March 2025 planning questions

Hi, we are from the east coast and planning a trip for our Spring Break, the last week of March 2025. I feel like I’m running into issues with planning due to some unknowns, mostly regarding meals and entertainment options. What nighttime entertainment options will be available during the week as opposed to weekends? Is World of Color the only nightly show? I currently have us flying home on a Friday morning to due flight times, but does this mean we won’t have any opportunities to see fireworks or Fantasmic? (If so I could look into changing our flights to leave Saturday morning instead.) Also, it appears that park hours are not posted as of yet, nor any of the special events, shows and entertainment. I know I can’t make any dining reservations until 60 days out (which would be 2 more weeks for us) but I would really like to know before that time what my options even are for planning. We are going to be there for my daughter’s 13th birthday so I would like to book something special for her that day, maybe the WOC dessert party or a dining package, but again, I’m not sure what my options are.

Thanks for any advice! Is there a March 25 trip thread? I searched but didn’t see one.

We are in the same boat, with a first time trip planned the week before yours (also chose Friday departure bc of better flights). From what I can tell, Fantastic is only Fri-Sun in the Winter/Spring, which is a bummer since our dates are Sun-Fri. Not sure about fireworks. Hopefully some seasoned DL experts can chime in.

Hi! We are going in March as well (March 15-19). Unfortunately, it seems like Fantasmic and fireworks will only be Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Maybe during the busiest weeks of Spring break (probably in April around Easter), they add a few nights during the week. We actually moved our trip up a couple of days, mostly due to flights and our group’s schedules, but also to have a Sunday in there. That hopefully gives us Fantasmic, fireworks (Mickey’s mix magic), and the royal faire theatre show (tangled and/or beauty and the beast). None of that would have been going on Tuesday through Thursday. There likely won’t be any major parades until paint the night returns in May, but I have not seen any details about the smaller character cavalcades that might be going on.

Same boat at Mardigras2025 (same dates too). Our only night with fireworks and Fantasmic will be a Sunday. So I'm making sure we do a Fantasmic package (at Rancho Del Zocalo) to make sure we have a decent view without a huge wait. Then we'll do Fireworks from there. Would have loved to see fireworks from Galaxy's Edge but choices had to be made. I do anticipate World of Color while we're there but only one show. There might be a calvalcade in DL but I'm not counting on it. If they don't have fireworks they will likely have a projection show. It's better than nothing.

Here's something you can look at. In the days leading up to your 60 day mark, you can look if World of Color dessert packages are being offered. That will give you an idea. Like, if you see if offered on a Tuesday, it's likely it will be offered on a Wednesday. We enjoyed the dessert package but did have one hang up. The night we booked they cancelled World of Color at 7pm. So we had to rebook for the next night. Don't stress about a dessert package though, it doesn't sell out fast.

Per previous poster, the tip off for Fantasmic will be if dining packages are offered on your dates which you can see 60 days out. Entertainment is only formally posted about 4 weeks out and park hours 6 weeks out. Look at the Fantasmic thread on these boards and people post about dining availability in there.

DLR has in the past offered nightly Fantasmic and FW even during March spring break, but most CA schools have spring break in April. They have been cutting entertainment recently, so who knows what they do this year.

The only way to guarantee all nighttime entertainment is by visiting on a Fri-Sun. Please do be forewarned that fireworks are frequently cancelled due to wind. WOC shows nightly all year and is not impacted as much by wind.

Also, visiting on a weekend will be better for crowding. Weekdays at DLR are the most crowded of the week (yes, bizarre I know but true).
