March 25, 2006- Anyone else?

Good luck with Northwest. I know that if they strike it will really mess things up in your area. We are driving. I just never thought air would get so high! Of course, we are 5 hrs further down the road than you are.

Hmmmm this may solve a mystery. We just received our flight info from DCL and we have to get our seats. I was surprised that my whole family (5) was able to get a whole row of seats together this late and during spring break season... so people may be shying away from Northwest due to the strike threat. Anyone know when is the tentative strike deadline?

Geffric, pls add us to the list

Lflynn - DW, DH, DD almost 9, late seating room 2072 :thanks:

:tink:

Been away from the boards....this job is getting in the way of my personal life!!! Let the countdown begin!!!! pixiedust:

I think the deadline is Friday. I read the StarTribune on line. Today it looks like they have some things ironed out or at least on the table.

Thanks, geffric -- I guess I will have to change my name on here from gimpeaux to "Dirty Sam Kidd." As that site says, "You're the pirate everyone else wants to throw in the ocean -- not to get rid of you, you understand; just to get rid of the smell. Even though you're not always the traditional swaggering gallant, your steadiness and planning make you a fine, reliable pirate." Arrr! pirate:

I think there is good news today for those of us flying northwest. The media is reporting that the pilots settled today! :cool1: However the flight attendants have not. The flight attendants will not mess things up nearly as much as the pilots, in fact I would offer to be a flight attendant if it will get us down there safely and on time. ;)

If there is a strike we'll be right with you on the road myboysmom!

Thanks for the hints on good driving routes to Florida.

okay... the next thing to worry about... Safe Sea...http://www.safesea.net/on our last cruise, everyone on the boards said we would be very sorry if we didn't use it. Since we were snorkeling at St Martin and CC, I bought some. Now I am thinking about that too... I would guess that the one I have is too old and out of date and that I need a new one... any thoughts???

Oh yeah, only 29 more days!

Just to confirm, I am going to go ahead this weekend and order 20 adult and 20 medium wristbands -- neon green with either navy or royal blue printing saying "Disney 3/25/06 Magic." The cost will be $2.40 per band, including shipping, and I will send a private message to each of you who have ordered letting you know the total cost and where to send your checks. We have the following orders totaling 16 adult and 15 medium bands, so I'm hoping one or more of those who have not ordered any will speak up and take the extra 4 adult bands and 5 medium bands.

Here are the orders. If you want more or fewer, please let me know by Saturday, 2/25. Thanks!

Jim

dlf246 - 4 adult + 1 medium = 5 total = $12.00
geffric - 2 adult + 2 medium = 4 total = $9.60
gimpeaux - 2 adult + 1 medium = 3 total = $7.20
MickeyMagic/DDMickeyMagic - 3 adult + 2 medium = 5 total = $12.00
minneapolismickey - 2 adult + 2 medium = 4 total = $9.60
myboysmom - 1 adult + 3 medium = 4 total = $9.60
skibum/Minnie328 - 2 adult + 4 medium = 6 total = $14.40

Extras - first come, first served - 4 adult + 5 medium = 9 total = $21.60

Total I am ordering = 20 adult + 20 medium = 40 total = $96.00

Bloody Ethel Rackham
Every pirate lives for something different. For some, it's the open sea. For others (the masochists), it's the food. For you, it's definitely the fighting. You have the good fortune of having a good name, since Rackham (pronounced RACKem, not rack-ham) is one of the coolest sounding surnames for a pirate. Arr!

Cool!

I would think, given the chemicals in it, that you are ok unless you have stored it in a place that gets very hot (attic, garage).

Gimpeaux...i will take a medium for my daughter if you have one unaccounted for. THanks. can i send you cash. I will pm you so you can send me your address.

I am just so excited :hyper: by the fact that four weeks from this moment, DW :figment: , DD12 :tigger: , and I :ccat: will be eating dinner in Orlando and driving to Port Canaveral tomorrow morning to set sail!

Just had to share that...

4 weeks from today, We'll be on a plane to JAX, FL , pick up a car., find a hotel and then drive into the port the next morning...:yay:

I always find this an interesting time. I have been waiting and waiting and counting down for months and months. Now it gets to be 4 weeks to go, and I start feeling like it is going to come too fast!

It sounds like a lot of you are much more organized. I have not made any shopping lists or packing lists or figured out what I might wear.... I guess I'd better get on the ball!!

We booked Cat 12 guarantees. When I checked our reservations on the DCL website this past week, I see we have been assigned Cat 12 staterooms (deck 2). No upgrade for us. But they did put my sis & company next door to us, so that is good. I think that may have precluded getting the upgrade. I'll see how the Cat 12 works out; if it is a positive experience, I should be able to save some $$ on future cruises!!

Seeing how they assigned our staterooms, I'll bet DCL is getting ready to mail our 3-25-06 docs soon. So, be on watch for your docs and let us all know when you get them!!!

And I'll be watching for the PM re: the wristbands so I can send my payment.

MickeyMagic (aka Sue)

I have just sent a private message (PM) to each of you who ordered wristbands (MickeyMagic, skibum/Minnie328, dlf246, geffric, myboysmom, minneapolismickey, Stay-home_Dad_Scott, and lflynn) letting you know your total amount and where to send your check. Let me know if you have any questions.

Only 689 hours.... :lmao:

4 weeks from today, we will be waking up in Jacksonville FL. Stopping at Target or a grocery store and picking up the things we forgot, some wine and caffeine free diet soda. Then we are driving to the port.. Since it is now, :thumbsup2 11:25 ET, we should be at the port, checked in , and waiting for a group number to be called.. :woohoo:

gimpeaux-thanks for placing the wristband order. I will put a check in the mail on Monday. By the way, I assume that "Go Blue" means that you are a Michigan Fan! I graduated from there a "few" years ago, so we too are big fans of the Maize and Blue!

I need further recommendations on the safe sea sunscreen. My kids are little, so we will only be in the ocean near shore. My kids do, however, love to swim so they will be submerged and snorkeling. We just will not be out on boats and jumping off of the side. Any thoughts on whether I need to buy the safe sea sunscreen to protect from jellyfish?

Yeah...less than 1 month to go. Can almost start packing!

I really think that swimming anywhere in Caribbean puts you at risk. Just to show you how strange it is, 4 of us snorkeled in Cozumel and only DW got the lice.
