No long weekends allowed!!! I am just jealous!

Congrats Dave!!!!

My boss was getting worried because I had quite a few days left for vacation. But I have the 8 day vacation coming up over Thanksgiving and I like to take days off in the Fall and around Christmas. But the kids are off this weekend and Lauren and I have lots of plans.

Good morning everyone! Happy Tuesday!

Busy, busy, busy this morning. Should have known we were getting close to the :bride: and pirate:.

Sharon - great story. Thanks for sharing! I'm not good at keeping surprises at all. I want to tell. :(

Lisa - congrats on the :bride::bride:

Dave - congrats on the pirate: pirate:

Good Morning!

Two late nights and early mornings. Now I will be paying the price today.

And, the boy scouts are serving dinner at an Election Day turkey dinner tonight. Should be fun. ;)

Oops, can't forget Lauren. She has Daisy meeting and it is our night to bring the snack. So, it will be a busy evening running around.

Come on Flash....I know you are out there just waiting to jump on the :bride: or pirate:

How about Diane and Flo....are you off to work or still out their lurking????

Chris and Sue are you up yet?

Mary...it's about time to see you out here.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Come on!!!! I know you are all out there somewhere!

Kyle is off to school and Lauren will be up any minute. I am running out of time here. Someone post a message.

So what is everyone's plans before and after the cruise?

Did I see that we sail on a Thursday? I gues i should check the calendar but I am afraid to leave here.....then I miss it.

If that is correct then that means we return on Tuesday morning.

Would the Flower Festival or Show or whatever they call it be going on at that time?

Thanks Dave.

Do we get 2 for 499 and 500????

Lisa- I do believe we get 2!! We do sail on Thursday, and I have NO plans for anything yet as this is so far away!! We should try to all get together precruise, maybe at the Radisson or something.

I am surprised no one else was jumping in, we are at that time of day!

Have a great Day Lisa!

Well, I need to go get Lauren up and ready for school.

Have a great day.

Happy Election Day!

Make sure you get out there and vote!!!!!!!

Lisa -yes we set sail on Thursday and return on Tuesday. Flower and Garden festival should be going on at Epcot. One of our favorite festivals.

Lisa - :yay: for a long weekend. We are having one too! And if you have never been to the Flower and Garden Festival at EPCOT, be sure to go. It is really cool. Love all the topiaries that they do.

Good Morning Everyone!

Wow, I get up a little late today and look what happens!! :rotfl2:

DS has off today for election day, and had to get friend off to go home to Michigan. DS went to work with DH, so I finally have the house to myself! Well, not for long, it's a "mom" day and she has a doctor's appt. today plus hairdresser. But I have a whole 40 minutes on my own . . . yippee! :)

It's very chilly here today, with frost on the windshields! Brrrrrr!

I was trying to catch up on the posts. That was a really cool story, Sharon. And I liked all of the guesses. I have one that's not quite as good as that one, but it was fun.

Chris, I was asking where you were because DH and his scouts are planning a canoeing trip out to the Boundary Waters and doing some touring and he mentioned going thru Iowa, and I said, hey, wait a minute - we now know someone in Iowa - you could all stop there!!! I'm sure you wouldn't mind about 10 boys on the floor and breakfast for 16!! :lmao:

Dave, we were seriously thinking of staying at the Radisson the night before, especially since I think we will be driving this time (maybe). A pre-cruise celebration would be nice!

OK so here's my surprise story - not as good as Sharon's but:

We had already planned a trip to WDW in January of last year for 5 days staying at BWV. Thought we would go down for a long weekend at MLK day and for DH's birthday. (big mistake - it was very crowded)

DS kept asking is he could bring a friend, since he'd be the only kid on this trip. Since he is getting older now, we thought, why not. So he asked his one good friend, and we thought he was going. This was back in the October prior to the trip. Then after a week or so, the mom came back and said no he wasn't going to be able to come. DS was very disappointed, and I told him well maybe next time it would work out. He let it drop.

In the meantime, I went to the parents of another good friend, and asked them if they thought their son would be interested and if they would let him go. They were very excited about the idea, especially since the boy had NEVER been to WDW before. So we set our plans up! We were not going to tell DS that we would in fact have a friend along for the trip, and they didn't tell their son that he was going.

We decided that since the trip was close to Christmas, we would spring it on them then. My friend is quite creative, and she went through and wrapped a whole series of gifts that had something to do with the trip - like a small model airplane to represent his flight, etc. We wrapped up a "certificate" that we had made on the computer that entitled the bearer to bring one "BD" (the friend) along on the trip!

We coordinated a time on Christmas morning so that one didn't open the surprise a lot sooner than the other and ruin it. As soon as they each opened their gifts, they were on the phone to each, excited beyond words!!

It became even funnier when the other boy thought that his mom and dad were just wrapping up things about the summer scout trip (when they were going down to WDW with our English scouts). He didn't realize at first that it was a different trip and was apparently pretty depressed that all he was opening was the summer deal he already knew was coming! When she finally said, no, silly this is a trip with Dustin in three weeks - he jumped around the living room for five minutes!!!

They had a wonderful time on the trip, DH especially because he LOVES taking first-timers and showing them everything!!
