Afternoon All. Our county was moved in to the Blizzard warning for today through tomorrow at noon. It is not pretty outside.

My work didn't close but they let anybody go who wanted to leave go after 2:00 this afternoon. I left around 3:00. Snowing, blowing and drifting pretty good for the drive home. I can say I have driven in worse but I wouldn't have wanted to stay around till 4:30 though. Slow and steady, that's my motto. But things are to be getting worse as the night rolls around.

They will decide what to do about tomorrow in the morning.

Well I don't have work tomorrow so that is good. With all the drifts we have not sure if we could even get out. We just got a call from are village telling us that the side streets would not even be taken care of till the busy streets are done and that is understandable.

Well just got word that it should be a normal schedule for work tomorrow, unless something happens overnight.

Michael is being a good person and cleaning 3 neighbors driveways and sidewalks plus ours. I have the coffee waiting for him.

The sleeting has appeared to stopped. But have yet heard if it is really over yet! Thats about all we have is about 3 to 4 inches of sleet. Snow seemed to stay north of us!

Fireplace has been going all day!

While sitting here working, I can hear the rain and sleet hitting the house. I guess I better go check things out to see what it looks like outside.

Good morning everyone - happy Wednesday!

The snow and wind have been howling all night. You can't even see out our kitchen windows (facing west) as they are packed with snow. Crazy but we still didn't get as much as they were originally predicting. It is still snowing. Glad work is closed for both of us.

Happy Hump Day.

Most schools are closed here today. But we are no longer under a blizzard warning. Just a winter weather advisory. It has stopped snowing but we are having strong winds so all the snow from yesterday is blowing and drifting. Travel is not recommended in the state but work is still on for us.

Will have to go find some cruise pictures to try and warm up!

How is everyone doing? Storm stopped here about noon. Took Mark 4 hours to dig us out and now he's out plowing at the plant. Quiet day here resting up and getting ready for work tomorrow.

Dianne did you make it into work ok?

Yes I made it but I relied on Michael to get me there. He has 4 wheel drive, I don't like to drive in this stuff, it may look pretty, but it is dangerous.

And yes I am home safe, It does not look too bad anymore.

They opened the highways this morning, And DSIL did not drive the 18 wheeler last night, I think they will put him back on the road tonight...A little pixie dust for him tonight.

Oh and Mark I just found out they are opening a new chick fliet (not sure I spelled that right) in St Louis tomorrow.

Love Chick fil A are you getting in line now. For their openings they usually give free Chick fil A for a year to the first 100 or so. People camp out for days. Seriously once it has been open for a little while give it a try. I love their chick'n minis for breakfast.

To our Chicago friends - hope you are all staying safe and warm. Saw on the national news about Lake Shore Drive being shut down and all the cars. WOW! Couldn't even imagine. I heard from a cousin who lives out there about the thunder/lightening. From what I have heard is that if you hear thunder while snowing you are in for a lot of snow. And it looks like you guys got it. Glad Mark was able to get you dug out Mary. Be careful going to work tomorrow.

And Dianne - hope the ice will melt fast for you guys down in St. Louis.

we already have 2 in the area, none of them very close. And yes there are some college students camping, so they can be first in line If it was not so cold, I would try it also.

To our Chicago friends - hope you are all staying safe and warm. Saw on the national news about Lake Shore Drive being shut down and all the cars. WOW! Couldn't even imagine. Lake Shore Drive is getting all the attention, but the sad thing is that the news was saying all day it would be closed down as the weather got worse but still so many went on it.

The snow thunder was a little crazy and the clip of Jim Cantore reacting to it was priceless especially considering how many storms he has gone through.

Mark didn't get home from plowing until Midnight so he's still sleeping. I'll be heading in to work as usual. Streets seem clear and our driveway is good. Thankfully I only have to go a couple of miles.

Made it to work without any problems. Most roads are in good shape though you can tell when you cross from one town to the next who does better plowing. I'm happy to say our town does a great job.
