Hello to all my wonderful Cruisin' Buddies! I have missed you all very much - but hopefully I'm back!!

I just said hello on the Members' Cruise Thread! And then to try to explain what has happened, I wrote a silly story - so here it is . . .

Not a real happy one I'm afraid - but I will try to make the best of it!

Once upon a time, there was a very happy DVCer and she had a happy little family. She booked a wonderful vacation and started to chat with lots of new friends. She made many new friends who always sent good wishes for her son in Afghanistan (who will be coming home for good on June 20th - yippee!! ). She met a nice man named Ian who made her cute Deernuts for Christmas. And she really liked lurking around for and .
Then one day, her prince of a husband came to her and said, "sorry but I don't want to be married to you anymore, after 16 years - I need a change" !! Well, the happy DVCer became very sad and cried and cried some more. Finally, she decided she had to snap herself out of it, and become happy again for her sweet son Dustin and her older two boys, too. They are the best things in her life, so she better pull herself together!
So the happy DVCer is really trying to be happy again - and with the help of all of her new friends, I'm sure she will get there very soon!!
The End - or should I say, my new beginning!

I have really missed posting with all of you and I am really going to try to be here every day!! Thank you all for your kind thoughts. They mean so much to me and have really pulled me through a very difficult time - THANK YOU ALL from the bottom of my heart!

Sue - so glad to see you here again. I am so sorry for what is happening in your life right now and just want you to know that we are here. And I wish I were as eloquent as Mary with what to say, so I will just say I concur with her. Wish we could have our coffee/tea/pepsi group this morning.

And for your son coming home soon! And for good! I'm sure it can't be soon enough for you.

You mentioned Ian from the SSMC thread for this year. Has he started singing 100 bottles of rum on the wall yet? Him and Terrie were good about that. We enjoyed spending time visiting with him last year on the member cruise.

Hello DIS Friends and Welcome Back Sue!!!

Sue - make sure you let me know about 6/16. Hopefully you are available that day. I need to make arrangements for a sitter for Lauren so track me down on FB, text, email, call...whatever is easier for you.

We're getting closer to wrapping up more of DDs activities this week. Daisy end of year pool party tonight and her bridging ceremony tomorrow night. She'll officially be a Brownie by bed time tomrrow night. Exciting stuff!! I was thinking of making a pan of brownies tomorrow and surprising her with them after the ceremony. Then, Friday is final softball game and team party.

DS loves playing summer ice hockey. He has practice Wed & Thur nights and both days are supposed to be in the 90s. I do not have an official measurement yet but DS has to be about 5'9"now and he asked me this morning to take him for new sneakers. I just bought an 11 1/2 not that long ago and his feet are about to break through.Ugh! Can you believe he just turned 12 at the end of March?!?! I'll have to get an updated picture and post it on Facebook.

Thank you Mary - so far it's been a fine day! Spent the afternoon with my mom, so all is well. Have to pick Dustin up from his friend's house around 5 or so, which gives me a little time to say hello to everyone. But I read your post this morning and it made me smile - thank you!

Yes, that was Ian I was talking about and yes, he has on at least one occasion started to sing 100 bottles of rum - he and Terry! He made me small of his Deernuts for Christmas - I had ordered a karate one for Dustin, a golfer for Tom, a hunter for Bob - and he made a really great one for the ranger, but oh well.
13 more days til Bob gets home!

So if you all remember my best friend Gail, who was on the member cruise with us in '09, she will be joining me on this cruise! I am sooooo looking forward to this - you can't imagine how much!!

Mary - you are getting the heat from us. We have been above 90 since Monday. Today we are still above 90 and then tomorrow it is only to be in the 70's. Go figure. So beware Dave - it's coming for ya. But I would rather have the heat than the snow and cold.

Lisa - you are still so busy. Girl, you need a vacation. How many more days? And I can't believe your kids aren't out of school yet. When did they start? Or did you have a lot of snow days this year? Lauren must be getting excited about crossing over to Brownie. I remember those days. Enjoy them so much because they fly by. And I think on the express flight too! And your son is almost as tall as my DH. Plus, I think boys have much bigger feet these days than they used to. My nephew wears a size 14 shoe. That is like putting both my feet end to end! So, hopefully, you can buy a pair of shoes that will last him for a while and you won't have to get new ones again too soon.
