March 25, 2006- Anyone else?

myboysmom and all other Northwest Airlines fliers -- we all have our fingers crossed for you!

Minnie328 - My DD12 (monkeybug94) just got her braces on, so is sadly missing popcorn, apples, caramels, corn-on-the-cob...The orthodondist says about 2 years, and I'm sure by then she will be counting the days as well.

For those of you traveling NWA. I saw this in the Star Tribune:
myboysmom: Thank you for your work keeping us updated. We are flying Delta TO Orlando, but are on NWA back, as arranged by DCL. Does that mean that if DCL cannot find an alternative going back, we get to stay on the Magic another week??? :rotfl2:

On a different item, we had planned to keep the cruise a complete surprise from DD5 until the cruise terminal..... but alas our self-control is crumbling, we decided as a family to tell her tomorrow night.

myboysmom-

Thanks for the update on the strike since I didn't have time to read the paper today. We might know more at 10pm on the news. We did purchase the insurance this time :thumbsup2 , but that isn't going to help us get on this cruise if there are no alternate flights available. I think that we'd drive before giving up the cruise. I wish that I didn't ever have to deal with Northwest again for all of the recent strike hassles, but alas I live in Minneapolis :headache:

We'll just have to keep our fingers crossed!

"Why do we have to grow up? I know more adults who have the children's approach to life. They're people who don't give a hang what the Joneses do. You see them at Disneyland every time you go there. They are not afraid to be delighted with simple pleasures, and they have a degree of contentment with what life has brought - sometimes it isn't much, either."

- Walt Disney

Yes, living in the midwest sometimes Northworst (sorry) is your only option. In our Wiscosnin State Journal this morning the airline and pilots are working really hard not to strike. If they strike it is feared it will be the death of the airline.

I will keep you in my thoughts and hope it all works out. Meanwhile, I have hit the video rental stores buy 2 get 2 dvd sale, sticker books and MadLibs for our 20 hour drive.

DS just called. He is listening to ESPN Raio's "Mike and Mike" show. They are broadcasting from MGM's Brown Derby to tell me "you can hear the screams from the Tower of Terror." I think he is remembering all of our good times at the parks and looking forward to our cruise :cloud9:

Whose gonna be in cruise chat tonight?

me..( I hope)... and we can go into another room and just have a 3/25 chat too..

Hey, what docs are we supposed to get?

I didn't get anything yet...

i just started laying out everything from the lists....boy this seems like way too much stuff to bring. :rotfl2:

In the past, DCL has sent the luggage tags, contract, credit card info, forms to sign in a nice booklet type thing.. now we have done most of the paperwork online.. so I am not sure what will come in the mail other than the luggage tags, and some custom forms for the bahamas ( castaway cay), maybe we will get Mexico custom forms???

Even though we have DU as our TA, the package has come direct from DCL by Fed EX..

I think so too.. On a "normal" vacation, I never bring dressy clothes or more than a pair of shoes and sandals.. Now even the boys have gym shoes, sandals and dress shoes.YIKES!!!! way too much stuff..

You're right -- there will be only three of us, but we'll probably be bringing at least nine pairs of footwear! Never mind all of the non-clothing things we have ready to go based on recommendations from the DIS boards, ranging from an extension cord to Safe Sea to an over-the-door shoe hanger to pirate hats...

I'll try to join the chat tonight...what time is it?

Hey, I just got an e-mail saying our wristbands shipped today -- I should have them on Tuesday! :thumbsup2

Three weeks from this moment, we'll be sitting on the plane about to take off for Florida.... :cool1:

I will try to be awake :) I am presuming this is 9:00 Central- correct?

I can't believe the amount of stuff I have in my staging area- but all in all, I think it doesn't look tooooo bad.

I posted this question on the main board but it got buried :sad2: Should I bring a car seat for my dd (2 1/2yrs)? We are having family drop us off at the Port so I can leave it with them. BUT we are doing the Island Tour in Grand Cayman and the "David and Ivan" tour in Costa Maya. So... do I bring her car seat? Will they let me hook it up? Will there be seatbelts? :confused3 I don't want to lug it around and have it take up precious room in our stateroom if I can't use it!

Anyone have any experience?

Thanks!

I really don't know.. did you ask David and Ian if they are places for the car seat on the bus?

Please join us at the DIS meet . We are meeting on Deck 10 , the side by the terminal after the life boat drill. Also if you want wrist bands , let us know... we have a few extra. They are lime green and have the date of the cruise.

If you want I can enter you on the DIS list. Just need who is going, like DW, DD2.5 etc, late or early seating etc..

Welcome.. to this thread ... and

we are all in the same boat together... for a week.... :rotfl:

Sounds like we're flying to Orlando... THE PILOTS AND NWA HAVE SETTLED!

That may be our first magical moment for this Disney excursion! :wizard:

Our TA reported that Disney said about 7-10 days for the forms to arrive in the mail. I don't think that we have to worry if they aren't delivered for another week.

See you all in three weeks :wave2:
