went to the lab to check things out there. I think the older they get the more they enjoy just roaming around. (Funny, I wouldn't think of letting her do that home, but somehow Disney makes you feel safe and she has a good head on her shoulders!)

Looking forward to sunny skies and warm, ocean breezes!
Mary

Hello to all,

Thanks to everyone who has been praying and sending :goodvibes for my daughter and us for health. She is better.

We are trying to keep the allergies in control because the pollen levels are so high. If you have seasonal allergies, make sure you bring something to help you while you are here.

Mary - The Mickey heads are in the paint department at Home Depot. They are paint color chips. We will be wearing them as pins. I also have some to use on our door.

Vicki - glad to have you on deck 5 with us.

It was a very full weekend for us too. Two socccer games complete with soccer photos. All four of us got hair cuts in between the games.

Can't wait to see everyone on deck 10! :yay:

Linda

Hi all just got off the phone from disney and am bummed. There will be no parasailing. That was the one thing I really looked forward to do as I have never been parasailing.

Linda I'm glad your DD is better.

Vickie we are taking a van down to the port from the Embassy suites and I checked with the service, no more room sorry.

Mary my teens just want to hang out too. They plan on most of their time in the teen club but I am insisting they eat with us daily.

Hope everyone has a great week and see you on Sunday
